Envirotest has operated the Air Care Colorado emissions testing centers, under contract with the State of Colorado, for 25 years. Envirotest is a member of the Colorado Better Business Bureau. For more than 30 years, Envirotest has focused on one goal-providing the vehicle inspection and maintenance industry with state-of-the-art equipment and solutions for vehicle emissions programs throughout the world.

Envirotest's experience in supporting decentralized vehicle emissions programs (also called test-and-repair or garage programs) extends over 20 years, including providing referee and quality assurance services in both Alaska and California.

Colorado has a long history of taking proactive measures-both mandatory and voluntary-to protect the quality of the air we all breathe. The regular inspection of emissions and the maintenance of our vehicles has been a key part of protecting air quality in parts of Colorado since 1981.

How it Works

In Colorado, state regulation does not require safety inspections (tire pressure, headlights, etc.). However, your vehicle will be subject to a brief visual check to ensure that it does not have any visible conditions that would make it unsafe to evaluate. Inspectors will look for obvious fluid leaks, worn tires, etc.
