Services
Batteries, Starters, and Alternators
Report
Common starting troubles (an engine will not crank, or dies while driving, or has no lights on the dashboard when the key is turned on) could indicate that the battery is dead, or the starter is not turning over the engine, or the alternator is not maintaining enough voltage and amperage to charge the battery while engine is running. The battery is always disconnected to service any of these parts. Please note that all metal parts are recycled. Some parts are returned for core charge. Batteries have a core charge and the parts store recycles them.
Check Engine Light
Report
There are thousands of reasons why the check engine light might it come on. To define the problem, a scan tool is used to pull and clear codes from the ECM, PCM, and computer. Using the code to follow a diagnostic flow chart, the exact problem can be defined. After fixings are made, the codes can be cleared or reset with the scan tool. This would make the light go off knowing that the vehicle is safe to operate.
Axles and Bearings
Report
When a car's axles are bad, they may produce a vibrating or clicking noise. This could mean that the bearings have to be greased (repacked) or the boots that hold the grease are busted. Most boots and bearings nowadays are sealed and replaced as a unit. Ideally, the car should be put on a rack to have this done, but since Wheel Fix It, LLC is a mobile repair shop, the car is jacked up, the wheels are removed and jack stands are placed under car as a safety precaution.
