I ordered a custom driveshaft from these amazing people 10 years ago. It has survived an intense life and I will forever use these great folks for any/all my driveshaft needs. I also got to meet one of the owners (David) today just by chance as I was right down the road picking up something for the jobsite. Gotta say it was amazing to meet the guy and it was so awesome to meet such a down to earth individual! KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK

A couple weeks ago, while plowing snow, I was presented with a horrid grinding noise upon activating 4wD. Thoughts of stripped ring gears and bad transfer cases came to mind but upon further inspection, we determined, the front driveshaft spline had stripped out. Definitely could be a worse problem. Several phone calls to my usual auto parts stores later and I was armed with what I perceived as unfortunate news.
A replacement drive shaft isn't readily available because of the age of my truck. I was directed by a mechanic I trust to a shop that rebuilds driveshafts. I asked "What kind of cost should i expect?" They replied "You'll have to bring it in." So I called around and asked more shops. Everyone I spoke with said they needed to look at the old drive shaft to let me know any price.
I run a business. If you ask me an approximate price for my services, without blinking I can give you a general price range, if the task is much more involved. Often i can crunch some numbers and still get an approximate cost. I'm suspicious of a business that has no idea what amount of money they want. None offered to crunch some numbers and get back with me.
So enter Shaftmasters, I gave them a call. I started to explain what I needed to the nice lady that answered. She immediately connects me to who i need to talk to. The gentlemen was very knowledgeable about my driveshaft and they could build one better than OEM. I offered to bring him the old one for comparison. He said no. They were very familiar with this specific defect and knew what was necessary.
I was told it might be 48hrs, they had it ready within 24hrs. I was given the actual price to build it over the phone. Now it's installed in my truck. The shaft itself looks much more beefy than factory and was a direct fit. No hassle installation. Shaftmasters didn't waste my time with "We have to look at it and we'll let you know." No nonsense approach to business. If i ever need another drive shaft, I'm not going anywhere else. It's a long round trip for me but worth it.

Excellent quality and workmanship with very fast service! I've dealt with poor quality auto parts store propshaft CV joints for years. A lifetime warranty made it somewhat tolerable, until I received 3 defective units in a row- it was time for a custom double carden shaft to replace it. A few short emails to Shaftmasters, and it was all sorted out! Good thing too, because the CV joint went out again right outside their parking lot!

I have a 4x4 and as soon as the vibrations visit once every 3 years I head to a driveshaft shop. Well, this time, I did it myself and discovered that last guy stripped the nuts so I had a heck of a time cutting the bolts. I try to remove the u-joints myself but fail due to corrosion. Anyway, I'm steered towards Shaftmasters by the internet so I pay them a visit.
These guys do custom shaft builds, standard stuff, anything. David is the guy that seems to run things and he's about as honest as you can get. The balancing is about $ 45 and u-joints are about $15, installed. You can't beat this. Quality is A-1. Good people. Yes, I'd recommend a friend! You can also ask David for his recommendations on where to take your car for other repair. We need more shops like this.

Over the years I have dealt with quite a few different transmission shops when it came to replacing u-joints or driveshafts, most of which were overpriced and shady operations to boot! I am happy to have finally found a reputable business in which to turn when the need arises. I called after hours when I found their listing in my local Yellow Pages, and my call was still answered and we were able to setup something for the following day.
After dropping off the part just prior to the store closing on a Tuesday, I was told said part would be ready on Thursday. Wednesday afternoon I was contacted to pick up the driveshaft which had both joints replaced and the entire assembly was spin balanced after the harmonic balance ring had broken from the shaft. These guys do great work and I will never go anywhere else when a need arises!
They will be recommended to all who ask me where to go in the future! Thanks to everyone at Shaftmasters for your expedient and quality service, it will not be forgotten! After all was said and done my part was finished for about $65.00, I was quoted a price before work began, which was also nice since most of us are on tight budgets these days!
