Had a wheel bearing go out on i84. Limped in to Precision and am glad I did. They were very nice and professional with a good looking shop. Had my truck finished and out the door in a couple days and the pricing I thought was good. If I lived in The Dalles I would go here regularly. Service: Steering & suspension repair

I brought my vehicle in for oil in cooling system & coolant in oil system. They did NOT property fix my car that resulted in engine replacement. They refuse to provide code report requests and honor their work warranty. They refuse to answer my emails; my cell phone has poor service where I live. They do not provide invoices that clearly identify all work done on vehicle. I had to give one star to be able to post; it is a NO STAR rating.

Great service, as always. Complete disclosure on work to be done and pricing. Very quick turnaround. My go-to place for automotive upkeep and repair. This time it was the 90K checkup on my 2007 Honda Accord.

I wanted to be a loyal customer after a good first experience, but every visit since has resulted in some kind of issue. From diagnostics being wrong and paying for parts and repairs I didn't need only to have my car that's never given me an issue break down in the middle of nowhere days after one of these repairs, to taking 4+ hours longer than estimated while I sat and tried to work from their tiny office. Now I am getting no response from them at all as I try to get receipts and records of everything done. I'm sorry to say I'll be going elsewhere in the future.

Henry rules and would highly recommend this team. honest, thorough and highly professional. wish I had come here a long time ago.avoid the local toyota dealership repair center at all costs and swiftly come here instead. period.

While on a business trip to Oregon my truck broke down. Being an auto service shop owner, I knew what I was looking for in a quality shop. First, the fact that they are a NAPA Autocare Center and AAA speaks volumes. I know what it takes for that to happen, and that speaks to the quality of the shop before I even spoke with anyone. Henry, the service writer was very understanding of my situation and got my vehicle in quickly just so parts could be ordered while getting back to his scheduled customers. Tim, the technician was extremely courteous and was a pleasure to see his dedication to his trade. Dave, the owner, was a very pleasant gentleman who seemed to be hands-off but was very aware of the goings-on in his shop.

The shop was pristine! And the customer service is second to none! And just so everyone doesn't think the job went perfectly. Nope! And no fault of theirs, they worked around the issues to my complete satisfaction! Spectacular facility and staff. Jon

We were traveling out of state to visit a friend. I broke down in the middle of nowhere with my two disabled teenagers on a Friday night. After issues with having my insurance tow the vehicle, it arrived Saturday evening at Precision Automotive. I called when they opened Monday morning and explained my situation. They told me they would take a look later that morning to diagnose the problem and let me know.

They got back to me by late morning, saying that it was the alternator and giving an estimate and saying it would be finished in the afternoon. Mid afternoon I received a phone call saying the car was ready to be picked up and they charged $25 less than the estimate (never have had a place do this!). This company is fast, courteous, true to their word, and honest.

I am still amazed at how quickly my car was taken care of and the fact that it was LESS than what they said. I really believe when that happens with other places, they must keep the money because that has NEVER happened to me before. I HIGHLY recommend this repair shop!

I use Precision Automotive for all of my car repair needs. Found green oily liquid in garage floor this am. Drove our Acadia to see the boys at Prescion auto this am. I took the leakage on a paper towel with me for them to analyze the problem. Henry called hour later to tell me the water pump went out. He gave me an verbal estimate of $600 and I asked him to proceed on the repair. Vehicle was repaired and picked up tonight. My 05 subaru suddenly began having issues. Transmission was the first that went. After having that rebuilt I thought I was done. But then a headlight went out, the tailgate stopped locking, the alarm quit working, one door wouldn't unlock or open. There seemed to be a grinding or constant rubbing sound and the brakes have never felt quite right. I was worried, what next!

A dear friend told me I could trust the guys here at Precision to take care of her and he was right. Besides taking care of the obvious electrical problems, they did a complete checkup on her, even gave her an oil change and checked and bled her brakes. All I can say is how truly grateful I am! I want to thank Danny, Stormy, Henry and anyone else that worked on my *su-b girl*. You guys worked your magic and she hasn't felt or sounded this good since the day I got her! God bless you!

I wish to recommend Precision Automotive in The Dalles, Oregon because of my recent experience there. Our auto had a difficult repair due to what I consider poor manufacturer's design and quality control of the OEM part replaced. It required them to spend much more time and effort than they expected. Nevertheless, they followed through with uncommon integrity, courtesy and perseverance. Such qualities are the basis for customer loyalty.

One of few places rurally that will service Volvo. They identified the issues and fixed them. The price seemed reasonable for AC overhaul, new belts and oil change. They noticed my retired military plates and gave me a discount without my thinking to ask for it. Communication was good but not proactive as I had to call them past the time they promised service to be completed. But overall I'm happy with their service and will most likely use them again.

I was referred to Precision Automotive under some unfortunate circumstances, but had a very pleasant experience nonetheless. My Jeep overheated on the way to Hermiston, spraying coolant all over my engine bay. I managed to get a tow through my insurance company to Precision Automotive in the Dalles. They were able to fit me in next day to have my Jeep looked at.

After running diagnostics they concluded that the water pump needed to be replaced as well as the head gasket. I was given a very good quote and went through with the recommended repairs. After picking up my rig I couldn't be happier. The service I received from the staff here at Precision Auto definitely made this bad situation easier to deal with. Thank you for everything!

I was a first time customer, I'm local and had a check engine light on my Chev Cruise so took it to this place. I first called and the person on the phone was very friendly and really seemed to want to help. I told them that I had a diagnostic check and gave them 3 codes over the phone. When I showed up about 10 minutes later they told me that my car was going in next, have a seat, they're going to look into the issue, then talk about pricing afterwards.

I was in the waiting area the whole time. They seemed really busy so I was patient and understanding. When the technician came into the front his diagnostic check was the same result I got and said that the gas cap was missing a partial seal, oil cap not twisted straight, and no explanation about the clutch sensor code. After knowing this the rep said they were going to try a new gas cap, twist the oil cap properly to see that fixes the issue.

At this point, two hours passed, no charging or pricing was mentioned so I assumed maybe there won't be a charge thinking they were just trying something? When everything was done, I noticed my car was in the same position(outside the shop's garage) entire time. I was charged nearly $100 for a gas cap, twisting oil cap straight and diagnostic check.

These things could have been done on my own and they didn't go over pricing with me before doing everything. I feel I was taken advantage of. I was happy to take my car here but with that end result it was not a good experience. -Chris

This is an awesome place, my battery died pretty badly and because of the after market things installed it couldnt muster up enough to turn over. Had it towed there and they used the super charger and got it running. The price for labour woulda been 55$ but due to some circumstances the guy said it was all good that hed take that one so he really saved me in a pinch. thank you again guys!

What's worse than driving on a lonesome highway in the middle of nowhere at 4 p.m. on Labor Day, the first day of your vacation, and having the Check Engine Light come on? And your phone doesn't work out there? That's the position we were in. The car is a 2008 Hyundai Accent with under 50,000 miles on it and an excellent maintenance record.

We carefully drove to our first destination, Dufur, OR. OK, spent the night and called Precision Auto in The Dalles the next morning. Now The Dalles is the exact opposite direction from where we were going on vacation. But we drove there (carefully) and arrived around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. James and Henry were able to scan our car and find out the problem was a fairly important sensor, so we decided to go ahead and have them fix it.

Unfortunately no one in The Dalles or Hood River had the part so they had to order it from Portland. It took over four hours to deliver it and they close at 5 p.m. (We had an unexpected day of walking and shopping around downtown The Dalles, which was not unpleasant.) But they got the job done in about a half-hour (it cost $350) and we were able to continue on our vacation, even though it was a longer drive to Sisters than we expected. Thank you James & Henry and the Staff at Precision for going the extra mile and saving the rest of our vacation.

Our VW EOS had an issue with A/C. When we took it to Herzog-Meier VW in Beaverton and after keeping it three weeks they said they would have to replace every component since they couldn't determine the issue. We took it to Precision and they found a bad component that was giving an error and replaced it. Although that didn't fix the complete problem this work had to be done to find the actual issue.

Once the first error was cleared, they found what was causing the problem, gave us a discounted price on parts and service due to having the first problem fixed. They did the work, guaranteed the job and it was all completed for less than 1/2 of what the dealer wanted. It also only took a few days compared to the dealers 3 weeks.

I had a problem with low boost on my Tiguan TSi. Precision got me scheduled right away. James diagnosed the problem with the turbo, got the part the next day, and I was back on the road with my car which is performing better than I remember. Thank you, Precision Automotive!

Excellent service! Very friendly and they got my 2013 Jetta back to me in tip top shape. Price was about half what the dealer would have charged for the timing belt, water pump service. I have always seen pretty unusual cars at this place being worked on at this shop (VW Things, old FJ's, military stuff, and just not ordinary vehicles) and they must be able to work on anything. I will be doing all of my vehicle work with Precision Automotive in the future. Thanks!

Great service. I was traveling through and needed some quick help. Precision Auto got me into the shop, checked out the problem, and got me on the road as quickly as possible. Crew was helpful and friendly.

Was a first time customer referred to Precision Automotive. Could not be more pleased with professionalism, price, and quality of work. If one word could sum up my experience it would be "trustworthy". Had an older car that we needed to get running so that we could sell the vehicle. There could have been numerous things done to the vehicle, but Precision limited the work to meet what we wanted to achieve, no more, no less. Did not take advantage of the situation, and was honest.

After leaving the shop we took the car a couple of blocks away to have it detailed. The owner of the detail shop noticed that the carburetor began acting up. Knowing we had the car worked on at Precision, he called Precision and Precision did additional work on the car at no charge so that we could drive away from the detail shop without a problem. They care about their customers, and want them to be satisfied, and go the extra distance to make sure that happens. Would recommend them without reservations!

A bit on the expensive side but solid quality work and worth it I think. They rebuilt my Subaru's engine, were very knowledgeable about it's issues and it's been great since. They have a very good reputation in the area which brought me there.

Our Cadillac broke down on our road trip to the Oregon Coast and they did everything they could to get it fixed (new fuel pump) and back on the road on the same day.
