Sterling Automotive Service is a full service auto repair facility providing quality automotive repair that is convenient, expedient and reasonably priced. We are family owned and operated with ASE-certified master technicians on staff to provide accurate vehicle repairs when you need them. At Sterling Automotive Service, we are committed to to keeping up with the constantly changing technology in the automotive field while satisfying the individual needs of our customers, treating our customers and employees with honesty, respect, and professionalism, providing quality parts and service at an exceptional value, and recognizing that satisfied customers are the foundation of our business.
We provide complete air conditioning service for R134A. We utilize environmentally safe equipment and facilities. Our technicians are experts at A/C System problem-solving and we are certified to charge your A/C system. Alternators are part of your starting and charging system and problems are fairly common.
We are the only mobile emissions van in Washington state authorized by the department of Ecology to perform emission testing on site for your company fleet. We test all Gas and diesel vehicles. In most cases, we can travel anywhere in Washington to test on site and can do up to, and above 50 vehicles in one day.
John and his wife Janette enjoy serving Puget Sound Customers. He is a member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) and has completed many technical training courses. In addition, he has also completed service writing courses, as well as courses focusing on customer service. John takes pride in his ability to keep our customers #1 while solving their automotive needs.

There aren't enough good things to say about Sterling. I brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7 Hemi to them a couple months ago for spark plugs and coil packs. They offered to do a full vehicle check-up just to make sure we weren't missing any major issues - to which I knew there would be based on how the rig was driving and the warning lights that had popped up on my dash.
I'm glad they did that check-up because it turned out there were several issues with my rig that made it unsafe to drive/ issues that could've left me stranded. But what really stands out to me was the demeanor with which they handled telling me about the issues. I didn't feel like I was being upsold on anything; you could tell they genuinely did not like having to deliver the less than ideal news.
They addressed my cracked intake manifold, the 4x4 not engaging, as well as brake lines that weren't working properly. They got the parts needed quickly and performed the work quickly. Sterling came recommended by family, and I'll be driving the 2 hours it takes to get to their shop the next time I need work done.

It was a real bummer when the local shop I was going to closed. I pass by Sterling's every day and decided to give it a shot when I needed some work done on my truck. They are more than fair, do excellent work, are communicative and are honest. Everything you look for in a shop. I've gone back again since and will continue to give John my business with all of my vehicles. Please don't retire anytime soon

Excellent & honest service! I won't go into much detail on what I had done to my SUV but just know after my experience with Sterling Automotive they have a customer for life! It's amazing when you drive away from a mechanic feeling like you DIDN'T get taken advantage of and that's exactly how I felt. Also the property is gated! Service: Engine repair

I can't say enough good things about Sterling! We have been bringing our vehicles here for years and they have always been amazing! They are honest and trust worthy, they don't try to sell you things you don't need, they are kind, professional, and prompt in their service. Plus they have rescued me at broken down vehicles not once but twice! I would never bring my car anywhere else!

Had a really great experience here. John took the time to explain everything to my husband, even though he was incredibly busy and had already explained what was wrong with my vehicle to me. In addition, he sourced parts overnight and completed the job incredibly fast so that I could have my car in time for work. Also had great experiences with the nice lady who answered the phone a couple times. All around really pleased with the customer service. Won't hesitate to bring my vehicle here again.

I have a heavily modified vehicle. Places like Les Schwab And other chains do not want to do in alignment. Sterling was very knowledgeable and friendly did the alignment quickly for a very good price. I drove the truck 6 hours to Oregon. Ran it in the sandians and then 6 hours back With no problems or unusual tire wear. I will definitely be using this shop again.
