In October of 1991, I opened Leif's Auto Collision Center with one employee. I chose to use my first name because I was proud of my auto body skills and philosophy of maintaining the highest standards for quality, integrity and service in the industry. In 2011, we serviced over 48,000 customers with a satisfaction rate over 99%. We achieve this unprecedented rating because all our employees maintain our philosophy of standing up for the consumer against the insurance industry's relentless drive for higher profits through cutting corners and denying claim benefits.

Quick and very pleasant experience. I hit a deer with my rig and was able to get it in the same day. The adjuster was able to see it the next day and I was notified immediately that it was considered totaled. That same week I was able to get in and do a final clean out of my contents. From Brian checking me in and explaining clearly what I could expect, to Denise driving me around in the golf cart and providing a bag for my things. It was great. I'll be sure to refer friends.

Much of what I'll be writing in regards to my experience is a common repeating theme with Leif's Auto Collision Center, on this and on other review sites. I wished I read those reviews prior to taking our car to this place. I'm hoping by sharing my experience less people will have to go through similar nightmare. This is a very condensed version. 3rd time in a span of 18 years that I took our car to Leif's.

The experience and repair result were excellent the first time, then good on the second time and now it just plain horrid. Our car was at their shop for 7 weeks for a no-fault minor accident (backed into while parked) and it ended up looking worse than before the repair. The color on the front bumper is way off (because no tinting was done), separation line between unpainted and painted part is uneven and jagged in some areas, there are also visible overspray on non-painted parts.

Communication was lacking unlike what's stated on their commercial and when it happened, they are mostly vague and accompanied with rudeness. They ignored my repeated requests for tint and keep on pushing what they want to do (blend) instead. (Tint is adjusting the paint mixture to get to a closer match with the existing paint while blending is overlapping new paint onto adjacent panels so the gradual color change will to trick the eyes from seeing the difference between the new and existing paint).

My guess blend is a more cost effective and requires less effort. Ben Trujillo spent a lot of time trying to convince me that blend is the only way to go. At one time he sent pages taken from a couple of documents that supposedly would provide solid reasoning to do blend but one of article actually states that blend should not be a consideration for the white paint (which is the color of our car) while the other one states that tint is also needed for better blend result.

When I pointed this out, he told me that I read the wrong section, but there is no other section on the pages that he sent me. He never sends the correct section or talked about it anymore afterward though. Leif's constantly projecting themselves onto Insurance companies. They incessantly claim that insurance is trying to cheap out and blame insurance for their shoddy work.

They also show a weird obsession of wanting to punish insurance by making them to pay for re-repair. This is displayed on their commercial as well as what their employees say. They will manipulate you to fight with the insurance (which I fell for and did for over a month). When I rejected the repair on my car the first time Ben told me that the repair is the way it is because that is what was paid by the insurance.

I was not aware that they have different levels for pre-loss repair. From my experience they don't do any of the fighting or stand up to insurance company, I did all of the fighting being constantly misled by them. They require debit card or cash payment from you, credit card is accepted with 2% charge and won't take check from insurance company. Which means you will have to get the insurance to pay you and you to pay them.

Nothing in their ads is really what they stand for. Holding the insurance accountable, fixing your car right the first time, fighting for you and pre-loss repair are just empty buzz words to lure you in.

My car was done here a year ago, very unpleased with how slow they are. They were so rude on the phone and barely picked up phone calls, never kept me updated about my car I had to keep calling like 3-4 times a week it was ridiculous. If you're planning on going through insurance with Leif's, don't do it. It took them 5 months to fix my car and they kept blaming the insurance for not proceeding to fix my car.

I even had to pay almost 1k to get my car, they just weren't giving it back even though it was fixed and ready to go, they kept waiting for insurance to give them the "approval" and I called the insurance and they said that I was able to pick up the car, but Leif's wasn't allowing it. Very disappointed with how they do their jobs. The work that was done on my car was not very good either I had a professional mechanic over look what was fixed and he said it was done poorly and even showed me why. Anyways if you're thinking Leif's then 0/10 recommend.

This whole business is run like an extractive scam. They get you to sign a contract to repair before any estimate or promise of work is given. Then they claimed to insurance that damage to the car I told them was not accident related was. I met Leif personally and told him I did NOT want certain work done. They ignored what I said and did the work anyway.

Then they knowingly installed a broken part after getting you to sign another waiver. The rep even said we told you the part would be broken before they got it. How is that even possible unless they broke it themselves on purpose?! Then they were going to charge storage fees while I argued the bill like a hostage taker. RUN!

I would give 0 stars if possible. Got car repaired here after getting rear ended years back. Car was there for 3 months. During the repair, I did not receive updates, didn't get return calls, and they couldn't tell me what the status was. I began to wonder if they even still had my car in their possession. When I finally got my car back, it leaked where they had "repaired" it, which it had not done previously.

The customer service is terrible. I highly recommend Artistic Auto Body. We have been to both body shops and would never use Leifs again. Artistic Auto Body has been a much better experience and the work and service is hands down much better quality.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I handed my car and key over on July 31st after an accident. They told me repairs would be done on Sept. 22nd. A couple days after the 22nd, they emailed me to inform me that multiple parts were on backorder and that there was now no ETA. From then on, I had to email them 90% of the time to ask for updates on what parts they were waiting on, new ETA, etc.

There was pretty much zero communication from Leifs for the next 4 ish months. I did not get my car back until Jan. 18th, after multiple calls and emails trying to get answers and not receiving anything. They said that they would detail my car before it was returned to me. This wasn't the biggest deal for me, but that was a lie. They were scuff marks on the interior of the doors, there was random debris that was not from me in the trunk of my car.

A couple days after I got my car back, I discovered that my horn didn't work. I called Leifs, and they told me that it was the dealerships fault, as they had to send my car to a dealership to do the wiring install. They would not tell me which dealership they sent it to, so even if it was the dealership's responsibility, I had no way of resolving this.

I took my car to my local dealership. They informed me that my car did not have any horn, bracket, or bolt. It was completely removed. I don't care if the dealership did it. In my eyes, Leifs was in charge of the repair and should have noticed that there was no horn in my car, or should have been helpful in resolving the issue and contacted the dealership.

I called again and demanded that they resolve this. They agreed to order and install the parts, but still did not accept responsibility. Overall, this was the worst experience in my life, in every way. It was not worth the hassle, the stress, the money. If I could have picked my car up and towed it to another repair shop, I would have. I was without my car for six months, when repairs should have taken 2 months. There was no communication, there were a million excuses about what was taking so long, and Leifs refused to take responsibility for any of it. A poor excuse for a business.

Absolutely horrible experience with our van at Leif's. Well over 3 months after we brought our vehicle to Leif's to get it back in pre-loss condition from an accident - here we are towing it out of there, job left unfinished. The worst customer service I've ever experienced, especially Leif himself. Absolutely no mannerism to his own customers, terrible language. We strongly regret not reading the reviews before choosing them from their radio advertisements. It's all a lie. READ THE REVIEWS! So many similar experiences.

I took my car to get it fixed at leif's and it took them 6 months. The staff was rude disrespectful and aggressive towards me. The never returned any of my calls. I had a meeting with the owner and he never showed up or returned my calls. The wanted me to hire a independent inspector and I told that I didn't want to pay for that and lea who works there said that they would pay for it I just had to say it was on my behalf, so pretty much she wanted me to lie and commit fraud.

They wanted to extortion my insurance company for more money even tho the insurance company was cooperating with them. I talked to my insurance company and they even said that they blocked all their calls they only thing they could is send a fax and email. When I finally got my car back there is water inside my headlight and the bumper has a huge gap I could literally put my hand inside the bumper.

Its been 4 weeks now and no one is answering my calls or is trying to fix it. I spend over $4000 for terrible job that took 6 months. I would strongly advise everyone not to go to leif's auto collision center. They are a scam!

I am a shop owner but work on classic cars i hate new cars and insurance companies. I had to fight with my insurance company to pay for the damages. What people dont understand is that the insurance company will try to bully you well they tried it and they lost what the insurnce company didnt know is I am a shop owner and am a oregon state auto appraiser so it helped in my court when it came time to play my cards but for people who dont understand the game it is easy to point the the bad at leifs I have had 5 cars fixed here and i send all my customers there. understand your insurance company make money off of you and if they have to pay top dollar they lose.

I deal with people who under insure their cars daliy and have then say right to the customer face I dont pay for qualty of the work they do. so For people that are looking for a shop that will do it right leifs is the shop.

I had my car taken to Leifs for a second opinion after Caliber Collision told me that my car was repairable and I knew in my gut that it was totaled. Leifs went and picked up my car from Caliber and had the car totaled out within a few days. It just goes to show that it's worth getting a second opinion on your car if you feel that someone else is lying to you just to make a buck despite being ethical. Thanks again Ben & Danielle
