Ermal's Auto Body. was set up in 1972 by Ermal and Shirley Thompson. Ermal's son Rod started working within the body shop repairing and painting cars at the time the shop opened as part of a school program. In 1974, when he finished high school, Rod started managing the shop and has managed it ever since. Rod and his wife, Kristi Thompson, bought the business in 1989.
