There guys are amazing! My clutch went out on the pass on a Saturday. They let me tow my truck and trailer to the yard. They had it fixed by Tuesday afternoon. Fair price and really nice guys

Had an awesome experience here, brought in the transfer case to my 78 Wagoneer to have some nasty, rtv stuck, seals replaced. These guys were prompt, knowledgeable and beyond friendly and had my transfer case back in a couple days. Super happy, will come back if I need anything else ever done. Definitely felt pretty sore after this unique experience, considering this city we all are fortunate enough to live in. They were pleasant enough. Then, OMG! I was fully aware of the problem, cost of all parts & fluids used, and time it should have taken. Suddenly I discovered that $35 worth of antifreeze and oil purchased at Walmart was actually now costing $115.

A $34.99 plastic antifreeze reservoir from Napa was going to cost me $89.99, a synthetic oil change for a 5 cylinder VW was costing $91. And finally, 45 minutes worth of labor for the whole package costs $190! If I'd have known this was going to happen before my car was lifted and void of oil, and having had a long, frustrating day, I absolutely would have done it myself.

For the actual record, it would have costed a 20 minute round trip to a parts store, about 60 minutes of my own time to do the work, and about $110 total. They charged a pretty good person a total of $258 in parts and $190 for labor for an oil change service and a simple 7-inch globe of plastic that took 5 minutes to replace. I have never ever.and never will again. Thankfully Dad covered the bill though! Neither he nor ANYONE we know will do it again either.

The local Mercedes dealership was short staffed on technicians and booked solid for 6 months. All I needed was an oil change and some fluids and these guys ordered in the OEM parts I asked for and got me in and out within a week. The waiting area was comfortable for my little toddler with cartoons to keep them occupied while we waited. The service here was a better experience than the dealership.

The owner took time to help me out with a diagnostic on my truck to make sure I got over the mountains with no trouble. Took time for me and didn't even charge me because it was a simple maintenance reset. Refused any payment at all. Great people and very responsive. I called up and was there in 20 minutes with no appointment and back on the road a few minutes later!

I just bought a car from Carvana which comes with a 7 day return window. Because it's 7 days, I needed to get the car in for a PPI (pre purchase inspection). The car arrived on Monday and Transolution got me in Thursday. They went over everything and even showed me the fluids. My car is newer with low miles so I didn't anticipate anything but you're always a bit anxious and concerned about upsells.

My car came back as expected with no issues and they recommended no work at this time. That's honesty, and it's hugely appreciated. You guys are fantastic and we have 5 vehicles that will all be taken to Transolution from now on. Also, really, really nice shop. It's rare to see things like drinks and snacks for waiting customers anymore, but these guys take great care of people too! Thanks so so much!

Transmission went out on my 06 Jeep Wrangler in the area and got ahold of Transolutions to rebuild it. Not only did it take them 2 days to get eyes on it but then I was quoted $4,600; the average cost sits around $2,400 so this was insane and no budging on price. Ended up getting my Jeep towed to a cheaper area where I got it done for $1,800. The only transmission Translolutions should be shifting into is reasonable prices.

The crew at Transolution went above and beyond to get us back on the road after hitting a large animal on I-90 that caused significant damage to the front of our car. We had just started out on a road trip from Washington State and we were too far from home to fix the car ourselves. We called the shop Saturday morning and they were able to work on the car that same day.

They replaced the radiator and repaired the front end damage the best they could and got us back on the road by 4 pm. While we were waiting for the repairs to be completed, they even went to pick up the lunch we had ordered. The repairs saved our trip and because of the work they did, we were able to continue on to Maine and then on to North Carolina where we were able to have the rest of the repairs completed. We would have been stranded for a few days in Missoula or had to cancel our trip if the crew at Transolution hadn't helped us out. Highly, highly recommend!

My husband and I were passing through town pulling our camper when the clutch in our f250 power stroke burned out. I was able to call and speak with Brian right before close, who gave us permission to spend the night on his lot and told us he would look at the truck first thing in the morning. After taking a look, he was able to replace the clutch and a few other parts before 5pm same day and get us back on the road.

We weren't over charged and we were treated really well by everyone we spoke to. I would highly recommend anyone in need of transmission or auto work to give them a call. Five star service.

The best service in Montana. We recently had a collision with a local deer. Called TAC and John said "bring it in-we will check it out today". We needed to have all engine, frame, diagnostics checked before driving back to Texas. They were fantastic and gave us assurance the car would make it back without any problems. And we did! I would highly recommend TAC and wished they were in Austin

Top-notch vehicle expertise combined with a level of customer service from a bygone era: In 25 years of vehicle ownership, I don't think I've ever had a more professional and pleasant experience with an automotive servicer. In every way, Transolution went above and beyond! From taking the time to explain vehicle maintenance (and not in the way we often expect--to confuse or obfuscate) to genuine concern about my personal well-being driving a vehicle on the verge of breaking down, Transolution helped me circumvent what easily could have led to a $5000 problem.

I drove four hours to take my Land Rover to this establishment and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Finding someone you trust to do quality work is invaluable--well worth the investment.

Decided to use Transolution as they were very convenient to our home, and as it turned out it was a very good decision.
Chris was awesome, worked with us on the pricing, took advantage of every possible price break he could find as we had brake change, oil change, transmission flush and sensor issues on our Chevy Silverado. Couldn't say nicer things about these guys, give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Very Expensive. PROS: Clean, friendly and efficient. However, it comes with a price, a very high price. My car was sounding terrible, turned out to be the water pump. Due to the high quote from Transolution I took my car to another shop. The quote was $1000.00 less (no typo!)! The cost for the diagnosis at Transolution was 30% higher than all the other shops, which I reluctantly paid. Turned out that the work Transolution had said was needed, was not needed. Comparing the other actual work done on the car to the quote from Transolution, all were at least 25% higher.

If you like paying more and paying for work that doesn't need to be done, this is your shop. I cannot comment on the work they do here, its quite possible they are top notch, I wasn't going to pay $1000 more to find out. I know the shop I went to was exemplary.

Chris and his guys were awesome to work with! My 2004 Sprinter was having turbo issues while in Missoula and they were able to get things figured out. They worked hard to get the repair done well and were extremely pleasant to work with. Most of all they communicated with me during the process. I highly recommend Translution Auto Care!

Thinking about going here? Read the reviews. Our experience is not unique. What they do well: the work they do is quality and we have not had further issues with things they've fixed. What they don't do well: Scheduling, several times I made appointments and they needed to keep my car overnight(s) because they weren't prepared. Billing, they under quoted/overcharged for the work they did on multiple occasions. Ordering, more than once, they didn't get the needed parts prior to my appointment. Communication, they never let you know when the quoted price goes up, that surprise is left for when you pick up the car and it's too late to hold off on the repair.

I quit going here a year ago, but my wife has continued to go for her vehicle. She went in for an oil change. We even had a coupon for a free oil change. (A peace offering from when they messed up one of my repairs.) Anyway, she made her appointment and stayed in the waiting room. They came out, as they do, to show her the air filters and ask if she wanted them to replace them.

She said yes, knowing filters aren't terribly expensive and thinking this would be a good time, since the oil change was free. They finish, she goes up to pay, and the bill is over $200. Not the end of the world, but this is just an oil change. After the discount, it's still $160. In their defense, the filters are expensive, but they should have known that and my main issue is that they didn't make this clear.

As an isolated incident, this is not the end of the world, but after their track record of this type of poor communication and under-quoting repair costs, we are looking elsewhere to get work done. Edit: After posting this, Chris (from Transolution) did call us and apologize for not knowing the prices ahead of payment. Also, as I said, the work itself is done well, it's the customer service where things fall apart.

Fantastic service here! Our AC broke en route from Seattle to Yellowstone, and the local Honda dealership couldn't even give us an estimate of when they could look at it. We found Transolution on Yelp and decided to drop by. They were super friendly and took the car right in to look at. After diagnosing it and giving us an estimate, they kindly offered to shuttle us to the mall and back so that we'd have something to do while we waited. A few hours later, the car was ready and we were back on the road. Highly recommended for fantastic, friendly professional service!

I had continuous trouble with my Audi A6 starting for several weeks, and after trouble with Mountain Auto giving me the runaround for almost a week and charging me while never fixing the problem, I turned to Transolution. Not only did their mechanic come out and talk to me directly, but they were able to pinpoint the problem and my car was fixed the next day.

The only reason there aren't the full 5 stars is that it was a little expensive. But well worth the money if you want a happy car :) Also. their customer service is unlike any I've ever experienced in the auto industry. The owner himself called me several days after I picked up my car to check if everything was running alright. Super friendly and I love visiting their shop dog Champ! (They also have free WIFI if you're stuck there for a few hours!) I highly recommend Transolution Auto.

I was overall disappointed with the service. There was no written estimate and the cost of my repair jumped from $800.00 to $2400.00 plus five days in the shop. Once they took my vehicle apart I felt that I was held hostage to the repairs they said I needed. I don't feel as though they operate with a good sense of business and customer service. I should have checked yelp first. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.

This past summer, I was making the cross-country trek from Washington DC to my new home in Portland, OR. I was packed in my 2002 VW Jetta with some of my belongings, my mother, and my dog. We had been driving for four days and arrived in the parking lot of our hotel in Missoula, eager for a beer and a meal to decompress after our 10 hour drive that day when suddenly, the car wouldn't shift into gear.

Being that it was late on a Friday night, we waited until the following morning to have it towed to Transolutions. As we waited Saturday, we were expecting to be back on the road and en route to Seattle by mid-afternoon. When we received the unfortunate news that the transmission was done and seeing that we had to be in Seattle by 7 the following morning, we decided to leave the Jetta in the hands of the people at Transolutions (a GREAT decision).

I had a commitment to be in British Columbia for work the next month and Transolutions agreed to replace the transmission while I was away, perfect considering that I didn't need need my car on my trip. They maintained great contact with me throughout the process and after my month-long business trip in BC was done, I arranged to fly into Missoula to pick my car up and finally finish the road trip to pdx.

I was greeted at the airport by a Transolutions employee and taken to the shop where I got to thank them for their hard work and finish final paperwork. I am so grateful to Transolutions for accommodating me and my unfortunate blip on my cross-country road trip. Their efficiency and impeccable customer service will always be remembered!

We purchased a 1990 Cadillac in Billings, MT and had to stop in Missoula due to issues with the car not running right. We stopped at several shops and they couldn't fit us in or couldn't help and we had a deadline to get to Portland, OR. The guys at Transolution were great. We have never had a better experience at a mechanic or auto repair shop.

They were incredibly reasonable, friendly, went out of their way to help us and saved us by fitting us in when they were obviously busy. The location is a bit out of the way but the owner's sweet German Shepard, Champ, and beautiful horses nearby, and very nice and comfortable waiting room with wi-fi kept us entertained. If you need help with your vehicle in Missoula, we would definitely recommend this place.

I have a 92 Class A motorhome. I took it to Transolution twice this last year. The first time, it was to check the brakes, do an oil change and a general checkup. I knew it needed some work, and I was thinking about $800 to $1000. Chris, the owner, called me and told me that the brakes on all four wheels needed attention, I needed new shocks, the transmission desperately needed cleaned, etc. etc.

He quoted $3000 +. I told him I couldn't afford that much, so he discussed with me what needed done the most and the soonest, and we worked out a way to come in within my budget. Later in the year, I took it back to Transolution when the power steering unit went out. They replaced the unit and did the rest of the work that was identified earlier, replaced three of the tires, and still came in within my budget.

I have the most respect for, and confidence in, mechanics who will work with a customer to meet their needs, make sure their vehicle is safe, and yet also respect their financial boundaries. Transolution meets this criteria. I'm moving out of state, but if I were to stay here, Transolution would be my regular mechanics for sure.

We were having problems with out Freestyle transmission. When we brought it to other places, they suggested we might need to rebuild the entire transmission. We took it here initially because they were ATRA certified. They pulled the transmission and fixed the problem without needed to do a rebuild. They also worked with out aftermarket warranty to reduce the cost of the service. We will be taking the Freestyle here for any problems in the future. I would recommend them for transmission work.

I can’t say enough good things about Transolution Auto Care and the friendly people that work there. They took incredible care of my 1972 Chevrolet pickup and turned it into a flawless show truck. They did custom engine work, performance upgrades, engine bay paint work, underbody paint work, and it turned out beyond amazing. I highly recommend everyone take their vehicles here for mechanical work and especially recommend anyone with a classic vehicle looking to have it worked on to bring it here!

I couldn't say enough about this place we transport dogs all over the united states when we have trouble they jump on it rite away I see some people complain abought there prices well let me tell you our surburan is on its 3rd engine and we keep replacing the same part over and over again but not this place they fix it the right way the first time so if your complaining abought price if its not fixed the right way the first time it will cost you double to fix it the second time these guys are awesome if you want a honest place they are it they keep us on the road thanks transolution we love you guys

Our experience here has been so amazing. Rolled through town on our cross-country trip to Seattle and needed new brakes. Chris, Ray, and the rest of the staff let us camp in their yard, with our dog, and helped us out in every possible way. Don't know what we would have done without their expertise and kindness. Highly recommended!

These guys are fantastic. We had car trouble in Clinton, MT on our cross country trip on a Saturday afternoon. Missoula Auto Repair Shop Transolution, I used to rely on the fix-it shop when vehicles broke down. Now, I feel confident and wonderfully at peace knowing all my family rides on personal, expert, bumper to bumper maintenance and repair. As a National Guard soldier on R&R from a deployment to the Middle East I was traveling through the area to go visit family when I had a vehicle breakdown. Transolution promptly found the problem but had to order parts which would take a couple days. They gave me a ride to a motel and recommended favorite restaurants and things to see and do in Missoula.

They made my unexpected stay in Missoula a much more enjoyable experience. It is reassuring to know that there are still honest, dependable mechanics out there and I walked away feeling I had made a good friend. For anyone that has the unfortunate experience of a vehicle breakdown I would highly recommend Transolution for all types of mechanical issues and not just transmissions.
