Powertrain Auto Service

First of all it has been a month ago that my wife (I'm working). brought in my truck for diagnostics test and repairs were eventually needed. I spoke with and communicated with Ms Jennifer about my issues! She explained my question(s) and keep me informed of necessary parts/cost! Well, one month later no problems or any set back issues with my Honda Pilot SUV truck 2011!

I have been coming here for about 5 years. I brought my vehicle here last year to get the ac fixed. I paid well over 1500 and it still does not work. When I first came here my car was repaired with service you can trust. I don't know what's going on there now but it does not seem the same as if management and mechanics have changed. If I am going to pay too dollar I'd rather go to the dealership. Never again.

This place was a life saver! I originally had taken my car to the Hyundai dealership across the street when my car broken down and the engine light was on, and they weren't going to be able to even look at it for diagnostics for TWO WEEKS. However, I was luckily able to drive my car slowly right across the street to Powertrain and they were able to get to it within a few days.

It turned out I needed a new radiator, and they were so helpful and worked with me to get to it sooner than expected since I was scheduled to leave the country. Everything seems to have been repaired properly and is good to go - can't thank them enough for helping me out!

I receive less than stellar service with this provider. I do not believe they are thorough with their diagnoses. I purchases a contract through Car Max and was suppose to pay $100, I was told pricing changed to $110 although no pricing updates are listed on their website or shop, although contractually, all Car Max shop partners should charge $100.

The diagnosis on my car was grossly inaccurate. This shop had my car for almost two full days before I was told what was wrong with my car. I had to take it to an actual dealer who confirmed that the diagnostic reading from this shop was incorrect. I wouldn't trust them to tune a bike let alone touch my car again.

I called to inquire about their availability to look at the transmission in my Ford Escape because I have codes provided to me recently and the non customer service lady told me to take my paid off Ford to the dealer. She didn't ask me not one question of clarity or explain herself just assumed whatever spun up in her head and directed me to the dealer who technicians are probably as bad as the service she provided over a phone. No help at all!

Al and Jennifer have been taking care of our vehicles for over 15 years. Solid, consistent top notch service without the excess charges! I would give them 20 stars if possible. I heartily recommend Powertrain in Bowie, MD!

After many bad experiences with mechanics I was expecting the worse but just hoping i wasn't getting jipped. They exceeded my expectations. The administrative agent (Jennifer I believe), she was very kind, professional, & thorough! The communication was good and service was quick. Although I don't know much about cars, I do feel like the price are fair and I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth, along with feeling good in my car again! 10/10

I'm always nervous about taking my car someplace for repairs, but there was no reason to be with Powertrain. A few months back, I needed my radiator replaced, and they were the most economical by just a little. Plus, Jennifer was very helpful and friendly during the quote-getting process. I took my car in, and after they began to do the work, they realized that it was more involved than their pricing manual indicated, requiring more time as well as discharging and recharging the A/C system. Yet, they stuck to the original price! I waited to post this until after summer hit to see how my A/C would work in summer. Perfect. Radiator work is perfect, too. I highly recommend them!

Last week, I purchased tires on-line and shipped direct to a recommended installer, NOT Powertrain, for installation. During the tire installation process, that company advised me that I needed some work done to my car-to the tune of $850. I told them to pass on the work and CONSULTED Powertrain Auto Service, Bowie, MD. Al, the owner, explained to me something was amiss with that price and the part that needed repair.

I brought the car to them and Jennifer got me squared away on a busy Saturday. The technician checked what was supposed to be wrong with my car and did NOT find anything wrong. Basically, Powertrain helped me avoid being SCAMMED. THANK YOU! Powertrain has serviced my cars, since 2005. Al, the owner, is very personable, professional, and knowledge about cars. You cannot beat the high level of integrity and competitive pricing at Powertrain. I highly recommend them for your repair needs!

I encountered a really strange problem with my airconditioning in my 2010 Honda Civic. It wasn't cooling or would cool some and then stop after. The pipes would freeze too. I had only been going to Powertrain for just a couple of months and for small repairs so I was not really sure about using their services. Al, Jennifer and his team were so professional in delivering great customer service, very reasonable pricing, trustworthiness, and a commitment to getting the results needed at all costs. They also treat you like family and are very responsive to your needs. I highly recommend this stellar auto shop!

My experience with a PowerTrain was wonderful. I needed my electrical system repaired on my Chrysler Town n Country. The dealership quoted me $2200. Powertrain completed the job in 2 days at $900. I have not had any further trouble with my electrical system. The work was done right and the customer service was excellent too! I also referred another fd who has a Jaquar for service and he thanked me for the referral.

Awesome service, great customer service. While visiting in Bowie, our team car developed a problem. Besides the quality work, we were well received and felt like home.

Al and his team make the car service experience smooth and go about of their way to provide honest pricing, great service and competent work. Have been using them for about two years and couldnt be happier to use a local community shop rather than a national chain one.

I've been taking my car to Powertrain in Bowie for years for maintenance and minor repairs. Recently my car broke down and I had it towed to the dealership. I was told that the alternator had to be replaced and it would cost almost $2k to have the work completed. I immediately called Powertrain for another estimate. I'm glad I did, they were able to do the repair for less than half the cost (parts and labor included). And my car was ready within 48 hours!

I have been to many shops for maintenance and repair of my car, and I had to write to say how pleased i was with Powertrain. I took my car there after a LOUSY experience with a shop in Laurel - that I will NEVER go near again! (See my other reviews!) This shop, Powertrain, not only corrected the bungling of the Laurel shop, but pointed out additional problems that may cause headaches in the future!

They gave me an estimate to do the work, and even though it turned out to be more than either of us bargained for, they did not raise the estimate when the EXCELLENT work was finally completed. I consider my expectations a little higher than most and I don't recommend many businesses - ESPECIALLY AUTO REPAIR SHOPS (most are shysters!) - but I HIGHLY endorse Powertrain for anyone near the Bowie area who needs auto repair! Kudos to Mr. Walsh and his talented team of mechanics. I got great service at a very reasonable price in a timely manner - despite complications. What more can one ask?
