The capable technicians at Pat's checked over my car purchased at Shift.com and discovered a missing lug nut on each tire. They ordered replacements and were able to do the work first thing in the morning in 20 min! Long enough for me to wander over to the Minnesota Garden to enjoy my tea, and wander back. Perfect! I took my car to Lat's garage as I was having brake troubles. I had my brakes replaced by another mechanic last year. Every person I encountered at Pats was nice and helpful. Though I am having the brakes repaired at the original mechanic as it is under warranty. I will not go back to the other mechanic ever again after they fix my brakes they originally replaced. Pats garage will be my new mechanic. They made me feel like I could trust them and as a single woman trusting a mechanic to not rip you off is very important! Definitely recommend Pats garage!

This should have been a five star. Unsure why I only had four. They do a good job. Upsell for sure but what auto mechanic doesn't. Their work is solid and they are friendly and willing to explain stuff.

I am very happy with this garage. This is my second time bringing in my car for repairs and maintenance. They are professional, transparent with everything they do to my car. Furthermore, they are upfront and communicative about recommendations for the car from why it should be done and the costs. I really appreciate their detailed emails of their invoices/receipts/documentation of services; all communication is organized and clear.

I found my new Subaru mechanic shop. I really like my 2007 Legacy, but I'm not too familiar with all the intricate details of Subaru systems. Pats garage staff was professional, inviting and knowledgeable. Great on going communication regarding the progress of work being administered to my vehicle. I was given a detailed email invoice with pictures of replace parts. This is the shop for me. Great location and easily accessible from the 280 and 101 freeway.

The girl that picks up the phone is no help at all. I called for a simple question to see if they have the required tools to work on my car and she couldn't even ask one of her colleagues. I also ask to speak with someone else but she refuse. Bad customer service. She didn't even try to help at all.

Love this shop! Pat is a really nice guy and is very knowledgeable about automobiles. I brought my Tesla Model 3 into his shop for its first tire rotation. Pat inspected the tires and recommended not to rotate them due to the rear tires wearing faster than the front tires. San Francisco needs more small businesses like Pat's Garage!

Forrest and his dad pat really run this do it all auto garage the way you wish your last garage did. Forrest always gets my parts or services lined up when he says they will be done and his office team is the best. His mechanics have always performed a range of work from simple tires and allignment too full services for my subaru and nissan xterra. I wld recommend them too anyone looking for all types of automotive needs.!

Super nice guys. Both John and Forrest are very knowledgeable; especially when it came to old hybrids like mine. I had thought my car had completely died when it turned out that it was simply because I never replaced the "other" battery since it came from the factory.

I just bought this used truck and it died as In pulled into work on Thursday. I called Pat and asked him if I could bring it by after work and have it looked at. He made it so easy for me. They have an introductory special. They checked out my truck thoroughly, took care of anything that needed to be done and replaced the battery with a better one than I would have been able to find.

I picked up the truck after work on Friday with an assurance that my truck would not be failing me anytime soon. Also they gave me a summary report letting me know what I may need to do in the future (not much really). Pat made it easy and entirely stress free. It cost exactly what he quoted with no added charges or suggested repairs. My truck had a 'Spa Day' and I found the best and most reliable place in the City to take her when she needs attention. John has patiently explained the tradeoffs of different choices (explaining it very well for people like me that don't know anything about cars), and he's always given me a fair and honest assessment of what I needed, even if it meant not needing to replace something right now, etc.

My poor little 2008 Honda CR-V hadn't gotten a check up in entirely too long and needed a lot of repairs--they took care of it beautifully. On another occasion, John was even able to squeeze me in with only a few days notice before a big road trip. (and best of all, my car survived a road trip to Joshua Tree and back with no issues!) My roommate also exclusively trusts her car to Pat's; we're both loyal customers!

Unintimidating. No nonsense. There's also an office dog. Keep coming back any time I need a service. They also made a great recommendation to a local body shop when the work I needed done was out of scope for them.

Stopped off at Pat's for a battery change and was thrilled with the quality service. The team was stellar! John and Forrest helped me get checked in and all squared away in no time. With just a quick visit, I can tell that this company is committed to serving the community. I don't leave reviews for businesses, whether I've had a good experience or bad, so take this as a fervent recommendation. Pat's Garage is the only place I would ever take my car in San Francisco. The mechanics are exceptionally friendly and provide simple explanations of what work they're going to do, why, and what they would recommend for the future.

I trust them. My car always comes back working perfectly and they fix issues that I'd just resigned myself to living with. They are also clear about their political commitments in a way that I find refreshing and encouraging.

They were very professional and showed they really cared by giving me a great referral for Catalytic Converter replacement. (I know because I've shopped around for hours.)

I went to the Honda dealer in San Francisco and was given a list of 4 items that needed to be fixed with a total quote of over $2,000. One of which was the brakes, and when I told them I didn't want to perform the service, they cautioned me that my brakes "could drop out" if it wasn't replaced and that it should be addressed immediately.

At Pat's garage, they reviewed the quote provided by the dealer, advised that my brakes were NOT in any way a danger, and completed all of the necessary work -- only ONE of the items from the original quote -- for about 1/4 the dealer quoted price. Very honest, fair, and transparent. Will happily bring my car back to them anytime.

I've been twice now for my "annual checkup", and am really happy with my experiences at Pat's. It's a really professional-yet-comfortable atmosphere, and I've never once felt like anybody was trying to upsell me on anything. The fact of the other customers on my visits being entirely women and/or families also bolstered my confidence in their ethics and honesty. Seriously, such a good price for the service.

Excellent service and professional staff. They can call or text updates on your vehicle so you aren't sitting around waiting all day in the dark. Also, great deal on simple packages of tire rotation, brakes, and oil changes. They are a small business in SF, family owned and it makes you feel good about spending money here. Side bonus: there is a brewery next door open 7 days a week!
