One of the first and most important things I do when moving to a new city is to find a mechanic I trust. I first chose RMS because they are a brisk walk away from my house. Holy Cheese Balls, did I get lucky with these people! I had a check engine light that couldn't make up its mind, turning on and off over the duration of a few weeks. When I first brought it in, Chris and the front office staff made me feel so comfortable (despite my complete lack of knowledge regarding cars).

They were extremely patient, ultimately able to diagnose that the check engine light was communicating a false malfunctioning in the fuel system pressure. They manually tested the pressure, determining that the true malfunction was with one of the fuel system's sensors. When I called to check-up on the car, Whitney gave me a whole lesson in what the heck was wrong with it and patiently answered my ridiculous amount of questions.

The time they all took to walk me through the issue and educate me on the car's parts makes this shop stand apart from the rest. They were honest about what repairs were urgent and which weren't, and they didn't spend a single second trying to bamboozle me into spending more than I needed to. When it came time to checkout, the front desk staff even did one final check to see if there was any way they could save me money on the diagnostic. LIKE WHAT.

As a girl significantly ballin' on a budget, I am so grateful. They genuinely care about their customers and this neighborhood, and this will absolutely be my car's shop for as long as I'm in the area. GO RMS!

Quality service and fair pricing; however, they need to value customers time more. Scheduled an oil change for early Monday morning over the phone. When I scheduled they said they were completely open that day. Not sure what happened in just a few days, but when I show up at 9am they said it wouldn't be ready until the afternoon. Ended up being ready at 1:30. 4.5 hours for an oil change seems excessive, especially when you schedule an appointment first thing in the morning.

I rely on my car and can't afford losing it for half the day just to get an oil change. I will be coming back for any major repairs I may need, but likely will find somewhere else for regular maintenance that puts a higher priority on customer's time.

I did a vacum test and put dye in my system of my refrigerant line for my AC. I went to RMS with the conclusion that I had a leak in my AC. I was not exactly sure where the leak was but I had it isolated to pretty much the evaporator core. I brought my Truck in to for RMS Auto Care to do the replacement because I did not want to remove my dash alone.

They wanted an absurd amount of money and I asked how much they rates were per hour. She told me it varies per job. That is not how you conduct business at automachenic shop. There should be a flat rate that you charge everyone the same amount per hour. I had to leave the business before I got ANGRY. "The One Eyed Mechanic" - Maybe if he had two eyes he could do the job faster! I got the job done for a fraction of the price doing it with a friend!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the people at RMS! Everyone I dealt with (namely Whitney!) is so lovely and they went above and beyond in helping me resolve an issue with my car. Ultimately the problem related to a part that was under warranty with the car manufacturer, so it needed to go to a dealership for the repair work. RMS staff explained that even though I had the original work done at a dealership in Austin the warranty would still be honored by a different dealership here in Houston (something I would not have known without their help!) and they even called ahead for me to make sure the dealership understood the situation/knew to expect my call.

To top it all off, they didn't charge me for the diagnostic tests they ran at RMS, and sorted me out with a free ride home the day I dropped my car off. Great karma flowing through this building and everyone who works there!

My battery died and my car wouldn't start a couple blocks away from RMS. I thought of them immediately despite not being there before due to a flyer I'd gotten in the mail. They went above and beyond to be helpful in getting back on the road and back to work. Highly recommend! Service: Battery

I have used RMS for decades. I have always found them to do an excellent job. They get busy, because they are an excellent shop, but are straightforward about timing. Car repairs can be stressful, but using their services is a good experience all around.

This place was awesome! My lower engine cover was bent due to the constant abuse from the potholes in Houston. The RMS team fixed the minor issue FREE OF CHARGE, showcasing the teams's customer first approach and not just looking to nickel and dime you like other mechanics do. They do get super busy over the weekend so it's worth noting to book an appointment in advance. Definitely coming here again!

RMS is now my go to automotive shop after recently moving to the city. I am so glad I stumbled upon this little hidden gem of a place. Whitney and Chris are so patient, thorough, genuine, and really knowledgeable. They each take time to teach you as well as provide exceptional customer service. Went there for an oil change that only cost me $38 bucks and had complimentary Lyft rides to and from the shop while it was being serviced, complimentary tire rotation, air in all my tires, and tire plugging.

They even helped me save money by telling me services I didn't need so I can truly say they are honest and trustworthy. Did I forget to mention you get a free oil change on your birthday and in February they partner with children organizations to help fund community outreach. Definitely one happy customer!

I always trust them with my car. I love how they have Child Advocate Month in February, where proceeds go to support Child Advocates and you get a free oil change for the next time. This was also the first time I got a major repair here, replaced front and rear breaks. They beat my dealer in price, warranty, and overall great experience that I always can rely on when I see them.

Whitney and Adam provided excellent customer service. They were patient with my questions and gave thorough answers to my inquiries. RMS also has coupons which helped lower the cost of the repairs. The mechanics identified current and potential problems that could have posed a threat to my safety and would have resulted in a big expense in the future. I've been taking my car to RMS for years and I'll continue to go there for maintenance and any concerns that become obvious in the mean time.

After driving my car for 12 years, the starter went out. I had my car towed to RMS that night. By the next day at 3 pm, the starter was replaced and my car was ready to go! I had an amazing experience at RMS Auto! Not only did they advocate with my insurance company to get more coverage, they also went above and beyond to locate new parts before a long-distance move. Sadie is absolutely wonderful to work with, and the work itself on the car was impeccable. I drive a recent model Volvo and am very picky about service. I recommend RMS to anyone looking for quality, professionalism and excellent customer care!

I've been to RMS auto for an oil change before and so when I needed some collision repair done, I contacted RMS and they were able to give me an estimate the same day I called. The person who helped me the most was Sade, she was so easy to work with and always answered all my questions quickly. Sade was able to help walk me through the insurance claim process and arranged for the geico adjuster to meet at the shop to get the quote expedited.

She was also helpful with getting me a free ride to get my rental car and they even set up the rental car return when I picked up my vehicle. I'm super happy with the service at RMS and their repairs come with a lifetime warranty. I'll will absolutely recommend this place to my friends and family, especially since Sade had the best customer service!

This is a very community-oriented business with the legacy, diligence and spirit of 40 years in our neighborhood. Whitney, others are inclusive listeners, kind patience and model the '"gold Standard" with their coupons for oil changes which includes a 30-point check on your car and no obligations or pressure to have the work done there. The owner is very accessible.

Sady was amazing! She helped with the insurance process the entire time and went above and beyond. Any issues that arose, she quickly got them handled. The mechanic work from RMS and the body shop work from Master Car Care and Collision was top notch. Would highly recommend and will continue bringing my vehicles here as I have done the past 6 years

Starter installed. Car would not start- I called RMS AUTO CARE & Chris checked the battery & alternator but determined problem to be the starter. Ordered starter on Friday & RMS called me Saturday to advise me that the part arrived. Appointment set for 7:00 AM Monday. RMS replaced starter, checked squeaking noise in steering column & checked brakes. Changed oil & finished work by 1:30 PM. EXCELLENT WORK! Polite, courteous & knowledgeable team provide timely updates to customers. RMS is well staffed with all team members committed to providing terrific customer service experiences. RMS realizes that people need their vehicles & I rely on them to keep my car running perfectly.

I promised I'd leave an honest review pending the outcome of getting my car back. RMS had my car for a month. It ended up needed an ENTIRE new engine. I have been screwed so many times by car places and decided to make the drive to RMS because my dad has been going there for like 20 years. I am so glad I came here- it was a long process but they promised they'd keep me safe once back on the road. Whitney was exceptional, was extremely knowledgeable and informative each time I called and drove them nuts wanting updates.

She never seemed irritated and I am very aware I was being annoying calling every day. Nick worked on my car (maybe other technicians too, but I met Nick specifically), super nice and explained each thing to us. They worked hard to make sure my warranty covered all the problems, and I know it was no easy task dealing with the warranty company. Very grateful for these folks, and my car hasn't blown up yet since I got it back.so I trust them. :o)

Came in to get my headlight fixed and they took care of me in a reasonable time even though they had to get a part from somewhere else. I just worked from a coffee shop across the street and walked back over when they were finished. Good service!

My whole experience with RMS was extremely positive. They were nice and welcoming when I came in, communicated clearly on what they would do and their timeline, and were able to fix my AC issue in about 24 hours, despite being clearly a very busy business. Nice touch offering a Lyft ride home after I dropped my car off. I will definitely go back to them if I have any future issues.

Honest mechanics! Took my car to the dealer for an oil change and they suggested $1000 + dollar work on the car. Got RMS to inspect it and they found majority of the maintenance work suggested not even needed. They fast, easy to work, with and they don't pressure you! 100% recommend this place and winnie she is the best!

Long story short, don't take your car anywhere else. I got a second opinion from them on what another shop told me was going on with my car and as it turns out, the expensive fix the first shop identified wasn't the issue at all. It is refreshing to run across a business that is honest and does good work. Customer for life.

RMS is amazing! My dealer said I needed new front breaks on my VW they were down to 2s although I had my rear brakes replaced a few months ago and they said I had a while. RMS checked them real quick, they weren't at 2s but at 4s and 5s. They sent me a quote for when it gets lower and needs to be replaced. Thank you for saving me money! Coming back here for everything from now on.

RMS Auto is wonderful! We brought in our Lexus SUV to get a fuse replaced and cracked passenger-side mirror fixed. Whitney was great. She got us in the same day, had a car take me home while they fixed the fuse, and quickly got me an estimate for the mirror repair order. You really get the sense that they truly care about their customers -- very different from the garages I'm used to. We'll be returning for all of our auto repair needs.

Extremely professional and very prompt with their works! My parked car was recently hit last Thursday 01/07/2021 (Damages to bumper, fender, and passenger side headlight) and I went to RMS for a quote, Sady was able to give me an accurate estimate on the same day. I returned the following day (Friday) 01/08/2021 with my car for repairs because the person who hit me wanted to pay out of pockets. Sady coordinated everything between the at fault party and myself and gave me updates very promptly.

I picked up my car today 01/12/2021 and it looked brand new! It took the shop approximately 3 working days before I got my car back, I highly recommend RMS for their timely works and professional manners.

This was my first time using this company, I have driven by numerous times, but like with most things, I am a creature of habit and stick with my usual repair facility. This time, however, I needed a tire repaired and my usual place doesn't do that. There is another place just around the corner on the 2100 block of Shepherd that I used to go to but since they ripped me off a few years ago, I have not stepped foot in there since.

The repair was done quickly with a patch as opposed to a plug and at a reasonable price and the service was great. I will definitely consider RMS for anything in the future, should the need arise.

These guys just did me a big favor. I drove from Minnesota to TX and on the trip hit a big piece of shredded truck tire. It took out my AC and trashed my bumper. First I found a place to fix my AC which they did, but not without warning me that my AC system was still very vulnerable without the underproduction in place that had gotten damaged by the tire.

Someone recommended RMS to me for body work so I went their. Initially the woman advising me was trying to save me $ related to insurance before I found out that the repair was going to take much longer than I had given that I live out of town. I asked if it was possible to just put on protection to keep the components in the engine compartment protected.

He said, "give a few minutes and we'll see." About 15 minutes later he drove my car up and said that they'd been able to use ties and the parts already there to hold the protection in place. And the kicker, NO CHARGE. Who said chivalry is dead? Thanks so much for the help! I would've been happy to pay, but I certainly appreciate your going the extra mile, especially for a customer who you've never seen before and may never see again, given that I now live 1200 miles away. This is the first auto care place I've been to since I moved to Houston almost a year ago and I would say I'm glad I went here. I found them through google and what attracted me to them was that 1. they are in a lot of websites' "Top 10 Auto Care" places in Houston, and 2. the location was perfect. I had issues w/ coolant and engine oil leakages (so, not-so-small repairs) and they took care of everything perfectly.

They were able to do same day diagnostic tests and sent me an email w/ a report of everything that they had found; the report even had pictures of what must be repaired/replaced w/ the problem areas highlighted. There was a hiccup w/ one of the required parts not making it through to the place, but they still got it done really fast. They would've gotten everything done w/in a day, if it wasn't for the delivery issue. Also, they constantly kept me up to date w/ how the repairs were going.

The customer service was awesome here. Now price-wise, I'm not sure if the amount they charged for the repairs was pretty standard or not, seeing that I'm not the most automobile-savvy individual. but I wasn't mad at the cost. I didn't bother getting a 2nd opinion from another garage, but my car-guru partner looked at the report and felt that it was a reasonable price. So, needless to say, I will be going back to this place whenever I need to get my car fixed.

Holy Moly, Talk about customer service! These guys were so genuinely friendly. As a women, when I normally go into a repair shop, I'm cast off to the side. These guys made sure I knew exactly what was going on with no hidden agendas. It's rough times and I teared up from how well they treated me. They know how to do business right.
