We founded our company in 1971 with a vision for excellence in the truck equipment industry. Our founder, Charles A. Smithberger, brought five years of prior industry experience to this venture. We chose Youngstown, Ohio, as our home because we recognized the immense potential and work ethic of this community. Our operations began in a modest 6,000-square-foot facility with a single service bay. Through decades of dedicated service, we expanded to 10,000 square feet in 1985 to meet growing demand. Our current state-of-the-art headquarters spans 36,000 square feet and features five 65-foot service bays. We operate a specialized three-bay, state-of-the-art paint booth staffed by two full-time painters.
Our team has grown to over 20 dedicated employees, including seven salesmen and a knowledgeable parts department. We are proudly a second-generation, family-run business, with Chad A. Smithberger leading as President. Having grown up in the shop, our leadership possesses deep, hands-on technical expertise in welding and vehicle repair. We remain committed to treating our clients and staff like family, a principle established over four decades ago. They didn't want our business. Not sure what went wrong but nothing went right. Won't get into details but Dave giving a quote at 4:30 pm and telling us to make a decision because you're placing the order the next day is really bad business. Took you all of 5 minutes to type a quote up you could have did when I was at your desk 2 days prior.
