After failing inspection, called Lindsey at McCracken who worked me into their schedule in no-time. They were able to find me the best, least expensive options for repair, completed them within the day AND took care of the re-inspection process, wow! I needed repair on my exhaust system. They recommended a custom exhaust place in Dorchester that had the equipment to do a small custom job instead of the big replacement that McCracken would do. I went there and it worked out great. This is why I have been a regular customer here at McCracken's for many years. They put the customer first.

I have a similar "bad story" about Mccrackens Automotive In West Roxbury. After reading what they did to the guy in the Van it brought back some bad memories because they lied to me as well. It's one thing to not take responsibility for a bad mechanic you have on the job, but to turn it around and say it's someone else's fault when their mechanic didn't know what the hell he was doing.

I almost died when I read the other review about them diagnosing his car wrong "three times". Well they diagnosed my pickup truck wrong exactly "three times". He must have had the same mechanic.

I brought my 2003 Ford van in for a simple one hour helicoil to be put in. They started working on it on a Monday and I thought it would be ready the same day, it wasn't. I went there the next day at 3PM after work and it was still in the garage. He told me I should probably come back the next day (Wednesday) because he doubted the mechanic would stay past 5:30 to finish it.

I said what are you talking about the job is simple, you quoted me a price of around a hundred dollars and he's been working on it all day? And tomorrow? That would be three days in the garage for a helicoil. I said I'll stay I need my van. Around 6PM he came out and said "you have significant engine damage, it sounds like chunks of metal in there".

I couldn't believe it, I said you drove it into the shop just fine and you start it to bring it out and the engines junk? He couldn't answer me. I have all the messages that I will be posting soon enough showing how they lied to me and got caught doing it. I need this van for work and Jason knows that. I've been losing money because of this place since it happened and he played games with me for the past two months saying he would fix it.

He's obviously taking advantage of the courts backlog but it's in the Attorney Generals office hands now. If anyone wants to contact me directly about this I will share what I can for now.

I've been with McCracken for decades. They consistently provide me with quality service at reasonable prices and in quick turnaround time. Plus the people who work there are just really nice. They always understand when I say, "I'm kind of broke." :- And do the best that they can with that consideration in mind.

Mccracken of West Roxbury serviced my Prius suspension and several other jobs in August and I wish to tell others how happy I am with the work. My car is almost twelve years old and after McCracken's expert team completed repairs on my suspension as well as fixing the electronic trunk release my car now drives as if new and rides smoothly and is mechanically sound. My car is 1992 Miata and it burst its head gasket and radiator. Many things had to be fixed and parts hard to find.they did a great job --always professional and experienced and reliable. Just visited for the first time today and not only did they quickly fix my minor issues for almost nothing, the owner Wayne took 20 minutes with me at 5 o'clock on a Friday afternoon to figure out a small problem with accessing my spare tire in the hatch. This guy is solid.

I was in town visiting my family. Our car battery died. I googled local mechanics and got McCracken. I called to confirm they had time to check out the car. After describing the issue, getting good insight from Wayne (that batteries supplied by AAA suck) & the ok to bring it in, I went. They were busy that day, but they managed to fit me in. Wayne did the work himself because they were short on mechanics that day. It could not have gone any better. I've already recommended them to my friend.

A neighbor recommended McCracken several years ago, and I have used them ever since. The staff is always friendly, and explain the different options for the work being done. I especially like McCracken Express for quick oil changes, stickers etc.

Wow has this place changed since Connor left. I get brushed off the phone while trying to explain what I suspect is wrong w my car. Very rude to say the least. I'm no expert but I do know my cars. I just wanted an idea of wait time and price for a specific job. Wasn't looking to get a diagnosis over the phone. Just a guesstimate for a alternator install.

I even asked if they wanted to call me back after checking the price for the alternator to give them time. Customer service was my biggest compliment when I recommended McCracken but not sure what's going on ever there now. Hopefully they have the same mechanic, at least he was good.

EXCELLENT SERVICE! Issue: Windshield wiper fluid pump/motor Service: Excellent! I called around noon time on a Friday and Wayne was able to squeeze me into the schedule. He looked into my engine, diagnosed the problem, made several calls to order the part on the same day and send his only coworker to pick up the part! Wow! Price: Very fair. Location: Very friendly environment. Easy to get to. I will definitely come back and even recommend my coworkers and friends to this location!

I had my 2012 Corvette Grand Sport's oil changed by another shop and the dipstick showed the oil above the maximum line. I got off the phone with Wayne and he immediately freed up time to take a look. Good thing it wasn't a concern but I truly appreciate his professionalism and attention to customer service. Will come back for future needs!

The work is good, but very overpriced. I was overpriced here several times in servicing my car by several hundred dollars. There's many other mechanics nearby willing to do the same work for a fair price.

We all want to find a reliable, honest repair shop. It can be tough at times because you never really know what needs to be done on your vehicle if you're not mechanically savvy. These guys find what actually needs to be fixed and leave alone what doesn't. Especially when it comes to an older vehicle such as mine, just about everything could be replaced, yet they're honest and fix what needs to be done to keep your vehicle chugging along. Top notch quality and service here.

This is a great repair shop. I started bringing our vehicles out of connivence (walking distance) and couldn't be happier. The work is first rate, competitively priced and they do not advocate unneeded work. Since our cars are still under warranty, so I bring them to the dealership on occasion to maintain that relationship but am always disappointed with the "recommended" work that the dealership seems to find.

I typically say no and bring the dealer's wish list to McCracken. One example is a $200 heat shield replacement that was downgraded to installing either a clamp or a bolt to secure the existing part. I feel as if I have a partnership with the McCracken team as opposed to being a datapoint in the customer list. They know me and my vehicles.

I've been going to these guys since I got my license. The quality and customer service here is above and beyond. They are honest and diligent which is very important when it comes to being a great mechanic.

We have been using McCracken West almost since they opened. We had a minivan that the dealer kept telling me needed tons of work to be "safe".taking advantage of the fact that I had small children and would be worried and have the work done. The McCracken guys are honest and never steer me wrong. They recommend what is truly necessary. If they are not sure, they do the research. I think it's rare to find a mechanic you trust, but this is one of them

Expensive. Be careful of the push to sell you other things. Make sure you really need a new part, etc. before you consent to it.

I've been bringing my car to McCracken's in Westwood for several years now, and I have to say, I have a hard timing imagining I'll ever take it anywhere else. They do excellent work at reasonable prices, and they don't take advantage of you like other places may. Case in point: maybe a year ago, I brought my now 11 year old car in for a check up (or "tune up, " as most people call it, but I digress).

I was waiting for the call that I would need to drop serious bucks, but it never came. Instead, they told me that my car was in good shape, but needed an oil change. That'll be $28 bucks, please. At my most recent oil change, they told me I may or may not pass my upcoming inspection because of an exhaust issue I was having. Needless to say, I failed, but when I called McCracken, they were able to take my car that day, fix it up, and have it back to me the following evening.

Even though I now live a solid 40 minutes away, I STILL make the trek to get my car serviced at McCracken's, which I think is the best praise I can give with so many other places I could go, that are closer to me. Bottom line: the people at McCracken are knowledgeable, honest, and offer services at reasonable prices, all while not being out to completely screw you--what more could you ask for?
