AC went out on car while on vacation. I became worried that there might be something wrong with the engine. They inspected the car for me. They were able to tell me what was wrong with the the AC ( couldn't repair due to time constraints). They told me engine was fine. This was a great peace of mind for me since I had a 6 hour drive home in the morning. I was a woman alone with my family and they did reliable diagnostic service and even gave me a print out for my mechanic at home. I made it home with no problems.

I cannot recommend Kars. The front CV axles were replaced in my Subaru - unfortunately they were replaced with bad CV axles. The owner noted something was "not right" after the repair and recommended replacing a wheel bearing (more $). After driving the vehicle home, it was very apparent something was "not right." There were very loud clicks and clacks coming from the front wheel wells when accelerating.

I contacted the owner to express my concern with the new axles and he said, "There is nothing wrong with the axles. they are brand new." And if I wanted them to replace them again, I would have to pay for the work. So, I took the car to another mechanic, who diagnosed the problem as bad CV axles. The bad CV axles were replaced by another mechanic, and this fixed the problem that Kars had created but would not take credit for.

Check engine light came on in my Mercedes. Took my vehicle to Kars expecting an expensive repair. Turned out to be a rubber hose had been chewed by a rodent. Very minor repair. Also asked them to check my break pads, expecting them to need replacing due to high mileage. Kars told me my break pads did not need replacing yet. My point is, they could have done unnecessary work and billed me much more than they did. These people are professional and honest. I would recommend them to anyone needing service.

My wife and I were passing through town and had a coolant part go bad and lost all of our coolant and it would not hold any coolant. When we arrived via tow truck at 3pm, Jimmy immediately had his crew begin working on our car and had it diagnosed within minutes. The part needed to come in overnight, but he assured me we would be back on the road early the next morning. Well, that's exactly what happened.

If I lived in this area I WOULD ONLY USE KARS for my automotive needs. This level of service and a man who keeps his word is hard to find. Blessings to Jimmy and his wonderful team!

KARS Auto Repair is a very professional repair shop. We came to Ellijay from out of town; Several hours from home. We had truck problems. I looked at the reviews for auto repair shops. This one had the best ratings. They got my truck in that same day. It was repaired that afternoon. Very efficient and knowledgeable people. Didn't take advantage of our situation either. Cost was appropriate for the repair. I'm a mechanic too. That's how I know. 5 STARS

Highly recommend, Jimmy was very professional and personable, diagnosed, explained and repaired my Honda Element and got me back on the road at a very reasonable price!

We would recommend this place. Jimmy was very personable, accommodating and honest. He quickly fixed our Volvo and got us back on the road. Hopefully, we won't have to, but if our car breaks again, we would not hesitate to come back here.

Needed brakes desperately while visiting my sister from SC. It was Friday afternoon and I planned to return home the next day. Mr Jimmy came in on Saturday during closed hours to replace the rotors and brakes. He also picked up the parts personally for the repairs. This was my first time at Kars but it will not be my last. Exceptional customer service from getting me home after leaving my car which needed brakes and rotors all around new battery. Veronica was amazingly helpful they completed the work in record time and I was on my way. They are my go to from now on.

Came to town on vacation and had some issues with our Honda CRV where even the dealership we bought it from misdiagnosed the problem. While it was a little costly to get fixed, but cheaper than back home, the CRV is running better now than when we purchased it. I would recommend KARS to anyone, Jimmy is the manager and was honest and upfront right from the beginning.

It has good mechanics, but you'll need lots of money and do without your vehicle for 2 months, promises are useless

After spending thousands of dollars replacing parts at another mechanic shop this place was able to fix our problem with the $90 part. They knew immediately why the engine kept cutting out and instead of throwing expensive parts out it they were honest it did not overcharge us.

Wow! Absolutely NO explanation to date, guess they've helped make my decision we definitely wont go back to Kars in Ellijay again.

I took my wife's vehicle to Kars on the recommendation of Absolute Best Tire. After a couple of days, they completed the work, and my wife drove the car back home. As she pulled into the driveway she heard a loud clicking sound. She rolled the car back and forth and I heard it too - it sounded like something rattling around in the wheel. I took the wheel off to see if anything was obviously loose and the gold axel nut was completely off and sitting in the bottom of the rim.

It had apparently either spun off during the drive home and had not been tightened or it had not been put back on at all. We called Kars and they said to put the nut back on as best we could (as I don't have a socket to fit it) and drive it back. When I arrived, I told Janice, the owner, about the situation. Not only was she completely unapologetic, she scolded me for taking the wheel off saying, "I wish you hadn't taken it apart." I replied, "Taken what apart?

I just took the tire off to look. Should I have not touched it and had it towed back here instead?" Had I just driven it back, I may have lost the nut completely and done more damage. I can't believe that a business that made such a huge mistake would be so rude in addressing that mistake. The technician who tightened the nut did apologize, but the owner said nothing else and stormed off in a huff.

This type of thing happens, but the rudeness in addressing the situation was utterly shocking. Revised 4/8 - Apparently Janice is following the reviews closely as she called less than 24 hours after my post to apologize - profusely. I will consider her for future business.
