I am writing to commend Lithia of Ames for an overall great experience! We recently did business on a used vehicle and it was pretty painless. Go and see Evan Ewing. He is 5 stars! He was awesome to deal! I dropped one star because of a bit of a long wait on paperwork and the car detailing was bit lax for me. I would recommend for anyone shopping for a used vehicle.

I have purchased 2 vehicles from Garry at Nissan and 1 from the attached Honda dealership. I will definitely call him first for my next one. I've also had excellent service at the service department. It's worth the 40 minute drive.

If you're looking for a dealership where they just want to make a sale and don't care about your satisfaction, then you need to look elsewhere. These people spend time with you discussing your needs, letting you drive the car, while explaining all its features. They get to know you with pleasant conversation, so that time goes quickly.

We were in search of a smaller suv then a van due to grown children and us not needing such a large vehicle any longer and after calling around trying to find the Nissan Kicks in the color we wanted we found that Nissan of Ames was in possession of the one we wanted. Francesco was so very helpful and very knowledgeable about the kicks and was very thorough about the entire process.

He explained every single thing to us in terms we would understand and was very polite and didn't treat us like we were just a number. He made us feel like we were becoming a part of the Nissan family and that is something my husband and I look for in a salesman. Not someone who is pushy or doesn't take our needs and wants into consideration and Francesco did. He was amazing!

Michael Mayberry was AMAZING! He should be moved up in sales! He was extremely helpful when I was looking to trade in my vehicle! He was not too pushy and I felt he truly listens to what your needs are. It's like he treats you like a friend rather than a customer! Made car shopping fun and easy! Too bad he didn't come with the new car

Buying a car here was very easy. Francisco the sales person was very good to us and spent time walking us through the car before buying and then after and also followed up to ask us how it was going. Would recommend the dealership.

I had a great experience at Lithia. The salesperson was great and so kind. I definitely had no intention of getting a car the same day but they really worked with me with my trade in and made it possible for me. The process took a little longer, I think we were there for close to 4 hours but we also came a little later when we got off work. The salesperson talked with us on and off so it didn't feel long at all. I've also gotten a couple calls within the first week with them just checking on me and seeing how everything is going. They were all great!

It was good salesman was waiting for me when I arrived. Took car for test drive everything was good. Paid cash and still had to wait over an hour. Car wasn't ready to be sold needed tires mirror and some stuff. Waiting to pick up next week parts are back ordered. Overall I would buy from them again.

My fiance's Murano was overdue for an oil change and tire rotation. I looked up Hummel's and there next opening was THREE WEEKS away. Ames Nissan you can get in the same day or a scheduled time that works (in the same week). When I pulled in, I was immediately taken care of and before I knew it I was out the door and on the road again. Super nice team - keep it up, Ames Nissan! As a bonus - you get a FREE CAR WASH with every service :)

My husband and I just bought a new Rogue and it was the best car buying experience we've ever had from start to finish. We will definitely be doing our service here as well since we have many friends that have told us how great they are.

I leased a vehicle for several years and was convinced by the dealer to trade it back in and outright purchase a new vehicle. I warned them that there was a small dent in the door, and was told "Don't worry about it! Everything will be taken care of!" Well, one credit hit later and getting hounded by creditors for $800 that I "owe" for the dent and I'm one unhappy customer.

I tried talking to the owner of the dealership only to be basically told "We screwed that up, maybe we can work something out." Well apparently not, because now my credit report shows that I'm delinquent in paying off something that I should never have been charged in the first place. I do not recommend Lithia Nissan of Ames

I had an amazing experience with Lithia's service department. They were unable to complete one of the needed services on my car at their facility, so they located another service facility in town that could do it, transported my car to the facility, brought my car back after the service was completed, and put everything on one ticket for me so that I didn't have to pay two different places!

Buyer beware. I purchased a 2006 Ford Escape for my son, the staff was very pleasant and easy to work with. Less than 48 hours after the purchase and with only 150 miles on the vehicle, the transmission failed. As of this writing, 2 1/2 days since one of many phone calls, texts and emails, STILL NO reply from management, as I was promised. The car was sold "as is" and although in understand the concept of this agreement, 48 hours in and a major malfunction plus no calls from management is inexcusable.

My experience at this dealership was the worse. I bought a certified pre-owned 2012 Nissan Sentra in July 2015 and within 7 months I had to replace the brake pads and the rotors. To my understanding buying a certified pre-owned vehicle is suppose to give you a sense of security that there should not be any big expenses so quickly after purchase. They were also supposed to send me a check for an oversight that was made and I never received it.

So therefore I believe they are not looking out for the customers but are just concerned about the sales. If you want an honest transaction I do not recommend this dealership.

OK, I am back with another review of Lithia Nissan. I just purchased new tires and windshield wiper blades. I was extremely happy with how I was treated and by the competitive pricing on the tires. Before I agreed to the tires I did extensive research on pricing in and around the Ames/DSM area as well as back home in MN and Lithia was competitive in their pricing and the quality of the tires they were selling me.even better than Sam's Club (which I would never endeavor to purchase tires from).

I decided to wait for the service to be completed and it was very timely. I was even able to get a free oil change from the deal. Jeremy and his team were right on. The waiting area is clean, the people who work there pleasant and the fridge is stocked with water and soft drinks. Glad I stuck it out with Lithia!
