This is no ordinary resto garage. I have seen them pull off some amazing feats with their projects. These guys are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for and they are simply the best around. They have frame up rotisserie restored two cars for me. Every project is not without issues. When I have had any someone answered the phone on the first try and the problem was handled and addressed quickly and thoroughly.

Highly recommend Klassic Rides. The team is professional and work is excellent. I think some people don't understand owning a classic can be challenging and think it should be like a new car today, but these guys get it. We have a 54 year old car and are purist's to a large extent, so we do like the originality. Billy, Rob and the team here work hard to make it right. They do a great job and stand behind their work. Easy to work with and top quality. This is the ONLY place we take our 67 Ford.

Would not recommend. My father tried to resto-mod a Mustang through them. Very poor quality work and overpriced him significantly. He got quoted a price and then they would increase the price later. They took forever to respond to his emails and would not honor any of the agreements they made to him. He took his car elsewhere due to the way they treated him and the poor quality they provided.

They do beautiful work! You get the fine craftsmanship that you pay for here. Staff are professional and friendly! Pricing per project is done fairly! Parts cost and labor cost. Sure, you may can find a cheaper shop, but remember that you get what you pay for! I fully recommend this shop! They did a beautiful job customizing my VW bug!

Great shop that pays attention to detail. There paint jobs are always spot on. If your looking for a good shop to help you with your resto project this is the place. Bill and his team are professionals in this business. I have had this car since I was 15 years old. My dad and I had partially restored it 34 yeas ago. After a deployment I was able to finish restoring this gem myself and was able to bring it the Klassic Rides for body, paint work.

I couldn't be more happy. They will also honor there work. If you have any issues after getting your car back I'll tell you with up most confidence Bill will take care of you. Thank you Klassic Rides

I had a used Mustang, I trusted these guys with doing work on it to restore it, $120,000 later, all they got done was the chassis and body frame. The body frame wasn't even in that good shape! It still has to be fixed. Very poor quality work, had another mechanic look at it once I had my doubts and they could do the same work for 1/2 the cost! They take forever to respond to your emails and it's really hard to get them to honor their agreements. Overpriced Poor quality Long response times $120,000 just for what you see here.

I got screwed over, don't let them do it to you! Edit 4/3/19 in response to business reply: I pulled the car out from the shop after hearing the prices that I would be charged for further work. Examples are $40,000 to install the Dash $10,000 to do the wire $20,000 to paint $2,000 to adapt the front 2 seats After paying for things like a $10,000 sandblasting job.seeing those prices, no way I was going to let them use me anymore.

I got good mechanics now that are completing the project, trustworthy, reliable, good quality. We are still finding issues in the bodywork, I work in the welding industry, there's no way you can tell me that the body had proper welds for structural integrity. We know when metal work is done properly and when it's not.

Just had these guys do a full suspension for my '59 Studebaker truck. After having conversations in person they made me feel at ease about my project. I drove the truck down and dropped it off. Over the next several weeks they replaced the front solid axle and leaf springs with a new Heidts kit and replaced the stock rear with a triangulated four link and Ford 8.8.

They had to do a lot of custom work as there isn't a true kit for these trucks, not to mention all the extra things that come up in a project like this. I drove it home yesterday and it's great! Handles wonderfully and rides super smooth. I'll be bringing it back when I'm ready to do a motor swap or body work for sure.

I agree with David T's review. I mistakenly gave them the benefit of the doubt when I first hired them to paint my classic and replace the vinyl roof. They definitely use a "bait and switch" approach with their estimates and warranty. The initial paint estimate was $15,000 and soared to over $30,000. They installed the wrong vinyl roof - burgundy instead of white as requested.

I did negotiate a lower final price but that was only after threatening to sue them. The car is beautiful but it was a mistake to hire them for the mechanical restoration thereafter. The mechanical restoration estimate was $11,500 (August 2017). Like the paint job it ballooned to $27,000. What's worse is the pitiful quality of the work. After initially picking it up in November 2017 it failed after just 500 miles - during Thanksgiving week in another state.

Their solution? Just drive it back manually shifting the car despite the transaxle dysfunction and numerous other problems. I barely got it back to North Carolina. You would think when I picked up again in February 2018 they would have gone over it with additional care to fix any restoration or warranty work (they call that rework and bill you a second time) before giving me the car.

That didn't happen. Once again, out of state, the car's electrical system failed - during a thunderstorm - and was towed to a specialty shop. It had a short circuit which their "operations manager, " Will Van Meter, failed to detect when he replaced the main fuse which had blown. He never bothered to determine why the fuse blew. Isn't that important? Ironically when I called him he said if I had any further problems just to send them the bill and they would reimburse me.

So far that hasn't happened. It gets better. After another 500 miles the transmission literally dropped out of the car. Three of the six bolts connecting it to the differential had unscrewed themselves, fallen out, causing a catastrophic loss of fluid permanently damaging the transaxle which had to be replaced. Although I was driving the car on an interstate at the time, and narrowly avoided causing several accidents, I was fortunate that I was near a large city.

I called Klassic and they offered no support at all - no advice, no recommended service firms, nothing. I had to take a bus to get to my destination then fly back a week later to pick up my car. The cost? Another $3,000. I did send Billy West, a co-owner, a very angry letter complete with colorful metaphors but Billy doesn't usually respond to mail - ordinary or emails.

I guess he's busy. As to that "excellent warranty" Billy claimed in his August 2017 post there's seems to be a lot of confusion at Klassic. Will Van Meter said its a lifetime warranty and all you have to do is send them the bill. Their "business manager" Frederick Rice says you need to have them do any "repairs, " transport the car to them (in this case from Texas), and need their approval for anyone else to perform the work.

What makes that interesting is that doesn't appear anywhere on any of the billing statements. In fact the word "warranty" is never mentioned at all. As a matter of fact when I threatened litigation, again, Klassic specifically denied ".any form of warranty for services previously performed, express or implied." I guess they think they can rewrite several hundred years of business law.

If you buy a pencil at Wal-Mart and it doesn't work you do get your money back. Why? It has an implied warranty that it will work. Same applies to Klassic. Fortunately I have all my communication records including a recording of Mr. Van Meter's reimbursement promise so that should help restore their memories. I can't imagine what their management staff meetings must be like when it comes to the subject of "warranties." Ironically it did get worse.

When I finally got the car to my destination I discovered these folks didn't use self-locking bolts on the exhaust system. Guess what happened? Yes, four of the eight fell out, just like the transaxle. So much for customer satisfaction and striving for perfection. I decided to have an expert inspect the car to see if there were any other "hidden" issues.

There were. The carbureator was running rich - 200% at idle and 300% at cruise. I'll bet that helped with fuel mileage, eh? Other sundry items, some of which were "restored" or "repaired" multiple times didn't work - power antenna, power window, etc. Basically I have a very beautiful "dream" car that has turned into a nightmare. It's less dependable now then it was before I "restored" it.

If you want to have lots of problems with your car then these are the best folks to help you with that. Otherwise find someone else. Finally, the front office staff are very nice - Rob, Terry, and Linda but this isn't like going to Pep Boys. Maybe if they performed the work it would turn out much better.

I own a classic 72 Corvette LT1, purchased 3 years ago from SuperChevy Magazine, it was their "Project Homewrecker". The editor and brand manager of Super Chevy Magazine purchased the car and owned it for 7 years. Later he offered it for sale and I was lucky enough to win the bid on ebay. I was looking for a trusted mechanic/shop to help me maintain the investment and even improve upon.

After a couple of failed attempts and frustration I found a gem of classic car restoration in Denver, NC. The company is Klassic Rides. I called and quickly made arrangements to check them out. Upon arrival I was met by Billy and Fred, the owners, they took me on a tour- a well laid out and organized shop. I was introduced to every department-a highly trained group of professionals.

I saw quality and craftsmanship that I can't describe. I knew instantly this is where my Vette would go for any futute 'Projects' of my own. So with that said: I dropped of my 72 to Billy 1.3.18, with a list of some needed TLC, I have no doubt that I will be 100% overwhelmed at their end result.
