Walt's Auto Service Plus

Called them up at 1:46PM, asked for an estimate and received a fair price for an oil change, asked if I could come in and they got me in by 1:51PM. My oil change was down by 2:04PM. Fast friendly service with mechanics who are happy and take pride in their work. 10/10, support local businesses like this!

.Just thought I'd share my experience as it wasn't a great one. I took my car to Walt's here in Topeka LAST MONTH and a half because it was overheating. I just called for yet another update on my car that still isn't done. They have over 2700 dollars worth of "repairs" and somehow still haven't even addressed the overheating problem we brought it in for.

No one called to update or ask if they could make these extra repairs. They just made them. Be careful this place has SCAM all over it. So here I am more than a month later still with no car. They haven't fixed a single thing I asked them to. Walt called and cussed my roommate out, berated him and demanded he take down this post I made. He claims my post in untrue and there is no way overheating was our cars only problem.

But the parts he replaced I just got done having another shop replace in December to get the car running. I took out a loan for 2700 to get my car back until court and they held my money and car hostage until I signed a paper saying I authorized all repairs. I'll be seeing you in court for the crooks you are.

Terrible business.unauthorized repairs, shoddy work, had to pay twice for a gasket that still leaked.please beware if your looking for an honest mechanic.read more reviews, I'm not the only one taken for a ride by the singing mechanic.

Don't trust the commercial. If you see a commercial saying this is an honest, fair place to take your car, just don't. He didn't fix anything on my car. He did charge me way too much. I had to have another shop fix it immediately after leaving his shop. I complained about him maybe missing something. He said, "Thank you." $500, and my car didn't go 10 miles before it died.

Poor customer service. Poor business practices. The other shop found the issues during diagnostics in a matter of minutes. I will not be back and would recommend you just avoid the place.

I searched for my 2003 James Bond Edition Thunderbird and drove to Pittsburg to pick it up. On the way back I noticed some things that needed to be repaired. I was looking for a shop that worked on older classic, collectible cars and always saw cool cars outside Walt's Auto Service. I am so glad I stopped in. He has fixed several issues and backed his work but I also love that he understands my emotional attachment to my car.

We had to stop at Walts auto service after my friends Chevy impala started shaking vigorously after acceleration. We were coming from Utah and had to get to Pennsylvania and he hooked us up good. Saved our butts, thanks again!

I referred one of my employees to Walt's with a leaking tire. In less than 10 minutes, the employee was back on the road with the tire repaired. Thanks Walt and staff! Service: Tires

I broke down just south of Topeka. I had my vehicle towed to Walt's, one because I prefer small mechanics and two because they were the only ones that said they would even look at it that day. My vehicle arrived right before 5 (closing time). They were nice enough to at least hook it up to see what codes were on it and then one of the mechanics was kind enough give me a ride to my hotel.

They looked at it first thing the next morning & found the problem, fixed it and also fixed what caused this issue to begin with. Walt himself even picked me up at my hotel and gave me a ride to his shop and one of his mechanics had already hooked up the trailer I was towing to get me back on the road as soon as possible! Loved their service!

I was referred to Walts by another mechanic. When I went to pick up my car I noticed a medium sized dent with white paint on the vehicle that was not previously there. I called Walt but he tried to say it was there when I brought it in, as if I would not have noticed it before. He was unwilling to admit they dented my car and was quite unprofessional in our conversation. I would not take my Vehicle there.

My 19 year old son got taken advantage of by this shady mechanic. Charged him almost $900 for greasing his ball joints. They claimed they replaced control arm, but got them on video saying otherwise. Thinking of taking them to small claims court. Just because my son does not know much about cars, is innocent and has a trusting heart, they took advantage of him. The lady that works there is just as shady. STAY AWAY FROM WALT'S RIP OFF SERVICE. SHAME ON YOU!

I am incredibly impressed and grateful for the work that Walt and his team did on my car. I was in the middle of a long drive and needed to stop because my engine was over-heating. I had the guys at Autozone recommend Walt's me and I was not disappointed at all. Brad helped me initially - he was quick and thorough with the diagnosis. They even helped me figure out my evening plans since we had to wait until the morning for a part to arrive (which it did at 8am).

They did great, efficient work that got me on the road again quickly. But most importantly, Walt talked through the greater issues that he saw with the engine. They noted that they fixed the symptoms of the issues and thoroughly discussed the larger issues with me that I can have mechanics in my hometown examine. The care that Walt and his team put into their work and customers was very evident to me. Wonderful experience!

A few years ago, I had bottomed out going to fast over a hump/bump and it messed up my muffler so it was EXTREMELY loud. I was recommended by my ex to go to Walt's. Being a single female with kids, you never want to do these types of things without a guy with you.you think you are going to be taken for all your money and they could tell you anything and you are going to believe it.

But not Walt. At first my experience was iffy. I called to try and get a quote. Walt made it clear, it's hard for him to give a quote over the phone and I totally understood that. However, I knew I didn't want to go in there without having enough funds to fix it.and he understood that too. Not to mention, it would have sucked to drive from out of town, all the way to central Topeka to be told there wasn't the time to fix it that day (I had no idea how long it would take to repair or the cost). Well, I decide to take the risk.

I had my ex meet me up there on his lunch break, Walt remembered who I was (I'm pretty sure my ex owed him some money at the time;)) and we waited while he looked underneath the car. He told me the price it would cost, how long it would take and when we returned, it was done. I felt I was beyond reasonable charged, as I had expected it to be much worse than it was (it was LOUD). Now, here I am googling "muffler repair" once again.looking over reviews.funds are available.looking at his card he gave me 4-5 years ago.thinkin' 1) Why did I never post a good review about this place? 2) Why am I even looking for a place to get it fixed? I could be at Walt's having it done (most likely for the best deal) right now! 3) Should I call first? NO! Don't call.just go!
