Japanese Auto Masters was founded in 1982 by Tommy and Cindi Potter in a small building shop close to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Tommy originated Japanese Auto Masters to address the needs of consumers driving Japanese-made vehicles at a time when there were no independent repair service centers that specialized exclusively in all Japanese makes and models.
How long have you worked for Japanese Auto Masters? How long have you been a Service Advisor? I started as a shop porter and moved up over the years to eventually become the Assistant Parts Manager. My career has also included various positions throughout the automotive industry. What do you like to do in your free time?

All of our Technicians are required to become ASE certified and must maintain their certifications while they are employed by Japanese Auto Masters.
True, honest professionals and the best service! Thanks for taking care of my daughter's Hyundai Accent (engine coolant, transmission fluid, and filter replacements). After reading countless positive reviews, I chose Japanese Auto Masters for my 2010 Prius and 2011 Corolla. Taking my cars to a new service station is never a fun process, but they made it VERY easy. They gave each car a thorough lookover and let me know what needed to be done now, in the near future and in the not-so-near future. I was THOROUGHLY impressed with the way they delivered the information on my cars to me.

Via text they sent me a full detail report for each car. With photos showing a worn part and what needed to be fixed. I liked this SO much better than being blindsided with a phone call saying I needed XYZ and put on the spot. They were fast with the service, everyone I came into contact with was friendly, and I felt zero pressure to get service I know I didn't need.

Can't say that's been the case everywhere else. The pricing for everything I had done (brake fluid flush, transmission fluid flush, new brake light and oil change) was also very reasonable. I will 100% be going back with all of my vehicles! Feels nice to have found a service station like this.

After extensive research, JAM was the obvious choice as the service center for my Lexus. Their reputation was the biggest factor leading to my selection. They maintain a friendly and professional atmosphere, and the employees kept me apprised of my car's status. They even left a little extra "Thank You" in the car. Choose with confidence!

Japanese Auto Masters. Thank you Tom for the service your company has provided. Tom was kind enough to call me and let me know if I needed anything to contact him. With that said I'm disappointed in the service I received. New battery purchased and I was told to jump start it and I asked why do I have to jump start it? It's a brand new battery. Called and got no reply then called again and they said take it to an interstate battery dealer. Not real happy. Car is sitting dead!

I'm so glad I decided to trust the Google reviews and try this business. I have a 2005 Lexus that has relatively low mileage. I had several instrument panel lights come on. Scheduled an appointment, they checked out the problems, explained what the immediate and underlying issues were. I okayed the estimate, they delivered on the repair on time and I swear the car is driving better than it was when it was gifted to me nearly 4 years ago. I would not hesitate to use them again. They are professional, courteous, friendly and I definitely feel like I got great work at a reasonable cost

Thank goodness we found this place. Our 2003 Camry was running rough with shaking and a flashing check engine light. I was able to have the car towed to their shop the day of the repair. They diagnosed the CE light and found the "new" spark plugs I had replaced by another shop a few years prior were indeed not new at all. The also repaired a broken radiator fan.

Now the Camry drives smooth and like new. We couldn't be more happy with the results. They had great communication throughout the process too. I highly recommend this place to service your Toyota. Thank you.

I brought my vehicle in for service first thing in the morning (at 8a) and received it right before closing on a Friday. The JAM team was able to address all my issues going in (change transmission fluid, inspect my brakes, address my air conditioning not blowing cold) and recommended additional services as they saw fit with their free diagnostics service (for customers who already paid for a different service).

I felt like they had my best interest in mind and did not feel sketched out or ripped off at any point. Pricing I would say is fair for the amount of work involved. I will be returning for my second service in a couple weeks to address different issues. Only thing that sucks is they aren't open on the weekends! I will 100% recommend JAM to anyone with JDM vehicles that need services done, these guys are awesome!

I was referred by a friend to take my vehicle to Japanese Auto Masters and also have heard good things on Nextdoor neighborhood app. I took my vehicle in for State Inspection and the service I received was very good. I need a couple of things done to pass inspection that need to be fixed and the price was very reasonable. The staff is great and friendly and always keeping you informed of the progress of your vehicle while it's there. I found my go to place when ever I need car repairs. I highly recommend Japanese Auto Masters to anyone looking for an honest place to take your cars too.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had my truck looked over since I noticed something leaking. They determined no work needed to be done, which most places would have told me there were issues that would cost a lot. Whenever I do need something fixed I'm going back because of how honest they are and their good customer service.

We made an appointment with Japanese Auto Master for the following Thursday. We ended up having the van towed there on Monday. Everyone there was so helpful. They were super busy, but worked us in and had the car repaired by Wednesday. The work was excellent and the cost was fair. It was our first experience with Japanese Auto Masters, but it will definitely not be our last!

My Honda Element was a tricky one to fix! It was running rich and stalling every time I came to a stop. I went to three previous mechanics within 3 weeks trying to get it fixed before being referred to Japanese Auto Masters. After only a couple of days, they were able to determine the problem and fix it. They were all so friendly and quick to communicate. I highly recommend them!
