Robert Macherione's passion for sports cars can be traced back to visiting the New York Auto Show every year with his father at a young age. Bob's passion for sports cars led him to Phoenix Arizona where he quickly gained employment at a British car dealer. All matter of British and Italian sports cars have passed through his hands over the years.

A skilled technician, Bob moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1980 and worked for British Automotive until stepping out and forming Sports Car Shop in 1982. As it was difficult to find a group of technicians that could repair and restore sports cars with a high level of quality and passion, Sports Car Shop quickly grew and became recognized in the region.

I hit a tire on the freeway and damaged the rain guard under the car. I managed to limp into the shop and they instantly put my car up on the rack and repaired and re-attached it. Never even charged me a cent. Super nice people and came to my rescue. Highly recommend. Service: General repairs & maintenance

Have been coming here for years and always impressed with the personalized and first class service I receive. Staff always goes out of their way to accommodate and make sure I know my options and just what is up with my "Cats". They have a customer for life with me and worth checking out if your European car is needing service.

A relaxed no BS shop with extremely nice employees. Brought in (was towed in haha) my 1998 BMW 528i for a new alternator and valve cover gasket replacement and could not be happier about how I was treated. Plus they gave me an awesome loaner for the weekend. My car has found a new home.

I was on a road trip from Seattle to San Francisco and couldn't get the trunk to close on my Mini Countryman, and I couldn't open it because a piece of fabric was stuck on the inside latch. I stopped by this amazing auto store at the recommendation of the local gas station, and I received WORLD CLASS help and attention. They immediately jumped in to help me yank the fabric out despite the car being completely full with a bicycle, suitcases, boxes etc.

They refused to take any money despite how relieved and grateful I was. In addition, they noticed that my rear bumper was damaged and helped me pop it back into place, helped smooth it down and gave me advice about how to get the scuffs and scrapes removed when I told them I was going to sell it. And they still wouldn't accept any money for it.

The owner of the store spent almost an hour with me giving a ton of unsolicited advice about how to get the most for my vehicle, teaching me some tricks about trading in at a car dealership versus going for a private sale. I feel like I got a crash course in auto repair, sale and purchase thanks to Bob Macherione, the owner and all for free. Very impressed with their professionalism and their personal touch. I highly recommend their services to anyone.

Super great friendly staff and experienced, well trained, quality care! Those saying they are over priced must lack understanding of specialty care. They may be more than your local Chevy dealer because they don't generally deal with generic Chevy Cruzes. The value is definitely there. Go ahead and bring your specialty vehicle to the cheap guys and let me know how that works for you.

I bring my Jaguar S Type here anytime I need something done. Multiple times I've brought it in thinking it was going to be a big fix, committed to paying for it and it ended up costing nothing thanks to their honest and efficient service! They could've easily taken advantage of me multiple times but never have. THATS what you are paying for. Honest specialty work from techs with passion and education!

They always offer a loaner car and the showroom is an experience in it self. Support a local business that believes in honest, quality care and longevity with their clients! Thanks guys!

I purchased a '74 MGB roadster from these guys in 2005, and they were very good at communicating information about the car, helpful in making the sale and helping with getting the car shipped to me in Southern California. And the car was, and is, in great shape, too! I'd use their services more often, but they're not exactly local to me!

After a couple intriguing referrals I stopped in today to visit Bob at the Sports Car Shop with my Jaguar S Type. I was impressed that Bob was there to personally receive me and pursue a solution to the stereo issue with my vehicle. Though I am not too familiar with Bob or his shop I find his knowledge and enthusiasm for the cars in which they service very contagious and admirable.

After multiple hours at the shop, I left feeling that I was treated in a caring way. Isolated incident or common way he takes care of customers? We'll see as I am expecting a follow up appointment soon and will be right back here on the reviews to inform everybody how it goes good or bad. 5 stars now for Bob and Sports Car Shop.5+ stars if they take good care of me again. - Jacob

Took my '96 Jaguar XJ6 in already a couple of times, and I couldn't be happier. Not only did they look over the car when I bought it, they gave me a prioritized list of needed repairs, and pointed out several that could wait. I also had them take a look at my sunroof, which was not working at all at the time. Not only did they identify the issues and secure the parts, they refunded me much of the labor when they were unable to get it to close to their standards, even though they put a lot of time into trying to get it right!

Bottom line, they are super-friendly and honest in their dealings. I've never felt any better about trusting a car to a service shop, and they've been great. Highly recommended for anyone with a luxury/sports car.

Too bad Mr. Eugenified felt ripped off at the Sports Car Shop. Owning a car like an MGB is an avocation that requires patience and money. If the sums needed for the avocation exceed funds available for the hobby, or one doesn't have the patience for old classic cars then like Eugenefied E. another hobby should be pursued. How bout a Toyota or Subaru or a US brand daily driver.

We just had our old 73 Porsche 914 restored to daily driver condition by Landon at the Sports Car Shop. Cost was a reasonable expense for a well executed project that we could afford at this time. Bob, Josh Landon et al are great guys to work with and highly recommended. I'll update this after our next experience with SCS.

My experience with the sports car shop has been first class. You can count on The Sports Car Shop to repair and or maintain your European car or Land Rover right the first time. After reading other reviews; the two customers that state this shop is over priced: You get what you pay for! This shop has always repaired my quirky vehicles to a high degree of quality and they stand behind their work!

I own a Mini Cooper and there are very few places that I can take it to be serviced. The Sports Car Shop has become my favorite place in Eugene to take it. It is a little expensive but the service is excellent, the mechanic is knowledgeable, and I have repeatedly felt like they have given me the pros and cons of having something fixed without trying to pressure me into more services than I really need. I would recommend their services to all Mini Cooper owners.
