Was very pleased with the service I received at Real Tech auto and Truck repair. Had to have my car towed to them on Monday afternoon, got a call on Tuesday. They had to order the part said that it could be there that afternoon. They called me later on Tuesday and the car was done and I could pick it up. Great service and very nice people.

Doug, the owner, recommended that I spend more on repairs than what my truck was worth, over 11 thousand, while failing to mention to me that he never even inspected the engine or that they don't even do engine work on diesels. He gave me a list of parts that needed to be replaced which I thought were apart of the engine. Especially given the cost.

When I first get my truck back, 2 1/2 months later, it runs very poorly but I still drive it out of the parking lot hoping that it just needs to warm up. But less than 1/4 of a mile away it shuts down. I keep starting it and driving further until I realize that it dropped 8 quarts of oil. Doug then refills the oil and gives the truck back since he can't find the leak.

It still doesn't run very well but at least it gets me home. A couple days later I start it up and it shakes violently while sputtering out white exhaust. This is when Doug finally inspects the engine and he tells me that it needs to be replaced. I feel like it was deceitful of him to not tell me that he never inspected the engine the first time. I don't know anyone who would agree to have that much work done without a full inspection of a vehicle.

Other mechanics I talked to said they would have never recommended doing the work just given the high mileage, Doug recommended it without even looking at the engine. He said he couldn't get it started and that's why it wasn't inspected but I never had an issue with it starting, it would just shut off when I put it in gear. Which makes me think they either never tried or didn't care to try hard enough to get it started.

The only reason I dropped my truck off with them was because he said he could get to it in two days, but it took three weeks for him to even get me a quote. Early on he told me that my truck kept getting pushed to the side because other small jobs kept coming in. Later on he said they were having trouble with another diesel. They never reached out to me with updates either. I always had to call them to figure out what was going on or taking so long.

Travis and Doug were VERY HELPFUL & FRIENDLY. They tested the plugs & shifting. And fixed what was needed. Also they're the only shop that I've been to that will get you a ride to and from your home. And you don't have to worry about asking they ask you. Thank you for everything. Awesome to have service like that again in this world that we're living in now.

Travis and the team lined up a long block and did the engine R & R on our 1990 Ford. The supply chain problems affected the price and schedule, but they were very clear what was going on. They did great work and now we have a "new" truck. Highly recommend! Service: Engine repair

Took my truck in needed an alternator, starter, front cv axles and window regulator and a glow plug. I have a third party warranty that's supposed to cover those things. Ended up just getting starter and alternator done. They had my truck just about 2 weeks. Doing stuff I didn't ask to be done. They told me my truck needed ball joints I just had done in June.

And also I had multiple codes for glow plugs when there's only one bad. They way over charged me, they gave one price on the phone but when I showed up to get my truck gave me another price that was allot more than what I was told. Will never recommend. Should never cost over $1000 for a starter and alternator, couple hour job in the driveway and less than half the price they charged.

My truck went into limp mode on the way home to WA from CA. Despite having a full schedule, they got me in and were able diagnose the problem, order the parts, and get me back on road and home the next day. Really appreciate the way they took care of me. Services: Exhaust, Auto engine diagnostic, General repairs & maintenance

Only business around that I thought to handle my problem had an exhaust brake not working and not just any shop could handle that. Great job with great communications. Will continue to take my 07 Ram to this business. Service: Exhaust

Had an alignment done. Said I needed struts in front and a rr wheel bearing. Said they did what they could with it since I was going to replace the wheel bearings both and I would order and install the struts as I am doing now since I own the tools to do the job myself and save a lot of money. Problem is after I finish with the repairs they suggested I'm going to need another alignment.

And they charged me full price for the first alignment! In which they knew those parts needed to be replaced and the wheel alignment they had done was no good once those repair parts were replaced. By whoever replaced them. That's it!

Had a great experience. Came in with low hope for saving my truck. They diagnosed my truck pretty quick and presented a plan for fixing. Travis was patient with all my questions. Repair was done in a VERY timely manner and came in a little below estimate. We will be back! Thanks for the great service and help! Service: General repairs & maintenance

Took my truck here to get an aftermarket clutch installed along with fuel filter changes and valve adjustment. They did the work relatively quickly and I had my truck back after a few days. When I called for a quote I asked if they would still provide a warranty even though I am providing my own parts and they said they would. They quoted me and we agreed for them to do the work.

When I dropped it off they had me fill out a paper that was for my notes to the mechanic. I had requested a different fluid be put in my transmission that I provided. when I picked up the truck they dolt me that the fluid that was provided was the wrong one according to OEM and the put the correct fluid in there. The installation instructions for the clutch I provided recommended the exact fluid I provided but they must not have read that.

The next day when I got home I noticed oil spots on my driveway and found it was coming from the shift tree. they had put liquid gasket on and tightend it immediately not allowing it to set so it squeezed all the gasket maker out not creating a seal. They also told me that they couldn't replace the fuel filter because the cap was on too tight.

He said it shouldn't be an issue and I shouldn't have to replace the filter for a while even though my truck is telling me that I have 1,500 miles until I require a change. I asked if they changed the other filter the is in between the tank and the primary fuel filter and they had no idea what I was talking about. Yesterday I had replaced the fuel filters in my driveway with some harbor freight tools and only took me 20 min but they wanted to charge me for 4 hours of labor.

Real tech doesn't seem to know what they're doing and they don't really seem to be familiar with the vehicles they are working on. I do not recommend them and from now own ill be doing all the work myself. If you guys want quality work done at a reasonable price check with me first. ill just watch a youtube video and get the job done right the first time instead of these guys.

Also read on google reviews that one customer said that they wouldn't provide them with at quote over the phone and the owner of the company said that they won't provide a quote over the phone because they need to assess the problems. well thats not true because I got a quote over the phone which they changed on me like 4 times and they charged an extra two hours for a 15-20 min job.

Well, all things must end, so it was with the Kia. I since got a Ford Escape Hybrid and will entrust it's every maintenance to Real Tech. The first thing will be to replace the oil with Amsoil. They are honest, experienced and affordable. I don't have to worry about being taken advantage of.

I went to Real Tech Auto based on local radio ads that said what a kind and caring shop it was. I brought my dog thinking I would take a walk and have lunch while they did my brakes and fixed a blinker. First of all, there was no friendly greeting, no smile (if even a pretend one) for me or my dog, and no explanation that this was a brake inspection and not a simple brake job.

After walking for an hour or so, I checked in and then sat outside for 2 hours with my dog. I could see he was not welcome inside which is fine. Nobody came out to let me know the status of my car until they said they were finished. (The owner sat at his desk 10 feet from the door and could see the back of my head the entire time!) The bill was $120 for a brake INSPECTION and repair of a blinker (I provided the bulb!) I was shocked and literally embarrassed that I had not gotten my brakes fixed. Then, when they told me it would cost close to $900 for brakes on a 92 Toy PU, that was it!

I paid and left. I later chatted with my online car gurus and they agreed this was out of line and about $350 too high! Boo on them and their little Christian magazines too! I contacted the radio station also.

I own two aging vehicles, an 07 Toyota Corolla, and an 03 Nissan XTerra. I hate car payments and keep my vehicles as long as financially feasible. Doug is fair and honest. I trust his integrity when it comes to repairing my vehicles. An example today: my engine fan on the Corolla wasn't coming on, no AC and the engine temp was picking up if the vehicle was idling. I was prepared for a diagnosis that would cost me 500 to 800 dollars. Cost today? ZERO! Why? The fan was unplugged.he plugged it back in. that's integrity! Thank You!

This is an amazing place to get repairs done on your vehicles. I am very happy with the fine work Doug and his crew did on my car. They did some serious repairs and maintenance on my old Kia and made sure I was comfortable with the process. Very welcoming and warm place! Reliable and trustworthy. ASE-certified. Only shop I will use and strongly recommend. I found this shop to be located on Silverton near Safeway at Lancaster and Silverton (near the intersection of Hollywood and Silverton). Worth a look!

I can not say enough about how great these guys are! I own a local mobile dog grooming business and the electrical on my Ford E450 bus entry door went out on me. They got me in right when we discover the problem and stayed until close to make sure it was fixed and I got it back the same day. Doug and Jim went above and beyond to get my bus back to me so I didn't miss any time/days of work.

Myself and my business couldn't be more thankful for their wonderful customer service, friendliness, and timeliness in this. From start to finish, they were great! Thank you, thank you, thank you! It works better than it ever has!

No appointment, but Doug the owner fit me in. We were camped about 10 miles away and had never been here before. He looked things over, found my problem, walked me through the fix and did a great job completing it that day by staying late to finish. Knowing that this was our only vehicle and the job was about 5 hours, he took us back to the camper and picked us up when he finished the work. I could not have asked for a more competent and professional job. Well done Doug!

Oh how important it is with the maintenance of autos to work with someone you trust. Doug the owner of Real Tech Auto and Truck Repair is a shining example of someone who you can trust. It isn't a huge shop but you get big dealer service at very fair prices and they are super nice to deal with. 10/10 for this place.

Mary and Doug were very kind and although I was there simply to buy a new battery, they provided a wonderful service that earned them a repeat customer.

Totally ripped off my 74 years old father in law. Brought an older Ford pick up truck in for a tank cleaning. Had an estimate from Ford for approximately 100$ for a cleaning of that tank. Took them several hours to get the job done. Charge us around 100$ an hour for labor, that's just how great they are. Told us it needed a new fuel pump, which we didn't go in for. Didn't even bother calling us to tell us how much it would cost before doing anything, we had to go there. Came back with a bill over 800$.

Then the truck quit working on that tank, go figure? Said they would replace the fuel pump. Went back 2 days later, and then they change their mind and said it wasn't their problem, that we didn't bring in it for that particular problem. LOL. Typical rip off.

Doug and Jim do a great job! If you need any automotive work done this is THE place. I don't see myself ever going back to the dealership. They were up front on what it was going to take to get my rig back running in great shape, as well as what it takes to get and keep my truck maintained. They were straight up also. I thought I needed some break work, but it turns out the pads still had some life. Honesty in an auto shop?

Love it! Doug has a way about him, he cared for me, the customer, and the truck I asked him to work on, a friendly guy who is supper knowledgeable. There are auto techs and then there are mechanics, it's hard to find the latter anymore. I believe I have found two in Doug and Jim. Thanks guys! Oh and 'ol Burtha thanks you too!

We highly recommend this service. While traveling in Northeast Salem our small pickup truck suddenly heated up with the accompanying smell and steam. We stopped at an auto parts store and they helped us with a container and water but it seem to be leaking right out. So we asked if there was a repair service nearby and they recommended RealTech which was only a couple of blocks away. Doug was able to quickly diagnose our problem and give us information about what it would take to repair.

They dropped other projects since we were traveling and on a tight time schedule and ordered the needed parts and completed our repair. If we lived in Salem there is no question in my mind but that I would use the shop for all of my future maintenance and repair needs. There are highly skilled in diagnosis and repair. We recommend this service without reservation.
