They are clear communicators and take the time to walk me through necessary repairs and allow me time to budget for potential future issues. I visited this business as a first time customer because my check engine light came on. I was greeted warmly and helped right away by Chris.

Fixed my issue in a day. (Windshield Wiper pump motor out) Reasonable price for the work they did. I'll go back again for future service. Very friendly and professional. Down the street from where I am at. I recommend for any auto/truck work. I liked how they call you with updates of issues found and keep you in the loop. Good communication. Great job Auto Doc.

I have taken my 2012 F-150 to The Auto Doc 3 times for various repair items in the last few months and each time, Chris and his team take great care of me and the truck runs like it is brand new. I've been to a dozen different auto repair shops but this one is far and away the best one. If you want highly competent people working on your car, who charge fair prices - this is your spot.

Auto Doc was a huge help when I started having an issue with my vehicle. I had it towed there one afternoon and I was back on the road in 24 hours. Chris was great at keeping me updated as well. I'll be returning for any future work. Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Electrical repair

I came here with my 2016 Dodge Charger for a diagnostic. I'm nearing 100k and want to do the proper upkeep. I set an appointment for the morning of 3/29/22. Diagnosis doesn't take long. Of course it's a plethora of things wrong, I'm expecting this (like I said I'm nearing 100k). I'm straight forward with Chris about what I want to do and how much I can pay. 1) Fuel Detection Pump(check engine light) 2) Front Break System 3) Replace Engine Mount These are the three things we agree upon for the price of $1400.

The turn around is 1 day. I get my car back the evening of 3/30/22 and things seem fine. No! Once I left Auto Doc my tire sensor comes on. I think that's odd because this is something they should've done. Whatever, I go put air in the tires. Next morning 3/31/22 my check engine light is on. I'm like isn't this what I paid to get fixed So I go to AutoZone plug it up to their little machine, take the results to Chris and ask him to get back with me.

He hasn't gotten back with me 4/9/22 I notice my car is knocking while driving. Terrible sound, I feel it in the gas pedal, if I accelerate it gets louder and more obnoxious. I am currently at a different mechanic and according to him the good guys over at Auto Doc left my tire lug nuts loose. How incompetent could you all be! The negligence and lack of accountability is truly SCARY! My tire could've literally came off my car while I was driving!

I've been to this place two or three times now, and Chris is always super friendly and does an amazing job explaining what they plan on doing to your vehicle. It's always great to have that kind of patience when you don't know everything about cars! Always recommend this place to anyone in the area that needs anything. I was under the impression this had already been posted, but recently I found it had not and I believe it's very important to share my experience with this mechanic shop - I took my 18 year old car to Auto Doc sometime in the second half of 2019 and below is a full account of my terrible experience. I have no doubt the fact that I am female and am always mistaken for being 10-15 years younger than I really am played a huge role in what happened to me and my vehicle while in the care of Auto Doc.

From 2019: I took my car in to Auto Doc for an oil change and a realignment two months ago. They call me up saying there were all sorts of things wrong with my car. They said I had a massive oil leak, however, I check my oil levels monthly and I always leave white cardboard boxes under my older car to see if any fluids are leaking. No fluids of any kind had been present on the cardboard and my oil levels had been normal every time I had checked.

After service there though I suddenly had a massive oil leak with a large puddle of oil all over the floor the next morning. They had asked me why I "thought" I needed a realignment and I responded that my friend who is a professional mechanic (of 17 years) for NASCAR replaced some wheel bearings and also did some other front wheel work for me, however, he didn't have the proper tool for a car of my size to do the realignment himself.

They said that wasn't the issue and that I needed $1,000 worth of steering wheel work. Within 24 hours of picking up my car from them, my multifunction switch (signal, wipers, brights, etc) completely pulls out from my steering wheel. They said I needed new coolant housing, however, that had already been replaced two years prior and again, no coolant fluids present had been present on the cardboard.

They told me my tires were almost bald and my break pads had less than 10% left on them, yet my tires had passed inspection the day before and my break pad measuring tool said I had 40% left. They quoted me all sorts of other "necessary repairs" that totaled several thousand dollars. In addition to the oil leak and the multifunction switch, when I picked up my car and drove to a nearby bank, suddenly my car filled with the strong odor of gas and the check engine light came on.

I asked my neighbors for recommendations and each of them responded with "Definitely don't take your car to AutoDoc. They're scam artists".funny you say that! They all suggested a nearby mechanic shop. The other mechanic shop took a look at my car and said there was a puncture in one of the hoses that goes from my gas tank to the engine and the EMF sensor was loose.

They said the oil filter hadn't been properly installed and Auto Doc had over filled my oil tank. Auto Doc had also claimed that my rear-differential was cracked and needed to be replaced. Turns out all it needed was a fluids flush. The new mechanic shop confirmed that other than the now broken multi-function switch, indeed all I needed was a realignment and pretty much everything else they claimed was broken, was totally fine.

They did say the puncture and the sensor could have been from old age, but we all agreed that it was very suspect, considering. Current: It's been over 2.5 years since this all happened and again, everything Auto Doc claimed was wrong with my car and in need of immediate attention is still in good working order today. Still no steering wheel issues (now that the multi-function switch has been replaced), no oil leak, no rear-differential issues, and I drove another year on my tires before needing to replace them and I went another 2 years before needing to replace my break pads. All I can say is, buyer beware. Definitely get a second opinion!

I've taken my GTI here for all service since I got it in 2013 and have never had anything but positive experiences with Dave and Chris! Bedsides all the regular maintenance, they've diagnosed and repaired some electrical and ignition coil issues that have come up over the years, always with prompt, thorough and straightforward advice. Recently, I had a coolant line burst and I had to have my car towed to the shop on a Sunday afternoon when they were closed, they had it fixed and back to me on Monday. Outstanding customer service and I recommend them to all of my friends!

I live in Georgia and my daughter just recently moved to the Houston Area. Her car started acting up and as a father my biggest fear is we take it to a place and she gets ripped off. The Auto Doc was right down the road from her house, so she took it there. She worked with Chris and we could have not had a better experience, not only did he constantly stay in contact with her, but he kept the worried father(me) informed also. She will definitely use them for all of her future automotive needs.

Just moved into the area and have been looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy place to have my vehicle serviced or diagnosed if needed. It's fairly knowledgeable in the workings of vehicle mechanics but have limitations and in those cases need someone that can listen to my issue and then after repairing it diagnosing my issue and not feel as though I'm being spoon-fed.

Both Dave and Chris are extremely knowledgeable and have professional and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to someone looking for a good place to have their vehicle serviced.

I went here because i had a nail in my tire. I was told i could drop it off and pick it up in about 2-3 hours but upon arrival, they were able to fix my tire and send me on my way in 10-15 minutes. Great experience, awesome customer service. Service: Tyres

Really honest and fair mechanic, I highly recommend. Service both our cars and are always helpful and clear about what things need to be done immediately and what repairs can wait or will be needed soon. No surprises at pick up time, everything was cleared before repairs were done. Repairs done in a timely manner, usually same day as drop off. Also, easy scheduling on website which is my preferred method of setting up appointments.

Do not go here. Especially if you're a woman or seem unknowledgeable about cars because they will try to take advantage of you. I meant to write this review a few months ago when I came in but forgot to. Anyways, I brought my car in cause my tire pressure light was on and wanted to make sure my tires were fine. They told me it would be free to check it out.

When they called me and told me to come back in they charged me about $100 to check it out? What? Ok fine whatever I'll pay that. Then they tried to tell me I needed over $1500 of work done and showed me an itemized list of things. I told them thanks, I'll get a second opinion. On the way to another auto shop I noticed I had an ARMY of tiny spiders in my car, specifically crawling on my legs, passenger seat and steering wheel.

They were all over and it took DAYS to get the bugs out from there and my car smelt like bug spray for weeks. I did not have spiders or whatever they were in my car beforehand. But That is not even where the problems end. I went to another auto shop and gave them the laundry list of work that auto doc said I needed to get done. The other place checked my car for free and told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. NOTHING wrong not with the tires - not anything on that list, they said my tire pressure light was just going off cause of the weather. the other shop said they don't like bad talking other mechanics, but they had no idea why autodoc told me I needed 1500$ in work, other than to y'know, scam me.

I was appalled and so glad I got a second opinion. I don't know why they have a "voted best by Houston chronicle" sign when they are genuinely the worst. Do not trust and if you do decide to go here, get a second opinion and maybe even a third! And make sure to bring buy spray. Ugh.

The day before Memorial Day weekend. The shop was swamped and closes at 5:30pm. He was able to squeeze me in to get my tire fixed that clearly has a nail in it from all the construction. As I waited in the waiting are for my tire to be repaired I over heard him talking to other customer via phone. His phone etiquette was amazing. He's verbalized exactly what the customer needed including a few suggestions.

If you are in need of car repairs, go local. Many businesses in our area are going out of business due to Covid-19 but there are a few of the good guys left. Why not try them out! You won't be disappointed.

I was referred to Auto Doc by the AAA driver who jumped my car battery. I took notice of the fact that they had been voted best auto repair by a local publication. I was quoted a price of $525.00 to replace my battery. ($239.00 for the battery and the rest to install, reset computers, etc.). I told the person behind the desk( maybe the owner?) that I had owned the vehicle for quite some time and that I had never paid more that about $350 for a battery.

I told him that I would consult wIth my husband and get back with him. I went to my vehicle and phoned another local car shop. They quoted me a price of $239.00 for the battery, and $89.00 to install, reset computers, etc. I went back inside Auto Doc and told the guy about the difference in pricing. He told me that the other company "must be running a special".

I told him that this pricing was in line with what I've paid in the past. He started fumbling a bit and said something about that being the price that the computer was telling him. I have spoken with a number of other people who have had similar experiences. Don't be fooled by the bells and whistles-compare prices, if you can.

The customer service by Chris is not good, he comes across as kind of rude. I went there after reading lots of positive reviews, the other staff is good, including the owner Dave. But I agree with whoever wrote in their review about them trying to rip off women or treat them differently, Chris didn't break down the charges nor did he let me use 2 coupons separately

Had my car towed here on the recommendation of my insurance (AAA). They got me in just fine and after a diagnostic test, turned out the problem was a lot bigger than I thought. Spoke with Chris and he was super nice, helpful, and gave me some honest advice and options on what needs to be done to the car. Didn't hassle me or push me to do anything, very nice and professional! Did not end up doing any service with them but I would definitely recommend to anyone needing car service!

Called 8:50am Auto Doc today on my way in to work, my brakes were screaming. I was told a service guy named Chris would be waiting for me, and he was 9:00am. He came out to see and told the back brakes needed to be replaced and walked me back up and made quick call for parts and gave me a fair quote 9:05. He offers to get me dropped off at work so I said perfect, and I rolled up yo work on time at 9:15 before my first appointment.

I was called around 12:00 that my vehicle was done and ready for pick up. I couldn't get a way so they came by picked up one of the stylist/coworker checked her out and she brought my vehicle back within 10 min. Go see Auto Doc for the following 1. Outstanding Service 2. Fair Pricing 3. They offer 2yr warranty ( dealer offers1yr) 4. Super Professional Workmanship. Thank you Chris, Santos, and Dave. You guys are awesome.

Honest, reliable, fast! Whenever there is anything wrong with my Jeep I always call Chris first. I'd much rather take my car to AutoDoc than the dealership. We moved out of Montrose 2 years ago and still take our cars to AutoDoc. We've been customers for over 4 years and I'm not sure why it has taken me this long to write a review. 5 stars all around!

Careful folks (especially the ladies)! I bought a Groupon to get my oil changed. Once I arrived, the individual who greeted me told me he was the owner & was super nice & engaging. He even walked me to their family owned coffee shop to wait. After a bit, he walked over to where I was and told me basically my car was failing a part. The oil fluid needed to be changed immediately.

All the filters had to be changed, etc. etc. All of these things were, of course, hundreds of dollars to "fix." After he realized He wasn't making a sale, he had nothing to do with me. In fact, he had his assistant call me to tell me my car was ready (even though I was only a few feet away from them). I took my car to the dealership today & there is absolutely nothing wrong with my car & all of theses things were taken care of when I bought my car a year ago. Auto Doc should be probably be called Auto Crock of Sh.

This place was recommended to me when I was in the middle of the city and all of a sudden my vehicle started overheating. I went to AutoZone to do some self-diagnoses on my vehicle, which I'm not that great at, but did anyway, and saw an AAA employees standing outside. I asked that employee what decent mechanic shop would he recommend and this is the place that he pointed me to.

I really would love to give a bigger and better assessment of the place but I cannot. That is because the people took my vehicle right away and started working on it. I was given to thorough explanation once I was shuffled inside about what charges they were going to do: * The initial diagnosis is will cost a set amount. * If they need to do anything further than the initial inspection showed, then the price will reflect accordingly. * If the initial inspection showcase something minor that can be taken care of simply by that initial diagnosis, then no further charges will be applied.

All I can really say is that they went to the vehicle, diagnosed the vehicle and got everything squared away much sooner than I expected. I need to come back to see if these guys are always this sufficient or if I just called them on an outstanding day. The paperwork states that they give you a warranty on their parts and labor for up to 24 months or 24000 miles, so rest slightly easy that the work has been done properly.

Their street sign let you know that they were voted best mechanics in Houston by two separate entities, so they're just maybe something to their expedient and accurate service. Come and try them out and see if you have a similar experience.

Chris and crew are nice, helpful and professional. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Had some undercarriage issues from the high water today (thanks, Houston!) but they were able to have me back on my way in about 15 minutes for a very reasonable price. Had never been here before since we're kinda new to the area, but we'll definitely be back.

Save your money and go somewhere trustworthy with integrity, like Foster's off Polk. Took my car in to have tail lights looked at. Was never told there would be a $60+ diagnosis when I set up the appointment by phone. I didn't receive anything by e-mail to this effect either. Decided not to have the car serviced here after receiving a quote for 1k to replace a headlight, signal light tails & socket.

We found out about the $60 charge when my partner picked up the car. It turned into a "he said" "he said" type situation. Chris finally agreed to take down the price to $30, BUT LOW AND BEHOLD, WHEN WE TOOK IT TO FOSTER'S THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT AUTO DOC PULLED SEVERAL FUSES AND DID NOT REPLACE THEM. How shitty is that? I'm getting the exact same work done @ Foster's in EaDo fror $450. AutoDoc can eat my shorts.

It is never fun to put your car into the shop. All you can hope for is that it be as painless as possible, and that is where The Auto Doc excelled. My Jeep died, and I had it towed here on a Saturday. They did not open until Monday, but they had convenient forms and a key drop box. First thing Monday morning they called me with an estimate of how much diagnostics would cost.

A few hours later they called me with a repair estimate. They got the parts, and had the Jeep fixed by the end of the day. I couldn't ask for any better service. When I picked the car up they were friendly, and I was out the door in about five minutes. It was extremely painless. The actually have a Yelp check-in special for an oil change. I will definitely go back.

This place epitomizes the old saying "We do work that is fast, good, and cheap; pick any two." I find them to be fast and good. If you're looking to save a buck, you should probably shop around a little, but when you want it done right, they do it right, they meet the deadlines they promise, and they stand behind their work. I had a repaired item fail nearly a year after they'd originally fixed it.

It was under warranty, so they repaired it again, quickly and for free. Respect. Under all the cutesly old gas station signs, this is a a clean, friendly, well-run, and seemingly honest place to get your car repaired. And yes, sometimes your repair bill should come with a free tube of personal lubricant, but on balance, I think it beats the crap out of being overlooked, lied to, and ultimately STILL gouged by the sleazy repair thieves at the dealership. El Rauncho Grande
