Smogged my car here - very easy to get a timely appointment and the tech was very friendly, which is nice.

Had my smog done. Very fast. Nice young man. Definitely recommend

Professional and high-quality service. They were able to accommodate me dropping in with a broken side mirror. They talked me through the process, what went into determining the final price, and gave me recommendations for items to consider addressing in the future. Communication was clear. And as a bonus provided a discount since I am a member of Saint Mary's College! Highly recommend.

I am so pleased with their excellent services. Although the Gas station and mechanic shop are tow different businesses with two different management. But I always get the best service from the employee of the gas services. Thank you for being a great help.

-0 Stars of possible for this auto repair. My relatives came from out of town for a visit. Their van broke down by the Moraga Country Club. One of the workers from Moraga Auto Care offered to move the van to their repair shop to take a look. The owner gave my relative an estimate of $2,040 because he said that the cooling fan needed to be replaced in order to be able to check any damage to the engine.

Feeling that the price was way too much, my relative decided to pay the "diagnostic fee" about $160 and had the vehicle towed to a different auto repair shop for a second evaluation. The second vehicle evaluation revealed that there was nothing wrong with the cooling fan, nor the engine. There was a switch that needed to be replace to make the cooling fan run properly as the sensor was not working, the cost to repair it including parts and labor was $300.

The owner of Moraga Auto Care was rude and visibly bothered that the vehicle was not being repaired at his shop. When my relative who is undergoing treatment for cancer asked the owner if she could to use the restroom, he rudely told her that his business didn't have a restroom. He was lying because I have been there before and know there is a customer restroom.

The owner of this business quoted $2,040 for a repair that was not needed, that is absolutely outrageous. The diagnosis from Moraga Auto Care was completely wrong. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION WHEN DEALING WITH MORAGA AUTO CARE, you can save hundreds even thousands of dollars. Terrible way to treat customers. Plenty of auto shops in town, this one is by far the worst for us!

New management and mechanic here since those bad reviews were written. The new operators are conscientious, trustworthy and thorough. I see no reason to go anywhere else!

I received an oil change on September 25th. My rod was thrown on December 23rd. I had just gotten an oil change here. Two days later, hearf a noise took it back, the idiot says "its just the oil settling."Went back, the mechanic and manager both denied wrongdoing with a submitted "actual" mechanics report. My car is a 2015 Kia Soul and not enough oil was put in it. I am suing for a new motor. Do not go here they will ruin your car! They do not know what they are doing.

Would never go back to this gasoline station again. The gas station attendant got upset becauss I did not have cash to pay for my drinks and said that I/others were targeting him because he wasn't getting anyone with cash purchases only cards. I felt a little uneasy because he seemed agitated that I did not have cash and he started to blame me and everyone else in the town for not paying with cash on his shift.

Please do not go inside between 12:00-5:00 as this seems to be the time that this particular gentleman works. Hope this review helps. Auto service may be great but the gasoline attendant made me feel uneasy.

All I have to say is i saw smoke, crackle, and pop. This was not my cereal, it was my car. I took it Moraga Auto Care and ask for car forgiveness. With knowledge of epic proportion I was honored and ate very well feelings. What a disappointment! I'm a little old lady and went to this place looking for help in a scary situation. On the way to a concert in Moraga Thursday afternoon, my car suddenly died and all the dashboard lights came on. I got it started and limped into this place looking for help. The man inside was very nice and ran to get the mechanic. He, however, seemed very annoyed and said he was busy and couldn't even look at it until Monday. He said I should have it towed and to get it out of his driveway. And walked off. I hope someone is much kinder to his mother when she needs help.

John helped me with a used car inspection. Gave me a ton of confidence in what I was potentially buying. On top of all that, he talked me into a more economical inspection price point - really appreciated the honest approach.

Absolutely disgusting. Their bathroom was repulsive, even as a guy standing to pee, I feel horrible for the women who have to go in there! Nasty mop bucket water just collecting diseases probably. Not to mention someone carved out some of the film on the door so some pervert can peep through! Nasty.

Score another 5 star for MAC. Being new to the area we didn't know who did good work and (let's face it) was trustworthy. After seeing the great reviews it was decided to have them do a tuneup. Chris did an excellent, quick job. He also checked different items at no cost and didn't try to up sell any unneeded work. We are very impressed and will definitely use them again.

Dan gave me excellent advice and service. I'm from out of town, and luckily just pulled into this repair shop for some maintenance that I had neglected to take care of before leaving home. I was very pleased. My only recommendation is that they update their computer. It took a while to get my bill on the very slow one they are using.

Extremely happy with the service and price of this shop. I only had an inspection done here but Chris is really amazing in explaining everything he discovered with the vehicle, definitely gave me confidence in buying this used car. I am not from Moraga, otherwise i would let him service the car as well. Maybe next time : Thank you Moraga Auto Care!

I am very happy with the service I got at Moraga Auto Care & Service. I thought my waterpump went out on my car but was not sure. Brett ran several tests and found out it was my sensor and thermostat that went bad. He made sure to thoroughly check my car and even asked to keep it an extra day to make sure that the problem was gone. He kept me informed as to what was going on and made sure to explain everything. I would recommend this shop to all of my family and friends:

Brett and his team are scrupulously honest. They take care of everything, explain what needs to be done and why and give you an idea about what is urgent and what might be done later. They are truly an old fashioned mechanics shop with mechanics who care about their work, their customers and your car. You can't get better service. They have kept my aging 4 cars in tiptop shape.

There are some repairs that the dealer can take care of, but for oil changes, engine checks, and other simple to mid-grade repairs, I am glad to give John, JJ, Brett and the rest of the crew here my business. When it comes to engine work, they are cool about applying the diagnostic price (most cases $120) toward any repairs the car needs. Routine maintenance is becoming more important as my car gets up there in miles, and they tell you what your car needs now and what it will need soon.

And once you are on their mailing list, you get service reminders and even a holiday card from the owner himself. So this has become my go-to place when in the area, and they also have an independent smog guy in the back who does occasional deals as well.

Super honest people! You can tell they're looking out for you, and I didn't even get the chance to have my vehicle serviced yet! I was calling different auto-shops in my area (Moraga) and these guys were the first to actually answer the phone. Not only that, before I called, I was looking on their website and read the Bios, etc. It mentioned John, the owner, and how he was passionate about cars, customer service, and family. Seemed like a nice local business.

So I called, figured I'd reach the receptionist.but guess who answered? John himself! Whoa, I thought, awesome, I love to support my local businesses, and even more when the owner is still devoting his time into it! But even still, when I arrived at the shop, John was explaining what he talked with me over the phone to one of the other employees (sorry I forgot your name!), but this guy, he was just as awesome! Seriously, we went back to the office, and I mentioned how my car was still under warranty (its less than 3 years old!), but the dealership was trying to charge me over $1,000.

So he told me exactly what I needed to do and say, and go back to the dealership, and give them no excuses to fix my car under warranty. He said if I were him, this is what he would do. Seriously, you can't get better trust and information than this.not to mention in the automotive industry where every car salesman and mechanic is looking to make $$$ off unsuspecting customers.

I can't wait til I don't have to deal with the MINI dealership anymore (when my warranty expires).granted, hopefully I don't have too many mechanical problems, but if I do, I know where to go. These guys know what they're doing - they're honest, upfront, and truly help their customers. Thank you guys! I'll be recommending you to my fiancee and friends =)

John rechecked a battery I let run down that I bought from him over a year ago. He then charged it for 4 hours and rechecked it -- NO CHARGE He want to do good for his customers. He has always been honest, fair in prices, efficient and very competent.

I have used Moraga Auto Care for several years for several cars. I value their honesty and helpfulness. They go out of their way to get the job done in a way most helpful to the customer.

John performed a used car purchase inspection for me on a same day call in. He provided constructive input and insights as to possible issues with the vehicle. It wasn't clear to me how in depth he examined the engine and internal vehicle components. His assessments of potential issues with the vehicle based on his inspection were very useful. He is very knowledgeable and communicates well.

These guys are great! They took great care of my car and even showed me what they did when I went to pick up my car. I thought it was great, because I don't know anything about cars. They took the time to show me on another vehicle what they worked on, explained how it worked, and why it was a problem. They also offered to take a look at another issue for free. These guys are class acts and very reliable and dependable. I will definitely be taking my car back there!
