I love these guys. Some ways back, I had a flat tire; they were so nice to me at SpitFire, I thought, the next time I buy tires, this is where I go. Great choice! The price was what I expected, installed in about an hour, and everyone is super-nice. No one treated me like a stupid girl, which is a huge step up from a lot of other places. I'm telling everyone about this place.

Filled out the online form to request an appointment, but never got a reply. Guess they didn't need any more customers. A shop down the street did.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value Took my 2009 Hyundai Sonata to get inspected, they quoted me an insane price and then they proceeded to crash my vehicle in the process of the inspection which made my car worse then it already was. TERRIBLE COMPANY DO NOT COME HERE BY ANY MEANS Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was very pleased with the service i received! I had an oil change on my vehicle, scheduling was easy as they had an online option and i received a very quick confirmation email for the appointment. I arrived early and was checked in with no problem. They did a vehicle inspection, lubed what needed to be lubed on the vehicle ( I could actually see them do it) and performed what you would expect to go with an oil change.

I have paid more for oil changes and did not feel I had the same level of service or inspection from a mechanic. As I was waiting they spoke to two different customers gave them very detailed diagnosis and I did not feel like they were trying to gouge as many services as they could. One of the customers was told that the cost of what was needed didn't seem logical due to the $ worth of the vehicle, "it's my job to make money for the shop, but it just doesn't seem like it makes sense here". I was very happy to hear a mechanic being honest and thinking of the customers wallet. Honesty, affordable and peace of mind well worth 5 stars!

I recently moved from the Northside to Oak Lawn and was looking for a good mechanic on this side of the city. I checked out many places on the internet and saw that Spitfire had the best reviews. I called and spoke with Al who told me to come in right away. I needed a wheel alignment. I was in and out in 45 minutes and the price was reasonable and fair. Al and I had a great conversation. This place is top notch and I highly recommend them. Dan Burns

They did great work on my SUV. The labor cost was pretty minimal since it ended up being a quick job but they diagnosed the broken high pressure sensor and replaced it in under 2hrs. They got me in right away without an appointment, explained exactly what was wrong and didn't go through with anything without my permission. They'll definitely be getting my continued business.

I've been going to Spitfire for about a year now. Al, the manager, is great. He and the mechanics are very knowledgeable. Everyone there is very friendly. It's also the cleanest shop I've been in! This last visit I was pretty sure I needed new brakes so out of curiosity, I priced out 4 other shops and Spitfire. Spitfire was the lowest for brakes! I also got an oil change, air filter, and vehicle check (lights, fluids, tires etc) They diagnosed an exhaust issue but it's something I can wait on for a while.

So the bottom line is that you can go to a place like Pep Boys, get overcharged, and have to go back five times to get something fixed. OR you can go to a quality shop like Spitfire where they have the skills to diagnose a problem, explain it to you, and then fix it. And it STAYS fixed! And Al, I passed the emissions test ~ Yay!

AVOID this company mainly because take advantage of their customers. They offer overpriced parts and labor and gave me run around for commitment on completion time- WORST service in town.

They may be a tad more expensive than some other shops, but the service makes it worth it. I've had some rather extensive work done on two of my Ford Escapes, and Al kept me informed every step of the way. If something was found that would add to the original estimate, I was called before the work was done. The shop is very clean (much cleaner than my garage), and everyone there seemed friendly and eager to help.

It took us a few years to discover this place unfortunately. The prices are usually a bit higher than average, I am willing to pay a bit more to keep going here. I like to try to get second opinions on my car whenever possible. These guys never try to sell me things that are not needed but make recommendations on what is going to be needed in the near future and let me make the final decisions. As most of the other guys try to tell me the options work needs to be performed immediately. I appreciate their honestly and they have always done quality work for me.

My check engine light was on. An ongoing problem for 2 years now. Kept coding the catalytic converter or something like that. I had it replaced last June. This morning I had my car towed to Spitfire and later in the afternoon, my car was ready for pick up! The service was surprisingly timely! That's a good sign. Let's see how well a job they'll do.

When I picked up my car, I had reservations about them actually addressing the issue with my car. That's based on my past experience with other mechanics. The other place I used to take my car to never seemed to know much about what was going on with it, even after they "fixed" it. The guys at Spitfire were very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and so far so good!

My car seems to be on point! I'll write another review in a couple of weeks, good, bad or otherwise (whatever that is)! 08/30/2016 I'd forgot about following up with this post. So far so good. I continue regular maintenance with Spitfire Automotive and they're on point. Really good guys. Knowledgeable and excellent customer service! I agree with another poster on here; cleanest shop I've seen!

$1000 for a catalytic converter? 2001 Toyota Rav 4? Should have went somewhere else.

September 2011. Engine Diagnostic Test = $98+. Quoted $750ish for repairs, $350 for part and $400 for labor. Googled part online and found how simple it was to purchase and replace. Picked up part locally for $208 for Carquest and installed in less than 30 minutes. This place is a joke.

I'll just say this "Garbage". Their technicians are not knowledgeable and the manager was an ass and the way he was chewing his gum was screaming "Dirt Bag". Never will I come back here again.

An engine Diagnostic Test = $78.88 They found close to $1,000 stuff of repairs with my car, with the actual parts costing about $400 with shipping after I googled them. Their waiting area sucks if its hot outside even with the AC being on. They explained to me what was wrong with the car at an average level. nothing too extraordinary. I should have gone to the Car-X right across it, either ways I will just wait till this car breaks down and buy another one because paying $1000 on car repair is not worth it.

Finally! A car repair shop that not only does things right in their state of the art facility, but they garuntee their work. Awesome. I had gone to numerous different car repair shops that were quoting me at least about 500 dollars to repair the passenger side lower control arm and a couple of other rinkydink things. But $500+ dollars is a decent amount of money no matter who you are.

Plus to have someone look at the car and make an estimate takes at least a half an hour and sometimes costs money. So after geting quotes from about 4 different shops, I finally brought my car to spitfire and was nearly floored about what happened. They looked at my car and within 15 minutes they had diagnosed the problem and had given me an estimate.

The funny thing is that the previous four places that had quoted my and told me that certain things were wrong with my car, they were wrong. As it turns out it was my stabilizer bars, and a missing bushing on the passenger side. That was it. So within a couple of hours after dropping my car off it was fixed, plus I saved more than $150 bringing my car here.

So my recommendation is bring your car here. The work and parts are usually garunteed, they have more specialty certifications than any other garage I've seen. Not to mention they have state of the art equipment.
