We've owned Volvo's for decades but never found anyone in Texas who could fix them properly, until now. Richard accurately diagnosed our daughter's xc90 and gave us a thorough and fair estimate for the repairs. He had it completed on time, stuck to his estimate, and was a pleasure to work with. From now on, this is the only shop we will use.

Without a doubt, Rich Polk--the owner of the shop--is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met with regard to Volvos. Ever since I started taking my cars to Professional Volvo Service, I have never taken them back to the dealer.

I am so glad I found this shop. The dealer wanted about three times the price to perform the 30,000-mile service on my wife's Volvo. They did the work on time, and they exceeded my expectations. If you own a Volvo, I recommend this shop. This is the only brand of car they work on.

I first went to Rich in 2016 to have my Mom's car a 2005 Volvo xc70 get the 60,000 mile check up. It had 77,000 on it because the local Volvo dealer that she had used had gone out of business and she had not gotten any reminders and she was 84 and having some memory problems at the time. Rich did a full service of the car and did a replacement of the timing belt and brakes and a list of other needed maintenance at a fair price. Flash forward to 2021 and the car was inherited by me after my Mom passed away in 2018 and I had a steering fluid leak, the car has 95,000 miles on it and I had decided to keep the car, it is in very good shape.

He fixed the problems which were fairly serious and repaired and replaced a lot of if not all of the steering components as well as a few other things I added to the list. We did replaced the motor mounts as he had to lift the engine anyway. He does a great job and as a guy that only works on Volvos he knows the things that should be done if you want the car to run well and last a long time. I am very happy with his honesty and high quality work. I recommend him over the dealers in town.for sure!

Hey Volvo people- you found the right place! Rich and his team are the Volvo experts you have been looking for. Honest work, fair pricing, integrity and just nice people at PVS. Volvos just about run forever on their own, but Rich can make them run even better and even longer. He took care of my daily driver XC70 for years, services my daughter's Volvo for routine maintenance, and is the only person I let work on my 1965 P1800S.

PVS has been "caring" for our two XC-60's (2010, 2014) since the factory warranties expired.have since reluctantly sold the 2010, because I needed a truck for our business. With a couple of exceptions, our routine maintenance work is done within a couple of hours.enjoy conversing with Rich while our vehicle is being serviced. Rich has always been spot-on with his diagnosis of various issues we may have had.he has a wealth of Volvo knowledge! As long as we own our 2014 Volvo XC-60 (Factory Delivery), PVS will be our "go-to" Volvo service center!

Richard and his team at PVS are the absolute best! After receiving sub-par and overpriced service at area Volvo dealerships, we thankfully stumbled upon PVS and now will never take our beloved Volvo anywhere else! We have been clients for years, and Richard has treated us with the utmost respect and kindness on every single visit. He never tries to push unnecessary work, and his prices are fair even though his service far exceeds the dealerships. His shop is clear on the other side of town from us, and even though it is very inconvenient, we happily make the long drive for every service because Rich is simply the best. After having a pretty terrible experience at a different mechanic, I brought both my Volvos to Richard and would not bring my cars anywhere else moving forward. He walked me through his shop to let me see the work he was doing on my vehicle and then I got to take a look at the engine of his own personal Volvo and it is quite clear that not only does he love what he does but he puts the quality and craftsmanship into others cars as if they were his own. 10 out of 10 would reccomend.

My dad and I went to visit Richard when we needed my A/C fixed in our Volvo S60. The service was wonderful and you can tell that he has a true passion for the work he does on Volvos. PVS is one of the best local shops in town from custom service that Richard and Ed provides is unparalleled they treat you like family. My Volvo Has never run better and even feels brand new it's a 2012 with 130,000 miles on it I plan to run it to the ground with Ed and Richard help . but in all serious you can trust either one of these guys to step in and get the job done! Go see Ed or Richard and I promise you your Volvo will run as good as new.

I took my XC60 there for a 40k mike service and it was amazing! The price for that service was half of taking it to the dealership! They told me what else needed to be done to my vehicle as preventative maintenance like new brake pads in the rear. Also quoted him compared to the dealership and he is half the price. Whoever posted a horrible review about him is batty! Sounds like you just wanted a free service! Very personable service, reasonable prices and quick to get the job done! Makes me know I will continue to buy Volvos as long as this place is in business!

I had an oil change done there. Its cost is ridiculous, at least twice as much. His trick is to itemize everything he ever touched; even for a small washer, he charge you a few dollars plus labor and shop supplies. I don't think I can use his service for my Volvo any more.

PVS performed the maintenance my car needed and even drove my car to another place to get the inspection done in the same visit since they don't do it in-house. The service is honest and always correctly performed.

After Volvo of Houston closed, I started using Professional Volvo Service for my Volvo XC60 maintenance and service needs. Richard is a super nice guy, very honest, and knowledgeable. PVS offers great service at a fair and reasonable price. Great place to deal with, highly recommended.

I could not be more excited about the work I just had done here! I had taken my 2011 Volvo XC60 to two other repair shops, and neither one could figure out or fix the issue. But Richard figured it out and got it done the same day for a fair price. If you have a problem with your Volvo, you should absolutely take it here. Highest recommendation!

PVS has been taking care of my Volvos for several years. I travel across the Gulf Coast and it's tough to find competent service for a Volvo these days. I came upon Rich by recommendation and I've been pleased. He's got a good knowledge of the older, RWD Volvos and the newer ones with front/all wheel drive. This shop crosses generations.

A lot of other shops tend to lean toward one or the other. This is the kind of shop where you make an appointment, drop it off, and come back later. They'll arrange rental cars, if need be, but there are no loaner cars. Look, a Volvo isn't your standard car. Owning one is an involved ownership experience. They aren't a Toyota, for example.

You can't run them into the ground and do no maintenance on them and expect them to drive well. And, when they go down, they can go down hard. That makes having a good shop very important to me. Generally speaking, they only use quality parts for their repairs. It's a small operation, so be prepared for that. All in all, I'd recommend them to anyone with a Volvo. Prices are fair, especially when compared to a dealership. If, for any reason, something isn't right, they back up their work and make it right.

I drive from far away to use PVS if for no other reason than the lack of competent, independent mechanics to work on Volvos. If you're looking for that, look no further.

This is the best Volvo shop on the planet Earth. Is that concise enough. I read some review from some extremely wasted person who did not have the good graces to actually explain herself. Some extreme rant. I don't normally do reviews but she was so far off base that it just pissed me off. I have owned many Volvo cars and still do all these 22 years in Houston.

This is the ONLY place I have ever had anything done on the cars. My current Volvo is a 92 with 240,000 miles on it. It will probably only last another 200,000 miles or so. Maybe only 15 or so years left. The only reason I can make that cool comment is because of PVS. You can believe a customer of over 20 years or some airhead who doesn't understand the world does not revolve around her

This shop has bad customer service. They are closed mid-day and they will not bother to tell anyone this important information. Their excuse is since they have been open for a long time, then the customers should already know this. Well excuse me for being a First Time customer to not intuitively know this detail. Nowhere on this Yelp or posted on their business that the entire shop is closed mid day!

I gave them a second chance and the One guy there was chatting on the phone. Waited around several mins, still not one to assist me. I wasted over an hour going back and forth with this place and still getting No service. Stay clear of this place if customer service is important to you! say much about the repair service, but the customer service was definitely lacking.

I told them I would bring my car by the shop. When I got there the entire shop was closed! The hours were posted from 8-5 Mon-Fri. There was nothing about closing mid-day. I called later and the guy said we are closed from 11:30-12:30 and that has been their policy for 30 years. Well, excuse me for not knowing their 30 yr policy, since I am a First Time customer.

After this, I will probably their last customer! He could have mentioned this to me when I called to tell him would be bringing my car there. I decided to give them a second chance. Brought my car there at 1. He was on the phone. Waited for about 10 mins, he is still on the phone. It sounded like he was stretching the call out without any efforts to assist me. Well, since he seemed to not need customers, I decided to leave and never return!
