My head was whirling over the $400+ quote from a dealership and I happened to drive by Roy's Quality Car Care. I stopped in and explained my problem, I had the required part but couldn't detach the connector for the MAF sensor. The guy up front called a tech who kindly detached the connector and answered all my questions. Fixed it myself for $12. Roy's Quality Car Care has my business hands down.

I came from WV to Maryland for a relative funeral and was some what upset and went to a gas station and accidentally put diesel in my car and I didn't realized it. Then I had gotten about 1 mile up the road and my car just started smoking and just died on me. Roy's garage stayed on my car trying to help get it going and stayed extra 3 hours trying to get me back on the road, Terry the mechanic was just determined to get us going. I would take these guys back to WV with me if I could. 5 STAR GARAGE FOR SURE. Thanks fellas for the care you gave me and my car.

We were 1.5 hours into an 8 hour road trip and experienced a loss of collant. Nothing I was going to be able to fix myself. We got off the highway and googled a car repair place near me. Roy's came up and was well reviewed so I called them. The gentleman answering the phone was friendly and said they would take a look. Long story short, it was a significant repair that took about 3 hours and was done well.

Everyone working there was very friendly and really cared. They got us back on the road and saved our trip! Outstanding establishment, if I lived in the area I would use them for everything! Could not have been a better experience! If I could rate them as a 10 out of 5 I would.

I originally left a comment but after finding the owner blocks comments of customers who do not see eye to eye with their performance. I'd thought I'd review instead. The previous management is not the problem. Lack of since is probably closer. My fleet of 19 vans used to frequent here and I could guarantee that I'd get correct diagnosis and repairs that wouldn't break the bank, as a not for profit that was my top concern as Children's safety will always come first. True character is clearly being displayed on this page, judge that as you will.

The car I took to them to "fix" almost got my mom and nephew killed. My moms car wouldnt start on Monday July 12th, after some effort i got it to turn over. I drove it to Roy's and had them check what the problem was. After finding out what they needed to fix jordan quoted me $2062. Ok. I knew it needed a tune up, so I asked him to do that while he did the other work. Turns out that tune up was an additional $1800.

He didn't even consider giving me a courtesy call to let me know this huge extra expense for the extra parts. I didn't appreciate being that shocked when he told me the final cost. When I take my mom to go to pick up the car and pay the bill, another shop worker drove the car out front for us. After she buckled my nephew in his car seat she get in to drive off.

She get about 600 feet from the building and knows something is not right with the way it is driving. She does a u turn and bring it right back. She had to stop the guys in their car because they were about to leave for the day. She explains the front end is wobbling. So Jordan gets in the car to drive it, and that's when my mom and I notice the front right tire is almost about to fall off.

They didn't tighten any of the lug nuts! One of them had fallen off on the road before she had turned around. Now if she would have gotten down the road a ways that whole wheel would have came off, most likely causing a wreck, and could have gotten her and my nephew in that car killed or seriously injured, not to mention any bystanders caught in the cross hairs.

I know lug nuts don't just completely loosen that much in such a tiny distance. He then tries to tell me that he personally drove it and didn't notice any problems. Which felt like a slap to the face because he just straight lied to me. An experienced mechanic drove that car and couldn't tell how bad the whole front end wobbled. I don't buy that. After he had to replace 2 of the lug nuts, and tighten not just all of them on that wheel, but also on the left side too, he told me it sometimes just happens that they come loose. No, not that loose where they fall off.

So not only did he lie straight to me, he then tried making excuses for his unsatisfactory, life threatening neglect of the work he did. Or didnt do I should say. I am currently trying to get in contact with "Roy" the owner. Apparently Jordan, who works there, and also the other mechanic have no idea how to reach the owner. And there is no manager they report to because he quit. If anyone actually read this whole review and can give me advice on how to contact to owner of this garage I would be grateful.

Took Mother-in-law's car in is it wouldn't start. They put a new starter which was $550. Then it needed brakes and a shock and a few other things. Quoted $2062 for all that. Ok cool. Told them to give it a tuneup as well while it was in there. Received a phone call when it was done.$3800 was total. WHAT.? $1800 for a tuneup. I'm just saying a phone call would've been nice.

One minute of there time to let me know. Car is probably only worth $2000. Maybe it's part my ignorance but I never thought a tuneup on a car would be $1800. I KNOW WHERE ILL NEVER GO AGAIN!

I want to thank Alan and Cindy for assisting me with my car needs. I was having a problem with my car not going over 10 miles per hour and Alan searched for the best way to handle my problem. It was fixed within an hour and I picked it up the next day. They both communicated with me through the entire process and findings. Thank you Alan and Cindy. 3/31/21 The best

On the way to vacation we developed a sudden exhaust issue. Happened to be near an exit and had already planned to stop there for gas and breakfast. While getting gas we looked up and saw Roy's. Worth a try (we didn't have a lot of options, ). Walked in and they looked at it, figured out a fix, got a part from the parts store and had us back on the road in under 2 hours for a very fair price. Good guys!

I called Roy's to get an estimate on an oil change and was given their price. It was good so I scheduled an appointment. The work was done very fast but the problem was when I checked out. When the front desk person told me the total I informed him that I had been told a different amount and that is what I was expecting. All he would do is tell me the price he had stated.

He gave no reasoning nor did he try to deal with the issue. I paid so that I could get out of there. Before leaving I asked to see the manager. I was told no, that he was working on a car. To have someone completely ignore what you are saying and to have them not even try to speak with a manager or someone about it is such poor service. But to be told I could NOT speak to a manager is beyond poor service.

I am beside myself with Roy's. They had my vehicle for over a month. Failed to diagnose the issue. Could not produce the defective part they replaced. Then they gave up and told me to have it towed somewhere else. I did. The other shop had to go back over the entire vehicle. Roy's didn't replace a fuse they had removed and didn't install the new part correctly.

Once those issues were fixed, the vehicle started again. Roy's also took a hack saw to the exhaust for some unknown reason. The only solace was that Roy's didn't charge me for the lackluster work preformed. This is why mechanics are so difficult to trust. Avoid this place.

During a recent road trip, my car needed unexpected service. I pulled off the highway and into Roy's with no appointment, but they were able to immediately take care of the problem and send me on my way. I very much appreciated Alan's friendliness and professionalism, and I highly recommend this business.

I recently had a hole in the side of my tire. He didn't have the tire in stock, but he ordered, it was delivered the same day and INSTALLED that day! I was amazed at not just the customer service but the time I didn't have to waste by going here for my car service!

Roy's quality car care was very helpful to me. I was having a difficult time sourcing some misplaced hardware after an extensive diy repair. He quickly understood my problem, and provided me what I needed. Thank you so much. I got the car back on the road that night!

This Shop is the best place to go to when you need car service. The Manager Alan has been so helpful and I have even called in to get rice quote and never once been over charged. Always honest and up front. They are friendly and fast and very smart with car and car issues. I have been bringing my cars here since 2009 and even though i no longer live near Hagerstown I still drive the half hour to them. Alan is really customer oriented and loves what's he does. I will never take my cars anywhere else. You guys are the best

I wanted to take a moment to give 5, count them FIVE, stars to Roy's Quality Car Care, and in particular their driver, Richard, who picked me and my car up in his tow truck after I'd broken down on the side of the road. Richard was very friendly and helpful, and went out of his way to contact his boss so that his garage could fix the problem with my car (after AAA had pointed Richard and I to an address of a business that was no longer in existence, Richard suggested we take the car to Roy's).

After he dropped me and my car off, the mechanics there fixed the small problem (broken exhaust heat shield) in no time flat, and they sent me on my way without even charging me for it. In short, if you find yourself broken down on the side of any road near Hagerstown, MD, get in touch with these guys. I've never had a better experience when dealing with car problems, than this one.

The fact that they didn't charge me for the easy fix is inconsequential; it's the friendly, helpful service that matters most, especially when your car's had a problem! Hats off to these guys!

I'm finally getting around to writing this review! I took my car to Roy a while back, and my experience was wonderful. I dragged my father along, and he was so impressed that he's decided to take the family cars here in the future. I typically hate going to the mechanic because of how patronizing and rude mechanics can be. Roy is neither.

He leveled with me about my repairs, and he had some very fair prices. This is truly a mom and pop shop - we even met his wonderful wife! It's a great business for anyone to patronize, but especially if you've had negative experiences at auto repair shops - as a female, I've had my fair share. Roy's is the place to go if you want fair prices, a pleasant experience, and the truth.
