I took my vw beetle because the check engine light was on and we noticed the timing belt was loose. The code was for the camshaft position sensor, mass air flow and engine coolant temp signal too low. Sam called and asked me to replace coolant temp sensor and air pump I said ok. Then later he called and asked to replace expansion tank and engine mount.

The next day he called again saying no coolant was flowing into the expansion tank and wanted to look into it and I said ok. They also replaced the timing belt and water pump. Which everything cost almost $1700. I picked up the car and drove it home and later went out to leave and started the car and it shook and the light came back on I called Sam and he said bring it back down so I did.

When I got there Jim the mechanic was outside and asked me what happened? I stated I drove home and went to leave and started the are it shook and the light came back on. He then said why did you do that I was like cause I just spent almost $1700 on it to be fixed. He then took the car back to check why the light was on and it was the camshaft sensor.

He stated he blew it out and something small came out. I told him I thought they had already replaced that. He said no he tested it and it was good and that I'm good to go. I drove about 6 miles to my parents and when I went to leave the light came back on and this time it wouldn't drive over 20 mph and so I called and spoke to Sam again.

We had it towed in the next morning I waited all day for a phone call saying what was wrong with it and they never call so around 5pm I called and talked to Aaron he said he thinks Jim got it fixed but wanted to drive it more and he thought he said he wanted to drive my car home which upset me cause they never even asked and I had never heard of a shop doing that.

The next day Sam call and said the car was ready so I got a ride and when I got there they said it would be another $158 dollars I was like for what I never got a call or anything. Of course I paid cause I wanted my car back but I will never do business again with them and if I was you I wouldn't either. I feel they try to take advantage of females also by trying to add stuff you really don't need.

I've been to Walker's a few times and have had nothing but good encounters with them. I feel like they are pretty honest, which is important when going to a mechanic. I had an issue with a bearing. They charged me for a part they anticipated using, but didn't after all. I, of course, had no clue, but they called me the next day and said they caught their mistake and said I had a refund coming.

That speaks volumes. In addition, my car sounded like an airplane when i took it in because of the bearing and alignment. Mind you, I drive a hybrid and it should make barely any noise. It sounds like new again. They also gave me a ride home when I dropped my car off. All in all, they did a great job and I will continue going back to them.

Have used walkers for quite some time and we are always happy with the outcome and the service!

Walkers is a straight forward, trustworthy, and always friendly local automotive shop here in Modesto. I've only been here about 4 times for different services but they have been very fast and very informative of the work they do and the work they recommended and why. I would recommend them if you live anywhere in the Modesto/Ceres area.

My issue with this place is the front desk clerk Luis. He is very short with me and not very nice at all. Maybe it's because I didn't have enough money to fix all the problems with my truck. Maybe if I wasn't sent there through the caps program, he may of treated me differently. Not everyone has money spilling out of their pockets, doesn't mean you treat them like a broke low life.

My husband and I always bring our Toyotas to Walkers. They are professional, friendly and I trust their assessment of whatever is going on in my car. I highly recommend them. Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

They could have just sent me on my way with a new drive shaft and same wobble instead they dug in and fixed the issue thanks again for the great job car feels amazing like night and day! Had a timing issue with my car and they replaced the timming chain and gears it took them about 2 weeks when I picked up the car check engine light came back as soon as I got 2 blocks away I was so mad I didn't want to take car back to them cause I was under the impression they were going to check everything out but apparently they didn't I didn't mind paying for what ever else needed to be done now I'm done with walkers

The drop off of my car for an overnight appointment, turned into a quick 45 minute service that same day! As a first time customer I adamantly recommend this well-establishment business in downtown Modesto. It has been here serving the community since 1977! No surprise they are still around with their dedication to customer service!

I brought my Subaru Crosstrek here twice in one month. Once for a major service, brakes, transmission, all fluids, etc. And then I brought it back for an oil leak that was a fairly large job. Both times the repairs were finished on time and also done at a fair price. Luis was knowledgeable and kept me updated. The car runs great and I will definitely be bringing my cars here in the future for service and repairs.

We thought we had a battery issue so they tested it and the entire charging system, seems that we might have left something on. We had a door lock switch not working so they replaced it. We also had an electronic brake controller for our trailer that went out and they replaced that. They do good work, and are very helpful and they communicate with you on what they find before they repair or replace anything.

Aaron and the team are awesome! They take the time to explain the fixes and give you options to fit your budget. My car has 150,000 miles on it, but runs like new now!

They obviously know their business. Professional courteous and honest. I would trust these guys to do anything. It'll be the first place I call when I need my next repair.

Well If they didn't fill out an accident report then who knows where the record of my service is. I'm certain the employees remember a hearse because they were making wise cracks and enjoying the oddity of the vehicle (which in turn caused one of them to lean on the car for a photo and break the glass as It was in for service). In hindsight I wish I didn't listen to a friends recommendation, which they regret now.

I don't ever write reviews because I'm sure business' are not perfect and are doing their best. But this was just not right, how they treated the situation and didn't show any concern for what they did after they admitted it. I remember the employees getting quiet in the office andand watching me leave, it was strange. Be aware if they do some mistake they will try to get away with it unlike other professionals, just read the other low star reviews, be warned.

I've had the worst encounters with walkers each and every time i have been there. I got into a car accident about 6 months ago and took my car here. They had to put in a whole other computer in my car, i got back my car with other issues that were not there before my accident. They told me there was nothing they could do and i would have to take my car to a transmission shop.

My car was looked at by another mechanic and it turns out it has nothing to do with the transmission at all the wiring was all messed up when they installed my module. My car is brand new nothing would be wrong with the transmission. Anyways before i found out the real issue they told me they could reset my computer so my car would work for me if it broke down suddenly again and i didn't have time to take it in.

When i called them they said no and told me to go to the transmission place. They got paid out by my insurance and my car still wasn't in any condition to drive. I would not recommend anyone go here. I've never dealt with this type of service in my life. I honestly don't even know how this place is still running as a shop, not to mention they charged my husband a shit load of money for his car as well and didn't fix any of the issues he was having.

First time i have used this shop. My first call was very professional and scheduling was very easy and pleasant. Drop off, while busy, went smoothly as well. They called promptly after diagnosing the issue and gave me a fair estimate that I approved. Car was done 2 hours before their stated time. Pick up again went really well. Will definitely use Walker Automotive again.

I have been coming to Walkers Auto for almost 10 years. I have always had the best service here. I have never felt like I was being taken advantage of, or that the prices were too high. I get so worried about my truck since I know nothing about vehicles and they always answer my questions, are friendly, and professional. I can call them for advice if a light comes on and I can swing by on my way to work and they check it out for me quickly and always put my mind at ease. Thanks guys.

I have previously used Walkers Automotive with high quality service. I was disappointed yesterday however, to find none of the staff wearing masks and adhering to Covid 19 requirements. I had an appointment that would have taken 1 hour to sit there. Was not comfortable and canceled my appointment. I'm a bit disappointed in their lack of precautions.

We have been in multiple times with both of our vehicles. The staff is amazing, kind, thoughtful, and they do a great job!

I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received at walker. I've taken both my cars here for oil services and recently had one of cars towed there for major service. I had a lot of questions about my car not working properly and they totally went above and beyond to find out what was wrong keeping it extra days to make sure the problem had been resolved.

Every single person I've dealt with has been super friendly. Definitely found my shop. After I also received a thank you card from them with a coffee gift card! Who even does that anymore?! They genuinely appreciate their customers.

Wow! They got my van fixed and running better then ever this is what good customer service is all about. After dealing with electrical issues and having other electrical automotive places in town look for the glitch these guys found the problem and had my van running like a champ in less then a week. I know you guys do good work because I've towed many cars to your shop throughout the years and you always return them running like new! You guys are awesome thank you for fixing my old Honda van! I went in to get an oil change since I needed one. I found them on Yelp. I got the discount. Upon arriving I was greeted and walked inside. Staff are very nice and polite. I didn't have any issues. I asked how long it would be, approximately one hour. I sat in the waiting area, about 45 minutes late my car was done. Easy and simple. I didn't get talked to about any extra work my car 'needs'. Will be visiting them again. Thank you!

Took my Acura MDX in because smoking burning odors every time I run the air conditioning and making noises outside of the car when you run the engine. Left the car for over 24 hours no diagnostic test was done they looked at it said they couldn't figure it out and charged me $110 and sent the car home with my wife and when I called this is exactly what they said to me. Should've went to Acura!

Not to be a jerk, however for $110 you should at least tell me something being that I trusted you as a mechanic to look at my car and give me an idea of what's going on! To be fair, Walkers has been great in the past however I am greatly disappointed this time.

I took my car in because the ac had stopped working and I was hoping against hope it just needed a recharge. They said it would take 45 mins to diagnose since I had an appointment but it took about double that. Then they tell me the ac compressor is broken and it will take $1350 to fix it. I decided to take it to my regular mechanic in Turlock instead- Rogers Auto. Roger confirmed it was the compressor and fixed it for $810. That's a huge difference. Walkers contacted me twice asking for a review so here it is. Clearly theyre very expensive and using the extra revenue to pay for marketing. Just give people good prices and word will get out.

Brought my Acura to get fixed, brought it in at 7:30 am the same day that my car broke down. They happily took it in and was fixed the next day after parts were ordered and received. Great mechanics, reasonably priced. AAA approved repair shop, 10% discount.

I've been using Walkers for over 20 years, they're always professional and honest. I trust them. Just had a blown Head Gasket replaced, car runs great again.

Do not go there if you're trying to get a lamp and brake light inspection if you ask them questions they'll lie about the answers and then when you go in for the inspection they'll fill it knowing that you asked these questions

Louis, took the time to answer all my questions in person and over numerous phone calls. Helped me to make decisions that were best for my car and for me financially. The staff was very professional and I am very glad I chose Walker's to fix my car. I definatley recommend and will be using them in the future.

Recommended by AAA, we tried Walker's and canceled an appointment with our regularly used repair shop of 30 years. I was overly impressed by the friendliness of each person I interacted with. I was not accustomed to kindness for an auto repair facility. No pressure was applied with recommended services and they even had shuttle service. I had to remind them of the AAA discount, which was my purpose for choosing them, but other than that it was a great experience and our vehicle is running again. I would recommend them and also return myself.

Aaron Walker is either a liar or a crook. Have an 06 Mercedes w203 chassis with the m272 motor, has the common issue with the sprocket on the camshaft failed due to Mercedes not using hardened metal on it and I called and spoke to him to get a ballpark estimate on repairs. Told him the OBDII codes I pulled and that I'd already taken the sensors out and lined up the flywheel to verify its out of timing and its definitely that issue.

After him looking on his computer a bit he said it'd be roughly $1500 parts + $1500 labor but they'd have to take a look at it to get an exact estimate. Took the car down there and after a few hours I get a call with a quote of $6300-6800. I declined their services then he tried to stick me with a $200 fee for them looking at the car. I wouldn't have even wasted my time taking it down there if he'd given me the $6300 cost over the phone.that's nowhere near ballpark of $3000.

Then he tries to tell me all I asked for was a timing chain replacement. BS. Benefit of the doubt IF he was deaf and mentally handicapped, he's gonna charge somebody $1500 for a timing chain kit? HAHA what a load of bullsh*t. A complete w203 m272 timing chain kit is $325 not $1500 Like I said he's either a liar or a crook.
