Volsar Automotive believes in giving back to the future of its community and that is why we hire many of our new employees directly from the Medford Vocational technical high school. We replace and stand behind all our parts installed for 24 months or 24k miles valid at any authorized Napa Auto Care Center.

My windshield wiper fluid stopped working this winter, so I brought car to Volsar - they found and repaired the problem same day (a blockage in the hose) and replaced rear wiper blade & checked a few things I asked for (which ended up not needing any work), all for a reasonable price (~ 160$). My car is new-ish, so I hadn't been recently until now, but I recall good experiences with them from my old car (early-mid 2010s), and also my partner used them for tire replacement and had a good experience. They are friendly, responsive and reasonable. And they don't have the "macho" attitude that some mechanics have. Highly recommend.

Drove up from Atlanta to visit my family for Xmas.and wouldn't you know the heat in my car started acting up. I knew what the problem was as I just had it "fixed". George got me in right away so I could drive home without freezing my butt off. Super fair price as it was less than what I paid in Atlanta yet they flushed my system twice as many times. Fast, reliable and friendly. What more could you ask for? Thanks Gus, George and company!

First time going there was the other day. Was very happy with the work done on my car. I had a mini tune-up, fuel injector replaced, and a few other things done. They always kept me posted with what was going on with the car. The shop manager was very knowledgeable explained everything to me. I met the owner of the company, he was also very nice. He explain to me exactly everything that was done to my car. I left there with a smile on my face I would definitely recommend Volsar auto to anyone who needs top notch work done on the car. Thanks guys for a job well done.

The only place I go if I have a major problem or one difficult to diagnose. And I live very far away. He has invested in the equipment to make all this happen where others have not. Gus rules!

Very good experience. Came in looking for tires, balancing, alignment, etc. Gus and George got me in quickly despite short notice. They fixed an issue with the washer reservoir while they were at it and alerted me to issues with the rear brakes. Fast service, good work, fair price -- they're total professionals.

I had a very good experience at Volsar! Not only did they complete the services requested in a timely manner, but they were considerate about the vehicle. When I received the car back, it had a floor mat, seat covers, and more. The price was beyond fair aswell. In the past, I have found it to be rather unpleasant to speak to mechanics given that it often feels that I am being spoken down to or being given an unreasonably high quote. My experience at VOLSAR could not have been further from this. My car battery died and I contacted this shop to get a quote. George called me back exactly when he said he would, and gave me a very reasonable quote.

Not only that, he was also incredibly kind and took the time to answer all of my questions. He ordered the battery for me this morning, and it arrived this afternoon. I had my car towed there around 3:10PM and got a call from the shop around 4:10pm saying the car was ready to be picked up. When I arrived I interacted with Gus and he was also very friendly and helpful.

In the end, the repair was actually slightly less expensive than I had originally been quoted, and I was able to drive my car away with no issues. It is so hard to find an honest, reasonably priced, and reliable mechanic and I can say with confidence that this shop ticks all three boxes.

Thank god for Gus and his staff. I have been going here for years with both my old car and my current one. They are always trustworthy and truthful in their assessments. They have saved me from getting scammed by other places and given me their best opinion on how long repairs can wait to allow for budgeting. Highly recommend this place for mechanics you can trust and reasonable pricing!

A reliable and experienced classic FJ cruiser mechanic is hard to find in Massachusetts, Gus at Volsar Automotive is one of those rare few. He currently works on multiple land cruisers of varying vintage and conditions including my 1967 FJ40 with a Chevy V8. My truck is not too original compared to the others, it has a solid frame and it drives but it has been pretty modified by previous owners. Gus is guiding me through replacing those hacky mods with high quality solutions and starting us on the rolling restoration path to bring back that classic cruiser character. Gus has done a lot of work off the clock for me on this truck.

I can tell he is really passionate about FJs and helping me take my cruiser to the next level. He does a really good job explaining everything he is doing. I hope to someday to understand my cruiser like he does. So far I have had general maintenance done, carburetor adjusted, beautiful custom engine mounts installed and he has made a whole list of other items to address to improve the truck that I want to check off.

For the time Gus puts in and the quality of work the value is incredibly fair. I highly recommend Gus and Volsar for your classic Land Cruiser repair needs if you live in the greater Boston area / Massachusetts in general.

I went here to have them check my car after a faulty jump start. They couldn't find anything wrong with my car even though the radio was clearly not working. They ended up not charging me after I argued about it, which I thought was fair since they didn't find anything wrong. They did give me a quote for replacing the radio though, but the price was outrageous with almost $200 for labor and $500 for a part. However, it took me about 10 minutes to replace the part myself with only $50 spent for the part from the junkyard.

For that price they should be cleaning and detailing my car. They also weren't sure which part was damaged, when I figured it out myself in a few minutes. It just seems like every other shop in Boston - a shop for people who have minimal experience working on their own car that do not know how to change their own oil.

I don't want to discredit them as far as there quality of work they do and products they use but giving you an upfront price on labor then obviously taken a quarter of the time to do the job is pretty much stealing to me but it's the same as way auto dealers charge and take what they can from you. when they wanna take your wallet form in response to tina d i never approved the 180 dollar a/c check that you guys did. which is waisted now because i couldn't afford your service prices so all the freon is gone because of the leak i had.

I did go to volsar before you guys moved down the road and had i known it was under different ownership i never would of gone to your shop. Because that owner saved me tons of money

I had just called and left a message for Gus about a leaky tire.not 20 minutes later I'm at the gas station across the street to fill said tire and my car won't start. I call over and tell the woman I had just talked to what happened. She sent Gus right over, he jumped my car, took it right into the shop and is taking care of the battery, the tires AND an oil change while he has it. And this isn't the first time he's gonna above and beyond for my family, can't say enough about the service here! Thanks Gus!

My experience at Volsar continues to be excellent! I needed to get my car towed to a service location. They took me right in no hesitation. Gus provided me with follow up calls explaining very clearly what the issue was and what the next steps to get the car fixed would be. There is no push for selling extra services so I never felt they were trying to make the job expensive.

The work and the price was just right. Overall not only they provide excellent customer service but they go the extra mile to show their dedication, honesty and high level of responsibility in the work they do for their customers. I cannot see myself going elsewhere. Thank you Gus and Chris!

I have used Volsar the past 4 years and they are great! They never try to push unnecessary work and always explain thoroughly what they find and what your options are! They are fairly priced and get the work done in a timely manner!

This guys are solid. Honest, flexible, and always looking out for their clients best interest. Had an older Sierra Denali brought in for work. They could have thrown a bunch of new parts and service at it to maximize their engagement, instead they walked me through my options and did what was right for the vehicle's age. Go see Chris and Gus.

Went here for the first time. Gus was great. Popped in. He had my impala blower motor fixed asap. Took great care of my car. Place is clean. Comfortable waiting room. Price was excellent. Wish I new about him sooner! I am now going to be a repeat customer. Sending others your way Gus!

The worst experience of my life. They are thieves or should buy glasses. I went in for a simple oil change and they told me I needed to spend thousands to fix my car. I left and went for a second opinion. The brake lines that they told me were rotten not only did not need to be replaced but had no rust on them at all. The front suspension work they told me it needed was also false.

I went back to the garage that did my state inspection and they rechecked my suspension. There were no issues. Just to be re assured I went to another shop and they also told me there were no issues. I had to pay both garages for the inspection and lose a day of work due to the lies spewed by Volsar. Do not go to this place unless you like being ripped off.

Gus and the Volsar team really excel at customer service and great craftsmanship. I am always blown away at the honest approach and feedback that I get about my car when I bring it to them for a repair. Very positive experience. Took my Acura TL in for brake related issues, they knew exactly what was causing the noise and how to fix the issue. Comparative pricing among other mechanics in the area but excellent customer service. Honest people! I will not think twice about taking my car to Chris and Gus next time!

Just had my radiator replaced. Gus and his team do a good job. They are very transparent, upfront, and will educate you on what's going on with your car. Gus even went so far as to show me the leaks in my car and describe everything that needed replacing so I could make the best decision possible. He even suggested alternatives to me which would have resulted in me not getting it replaced then and there, but I decided not to deal with the hassle and just get it fixed with him. I appreciate the honesty.

I found a mechanic I can trust at Volsar Automotive. I recently brought my vehicle in for preventive maintenance as my car just hit 70,000 miles and was beginning to run a little choppy. These guys explained to me in terms I could understand what issues they saw with my vehicle. They also noticed that my brakes and rotors were in need of a replacement.

I explained to Volsar that my brakes were recently installed by another mechanic. The guys at Volsar replaced my brakes and put my old ones in a box and pointed out that they were installed incorrectly causing them to wear down prematurely. I brought my car back to the mechanic who did my brakes with the parts and the information given to me by Volsar.

After a brief discussion, I was given a full refund for the botched brake job I received at the other mechanic. Volsar could have just said the brakes were shot and I needed new ones, but instead they went above and beyond my expectations which ultimately lead to a refund from the other place. Thanks again Volsar. Anyways, I waited a few months before leaving this review to ensure the quality of work.

I can say with out reservation that the work done was great and the price was definitely fair. My car has been running great and I will be using Volsar moving forward. Had gone for a last minute oil change at a local Jiffy Lube (I usually try to avoid those places, but I was overdue, and they were open on the weekend). A week later I started noticing massive oil leaks from my car. I took it back to Jiffy Lube suspecting they had messed something up. They told me there was something wrong with my engine and sent me away.

Both concerned and with my spidey sense tingling that something wasn't quite right, Volsar was recommended to me and I went. Gus was great, took me in last minute and immediately noted that Jiffy Lube has misaligned the new filter, resulting in the oil leaks. He fixed the problem quickly at a very reasonable price, and even offered to write up a memo for me to show to Jiffy Lubes customer service for my complaint. I'm glad to have finally found a mechanic I can trust in my area, and will definitely be going back!

A previous shop borked a brake job breaking a rusty bolt and said "here's your car we can't fix it". Was hoping that Volsar would be able to undo the crap job. Brought in my 06 Subaru WRX as soon as they opened up. Spoke with Gus and explained the broken bolt and other issues with my brakes. Also requested an oil change. I left the car at the shop and headed to work.

A few minutes later Gus calls with the list of issues: *New brake pads and rotors all around. *Leaking CV axle. The leaking CV axle I knew about but had been holding off on the repairs. I was happy that Gus spotted it and brought it to my attention. Figuring it'd be a good time to have that done, I OK'd the repairs. By the end of the day I had new brakes, CV axles and fresh synthetic oil! Gus and his crew were able to remove the broken bolt and a few other rusty ones.

We had a slight issue with processing my card for payment. My BOSCH card didn't take so I had to use my regular card. After a few days Gus was able to correct the issue and reached out to me to redo/refund the charges. It wasn't necessary, but I was happy with the customer service that Gus showed. I would not hesitate to bring my car here again. Gus is great!

I heard something pop under my hood as I was driving down I93, and immediately the check engine light came on and I was experiencing reduced power. I decided to find a local mechanic rather than risk parking it and then not being able to start it later that night. Luckily, Volsar was close by and i described the problem to them. Gus was able to determine what the issue was just from the description and let me know that it was probably an engine misfire, and that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. I left the car there over the day, and they let me know when it was ready. The fixed the issue as noted, and for a very good price as well.
