I brought my car in to be inspected after a check engine code detected a vacuum leak. I was quoted $700+ for the repair. I inquired as to the break down and was told labor was roughly $140 an hour and the part cost was around $300 from the dealership. They said part costs had gone up recently. After my boyfriend, who has extensive car knowledge, looked into my cars issue he found the part on rock auto website for $40 and discovered he can do the job on his own. They were very respectful, kind and thorough but I feel they are a little over priced.

Made appointment on Monday for Wednesday, needed inspection oil change and tune up. They didn't touch my car until the afternoon, didn't finish it until after 5. I'm sitting in the waiting room after I get off work, waiting for my vehicle, and I see it leave the garage. I'm thinking the mechanic is taking a test drive so I'm waiting patiently. The shop closes at 5:30, guy behind the counter asks me at 5:25 if I'm waiting for a ride.

I tell him I'm waiting for my car, which he admits he completely forgot about and never called me (I was waiting for a phone call since that's how we'd been corresponding). There's a text message system that wasn't used as well. The prices are also outrageous - almost double other technicians rates and less than half the service. Do not recommend. Update: the steering wasn't fixed and they never spotted the front control arms I need replaced. Another shop I took it to informed me. Worst mechanic I've ever had the misfortune of spending too much money at.
