My experience with Steve's Imports has been great and they're gonna be stuck with me for a long time. I brought them a 1987 300zx that had been improperly garaged for 20 years and told them to make it run and make it street safe and street legal. Due to age of the car, it took a fair amount of money and an even fairer amount of time. But like I said, that's not on Steve's Imports, it's just the nature of the beast.

They fix and replaced and chased down parts and modified parts and backed their work. A couple times I had issues that they had been working near and around. They couldn't be sure that they caused the issues but they took care of them anyway since there was a chance. It was a difficult process but they communicated well and worked hard with me to get my baby running.

Besides their excellent work, they have exemplary customer service. They shoot it straight with you but are kind and seem genuinely happy to be helping. They're a positive and happy crew, which says a lot about the work culture there and makes a customer feel encouraged about choosing them. Like I said, they communicated well and never seemed annoyed when I called about little things or asked possibly stupid questions. My care still needs a lot more work and I'm happy to be building a relationship with this mechanic.

I have a Volvo v70 that I've been taking here for over 3 years and John Burns has been nothing but a pleasure to work with, the technicians are great and seriously stand by their work. Whatever problems I ran into with my car they always showed that they care, their pricing is fair and reasonable considering they use high quality parts with warranty. I highly recommend steves to anyone looking for a permanent service & repair shop.

I am new to the area so this was my first time at Steve's Imports Collison Center. I brought my Mini Cooper Countryman in for some repairs to my front bumper. John was very upfront about the possible costs but wouldn't know for sure until they took it apart and assessed the damage. Much to my surprise (and delight!) the repair was completed the same day!

I got a call from John and was told there wasn't as much damage as expected so they were able to fix my existing bumper without having to install a new one. My car looks fantastic and they even vacuumed the interior and washed the exterior! I would definitely recommend John and the fantastic crew at Steve's Imports Collison Center to anyone who needs expert repairs or body work. They are my new auto care specialists moving forward because kindness, honesty, and friendliness goes a long way in my book! Thanks John!

Steve's Import is fantastic. I've been using this shop for my BMW needs for the last 2 years and these guys are very professional. John is awesome and takes great care of my E92 335ix. Had my breaks, suspension, and fuilds changed here. Even recommended family to this shop. Just today, our 235i had a issue at the shop and they brought out the scan tool to see the issue right away and was able to help. Thank you David for your time, as I could see you guys were very busy. I would highly recommend.

Still haven't met a Steve, but I've been working with John and he's great! I've got an older Volvo that was really starting to act her age, but these guys have put her back on the road a couple times now. Highly recommend.

Brought my car in for a mystery issue that would pop up from time to time but wouldn't consistently happen. They quoted me somewhere in the $200 range for a diagnostic, and kept my car for multiple days trying to figure it out. When they couldn't replicate the issue, they gave my car back and waived the fee. This alone caused me to now use them exclusively for all of my needs.

It is rare that a shop won't nickel and dime you for everything. Plus, when the issue became more apparent, they were able to fix it quickly and for a reasonable price. I will continue using them, and I think you should too.

5 months ago(refer to Nov 12th 2021 pictures) I was asked to take down a review from Steves Imports & be flexible with them. However recently after they did work on my car, saying they fixed the problem and it should be fine for awhile, the check engine light came back on for the problem I brought it in for. So I checked under the hood and to my surprise my air intake system inlet tube hose OEM wasn't connected & sitting in the engine bay.

Upon putting the tube back on, i found out that its missing the part that connects to the grill(refer to picture of the part) & the only culprit is Steves Imports as they are the only auto shop that has been working on my car. They wanted me to bring it into their shop to diagnose the problem which can cost money depending on if they admit that the problem was their fault or not.

This leaves me with the question of the mechanics skills, ability, & negligent behavior. Which concerns me as a customer as that can lead to further damage of my car or personal injury. I am giving them a 2.5 because they have been helpful but at the same time maybe they should look into who they hire before a lawsuit happens from negligence.

Excellent, competent. fair priced car repair. What more could you want? I've been here several times and they will tell you when they can or can not handle a specific repair.

I had an appointment today at Steve's imports for a CVT transmission fluid service. They gave me an awesome quote over the phone about a week prior when I scheduled the service and everyone I talked to was honest and very friendly. I dropped my car off at 9:30am and they told my the parts would be in during the afternoon and that I should expect a call in the early evening with it being done.

I later received a call stating that my transmission is on its last leg and their mechanic didn't feel comfortable doing the service as it wouldn't have done anything. I rushed over there to pick my car up and they didn't even charge me a fee for not only inspecting my car but for ordering parts and ultimately wasting their time on a vehicle they couldn't repair.

I will 10000% recommend Steve's imports to anyone I know. They are honest, trustworthy and not money mooching like a lot of mechanics I've gone to in the past. This business treats their customers how they would want to be treated and it really shows. Definitely a bummer the way things turned out because I wasn't necessarily expecting to hear that news but what a relief to know that my car is on its last leg rather than to have it die on me while driving.

I had my car fixed by Steve's Imports and they were fantastic. It was necessary for me to get the services of these guys because my car had been severely damaged in a flood and I thought that it was going to be a long, difficult process. However, I didn't have to worry as Steve's Imports were able to fix my car in just three hours

I just had my 2012 Volvo XC60 in at Steve's Imports for general maintenance. They were extremely knowledgeable and took very good care of my car! This was my first time to have my car in service there I am very confident that I will continue to return to have service done on my car. I take my 2015 Volvo for service maintenance for several years. I am always quoted almost spot on to actual costs, and called if there are any updates or issues identified unknown prior to my appointment. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

I got an Audi for my birthday, and I knew nothing about cars. After a few months of struggling, I finally found Steve's Imports. This place has been nothing but amazing to me. Great experience with all my vehicles. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, easy to work with. Have used both mechanical and body shop with very good results. Definitely recommend.

Staff were friendly, responsive and efficient. But they told me my car needed $5,000 dollars worth of work and was unsafe to be driving. I sought a second opinion, completely different diagnosis from another shop. Bummer that some places use scare tactics.

Probably one of the best mechanic experiences I have had. Was on a roadtrip from Nevada and had to bring my CR-V in to them. My car was making a bunch of noises from the front axle which got worse over the trip. I had my car looked at because of this problem 2 other times and neither mechanic could fix it. Steve's Imports took the time to investigate the problem, which was a bad strut job I had done by another mechanic. They fixed my car properly and undid the last mechanics mistakes. My car is running better than ever and they even gave me a free wash! Would definitely recommend them

Took my 16 bmw in for oil change and brake fluid, first time not to dealer ship. I was a little hesitant. But they were very professional and did a great job! Didn't try to up sale and were reasonably priced, my mother in law also used them for her suv bmw

If there were more stars I would gladly give them. This place is incredible. I'm just sorry that I didn't find this place sooner! I believed that having my MINI serviced at MINI of Portland was the only option. Long story short-- and see my other review of MINI of Portland for the deets--MINI of Portland completely dropped the ball with, not only a requested repair, but for scheduled maintenance of my vehicle!

I googled MINI repair and stumbled on Steve's Imports. They promptly identified the issues with my MINI and the poor driving performance (coils and spark plugs) and a slew of other issues not previously corrected. The car drives so smooth and clean. I'm impressed with the speed and efficiency of this place---called December 23rd and car was finished Christmas eve December 24th! Steve's has won my business and I will be returning for both my MINI's in the future!

Very happy with this shop, had it at a different shop who im not gonna name but they couldn't figure it out so I took it to Steve's and these guys sure know what they are doing, they had it fixed the next day I'm definitely recommending this shop to anyone that is driving a late model European vehicle.

I contacted these guys when my car kept dying and finally couldn't start it I had it towed to their shop. I worked with a guy name John, he told me there wouldn't get to it till Monday and I was fine with that! I had called Friday just to see if by chance they got to it and he said it would still be Monday at about 3pm I got a call and he said he had them look at it and it was just the battery and not the alternator like originally thought! Had to wait till Monday to get the battery John called me today (monday) as promised told me my car was ready.

So my whole point of writing this review is These guys were very honest with me could have lied to me and told me it was more wrong than what it was, truth goes a long way with me and these guys held up to that! Honest, super friendly and even washed my car for me when I picked it up. Because of the excellent customer service and the honesty and integrity of this company I won't go anywhere else even if I did pay a couple hundred more dollars than a different company's quote for the battery it was worth it! I will be back and thank you John and Kayla for being so nice in this stressful time I will be back

This was my first visit to Steve's Imports. I brought in a well cared for - one owner 2006 Honda Odyssey 130K for a replacement of the rear motor mount. All my interactions were with John - he did a great job of explaining what would be done and how long it would take. I (really) dislike interactions with businesses & employees that can barely answer the phone with their name - much less - do a competent job of working with a customer that's trying to juggle a car repair & work schedule.

I can't thank John enough for his excellent communication & customer service. Our repair was completed ahead of schedule, and John called to let us know we could pick the car up early if we wished. With 130K miles, our Odyssey has several issues that will require routine maintenance (water pump, leaking CV boots). Based on our first experience with Steve's, we'll be bringing it back to have them perform the work. And they washed it - too.

My husband and I took our 1991 Toyota Hiace into Steve's for multiple repairs: damage to the roof caused by high winds on the I-84 (watch out for those!) and a side swipe to the left side of the vehicle. Based on our requests, they created a panel that the roof top rests on, that deflects winds, and protects the canvas pop top. When they started repairing the side panel, they discovered bondo from a poor repair that had been done prior to us purchasing the van.

They took their time, a bit longer than we had anticipated, but we were really pleased with the results. There were no hidden costs and they always responded to our questions and calls. We would not hesitate to take our van back here for future work.

DO NOT take your car to Steve's Imports unless you want to be lied to! I took my 2013 VW Jetta Diesel for an AC diagnostic and repair. I initially paid $189 just for the diagnostic, and John told me it's needs a total AC replacement for $2800! I told them no thank you! A year later, my check engine light came on, and I just didn't want to deal with another bad news so we sold it for cheap to a diesel mechanic.

We told him ac needs repair and engine light was on, but he bought the car anyway. He fixed the car himself and called us to let us know it was a sensor for $300. You are liars Steve Imports!

I brought my sprinter van to Steve's imports to get tuned up and looked over after a 3,000 mile drive and they were great! They were very easy to get in touch with. John went out of his way to get my van to the lot. They did a thorough inspection. I was able to talk to Sam, the tech, who explained everything to me. Upon picking it up they were very personable and answered all of my questions and pulled Sam in to explain a few other things. The van is running great and I feel at ease after bringing it to them. Thanks for the quality service!

Before and after repair from an accident I was in. can't even tell I was hit! Super impressed with the work that was done!

WOW Just wow! I have gone to a lot of places for service. No one comes close to Steve's! Across the board! They just went above and beyond the call of duty. If you are in Portland and need a great shop look no further! This place is great!

My VW New Beetle was vandalized. John S. was able to get me in for an estimate right away and was helpful in dealing with my insurance and awesome throughout. Thanks so much!
