100% recommend AAMCO, for any transmission repairs you may need! I was so scared to deal with a transmission shop being a young female who knows absolutely NOTHING about cars, however they did not disappoint. I have a 2018 Ford Fusion that stop accelerating May 31, and was towed to AAMCO on the evening of June 1st. I called Gary and let him know my problem, and he ensured his team would be able to look at my vehicle and diagnose it within a day, which they did! Unfortunately, my problem wasn't a small one.
I had a torque converter issue, which required my transmission to be rebuilt. I was quoted for my car to be finished on a Friday evening, and it ended up taking a week longer. I was that customer that called multiple times a day, and i'm sure Gary was tired of me LOL however he ensured that I could call as many times as I like, and i did SORRY GARY! He was very patient with me, understanding, and explained things thoroughly. Thank you so much for repairing my car!

My car, a 2014 Ford Escape, was having transmission problems. After checking for repair shops in my area (Webster area) I called Aamco Transmission. I spoke to Gary (manager). He stated a price to fix the transmission and they picked up my car on Friday, May 13. We made calls to the shop periodically to check on the progress of the repairs. We were told it would be ready on Friday, May 20. I was expecting a phone call to confirm this but none came.
The Aamco website states that they would be open on Saturday from 8am to Noon. We called Saturday morning to check if my car was ready. The phone rang and rang and then disconnected. We drove to the shop (10am) only to find that that they were closed. I am angry because there was never any call from them regarding the status of repairs. It was always us doing the calling. Also, if they are going to be closed on Saturday, the website should state that. I cannot reach anyone until Monday and I am not happy!

Can't say enough about Gary and this shop. Something felt just "off" with our minivan and to me it seemed like the transmission was having issues. Gary calmly listened to me explain my concerns, let me ask all my questions - which he answered in detail for me (I try to do as much auto maintenance as I can at home, but transmissions is something beyond me). That was me just stopping by one day to ask questions and get info.
I dropped the van off a couple of weeks later. They had it for 24 hours, drove it around to try to understand and replicate the issue, ran several diagnostics, check the computer modules, and everything came back clean, clear, and no issues. They couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission and (kindly) suggested that I was a little over sensitive. This was a ripe opportunity for a dishonest shop to invent problems even if there weren't any and give me a huge bill. Gary and AAMCO went in the other direction.
I'm very appreciative and will definitely bring my vehicles here for any future transmission work, should it be needed. (This review is 2 months after the incident, transmission still runs/feels great - they were right and I'm just overly paranoid.)

Aamco has been wonderful at working and diagnosing problems on my 20yo niche Rialta. They went the extra mile on the AC problem because a fairly new AC compressor had gone out and found a wiring harness issue. Well worth what we spent on repairs for the service we received. Super honest and easy to deal with.

Never answered phone after 5 tries. Apparently they don't need business. To the owner's comment, I never said you met or know me, I said no one answers the phone after calling five times and it was a weekday. If you don't answer the phone for questions about services, you won't receive business from several potential customers. Get your reply correct!

I can't recommend this shop for the following reason. This is a single occurrence but it's evidence of gross abuse. My daughter's older Lexus RX300 was towed to AAMCO on Sunday (8-22-21) when the shifter cable snapped. The following Tuesday, she received a call with notice of a $120 diagnostic fee, and was told that the cost of repair was right at 2394.99 to fix it. We went on to request an estimate from another reputable mechanic at $900 but it would take at least a week. Lexus repaired the car in 3 days for $1265. Even at the higher cost from a Lexus dealership, it's obvious that AAMCO was abusive in their price. Use at your own risk!

The reason for my one star review is that there was nothing wrong with my car's AC. It was not leaking, and you just wanted me out of your office. No one offered to fix the issues or even took the time to show me where my car was leaking from. If your technicians had taken the time to actually hold a vacuum on my AC system, you would have seen that there was no leak. You saying that you didn't charge me means nothing since you didn't do the job that I was asking you to perform on my car. I would definitely not recommend this place to any one. Just go somewhere else.

Great service! Really nice staff. I took my Jeep Wrangler in to get my a/c checked but they did a total check up too. Told me about a problem I already knew about and did a diagnosis about all my Jeep problems. Will take it here next time since they do a complete check up and will be able to fix any problems I have.

The manager Gary was extremely helpful and polite. He assisted me by honestly telling me to go to the dealership for a repair since I had a loyal customer and should have still been under a warranty. Gary thank you so much for your honesty! You were very helpful!

PLEASE DO YOYR RESEARCH! DO NOT GO HERE! So my Tahoe was down took it here thinking they were legit people. Was told a few days it was longer than a week. After getting my tahoe back still drives like Shit. I have gotten all the excuses that nothing is wrong with it. After taking it back for another week I had to call to get updates. Gears still not switching right, it won't take long right.
Guess I will be going elsewhere to find out what's wrong and returning right back to aamaco to get it fixed. $3700 later for a torque converter & pump to be replaced. 2 weeks later! Not worth Shit!

1st time using them. All though my parents have use them For years. I thought why not after my truck left me stranded at work. Gave them a call the next day and they picked it up same day. Gray was the person that took care of me. Very polite and knowledgeable. Let me know that my starter was bad and needed too be replaced. As well as other options. Had my truck ready a couple day later. Also offers a payment plan. Which helps if the job is a lil out of reach. Will use again and I highly recommend

I drive all the way from College Station for this team to assist me with making sure my car is safe and operating at the optimal level. It was hard for me to find someone I trust, and I have such faith in this group. I have an older vehicle, and I'd like to keep driving it for many more years. I love my car. They ALWAYS do right by me. I have referred my sister, and now my son is a customer. Thank you all for being my "go to" mechanics.

I called and got Gary Roos on the phone and explained my car situation. He was very professional and understanding as I went over the problem regarding my 5 series BMW. What was interesting was that he made me comfortable enough to bring my car to his location and the service was awesome. Thanks for everything Gary.

I called about havjng my car brought on to get checked out. I spoke to Gary who was nice on the phone and explained the process would take a day or two, which it did, to find the problem. He gave me quote and an estimated pick up date. They were extremely helpful guiding me to what the issue was and what parts it would take to fix it. I was happy with the work done as well as the customer service. Thanks guys!

Not responsive. Left my car with them. Said they'd call in a few hours. I did not speak to anyone for several days. When I reached them they still had not looked into the problem. They then said they would call me in a few hours. After several more hours I called to finally get the diagnosis which was ambiguous at best. I expressed my frustration with their poor communication to which they were defensive and denied. Overall a poor experience.

This has been the worst car care experience in my life. I would never recommend anyone to this shop. The manager has no clue about the work his guys are doing. They have yet to fix the problem with my transmission and they've had my car in and out for three weeks now. They keep telling us they've fixed it and we keep having to take it back! Finally the manager tells me to take it to the dealership and pay for a diagnostic!
Obviously because they have no idea what they're doing. This place is a terrible joke. Do not take your car here! I've also tried to call customer support and have yet to hear back from them. Their automated response is that they will contact you back in 24 hours. It's been a week! I've never in my life had such terrible service.

I took my car to AAMCO because it is a national chain and I was moving out of state. They tried to sell me a 1 year warranty but I insisted on a 3 year warranty because I knew I would be keeping the car that long. Well, one year later I am experiencing transmission problems again so I take it to my local AAMCO where the tell me I need $700 in repairs and my warranty has expired; after only 1 year.
So I call Gary Roos at AAMCO in Webster and he says I paid for the 1 year warranty, even though they charged me $300 extra for the 3 year warranty. These guys are shady. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere.

Excellent and Timely Service. I took my Truck to ford to get a new transmission and got dicked around, called aamco to see if a rebuild would be a better alternative they picked it up from ford for no charge paid my ford bill and worked out a good deal with my extended warranty. No complaints!
