2006 Nissan Altima was running loud. I was scared it was the transmission, but friends referred me to HRM who discovered it was a loose exhaust pipe that needed replacing. I made an appointment to bring it in to do the repair, alignment, balancing/rotation, and inspection sticker. They were done by afternoon, all at the quoted price. I am glad to have a place that works on older cars, and will be using them again for any needed repairs!

We've had great experiences bringing our cars here over the last four years. This is where we come when I can't figure out what is broken or how to fix it. They've done well keeping our older Subaru and our Honda Odyssey on the road.

Great service, very knowledgeable and super efficient! They fixed my F-150 CHECK ENGINE light in no time. Straight to the source to pass my emission. Two other places couldn't figure out what was it and they did in less than 2 hours. Very happy customer that will definitely come back!

Critical: Professionalism, Value HRM automotive has maintained and done repairs to my vehicles for years. The work done has been good however they definitely charge more than most shops do. They will not even try to work with you on price. I will not be using them again. $1600+ for timing belt and axles. On a Honda civic. No thanks Tim or Bill! I can not say enough good things about this mechanic. I feel awful that its taken me this long to write a review. You know that sweaty panicked feeling you get when there is something wrong with your car and you just KNOW that your bank account is going to be depleted after? I never feel that way anymore. When something is wrong, I call my favorite mechanic immediately and they are ALWAYS fair and fast.

I have brought all of my cars to them for a variety of issues and recommend them very highly. If they ever go out of business, I will just buy a bike because I don't think I will ever trust anyone else with my car like I do them.

I've been a customer of HRM for nearly 20 years. Best mechanic I've ever had and we've lived all over the USA. The company name is perfect - HONEST and reliable. Tim is a highly competent mechanic! We always received great service and honest assessments of our car's issues over the years. Your car is in good hands - we highly recommend HRM!

This has been my trusted automotive shop for the past 8 years. They are always honest, fair and you really do get what you pay for! I have had to take my car in for minor things at other automotive shops and it's ridiculous how they try to upsell you and make you feel that you have to get so many items worked on within your vehicle. HRM Automotive will only charge you for what they believe is essential work for your vehicle. I do believe that they are the reason why my Honda Civic has been running so smoothly these past 8 years. Highly recommend them!

We had another very positive experience at HRM. They are indeed honest and reliable mechanics. We brought our 14 year old Toyota Sienna into the garage. There were noises every time we braked. We were worried that the brake pads were worn and that the calipers were cutting into the rotors. HRM's mechanics found nothing wrong with the brakes. The brake pads were only halfway used and had plenty of wear in them still.

They did not advocate replacement of brake pads or anything else to boost up the bill. They could have easily recommended a litany of repairs and adjustments but they did not. Another garage might have come up with a list of reasons to pad the cost but HRM did not. Instead, they charged $58 to cover labor. In short, we were not hornswoggled! What a pleasure to find that this shop lives up to its name: honest and reliable. We are grateful and found the entire experience refreshing and heartwarming!

Update: I took my vehicle to the dealership the following weekend. Complete brake work on both rear tires to include rotors, pads, and brake line flushed for total cost of $640 (the brake flush was $180). So, If I didn't get the brake flush it would have been only $460. Where HRM a few days earlier exaggerated issues with my vehicle to include needing calipers and gave me a quote of well over $1100. Anyone reading this review, please take heed and stay away from HRM Automotive!

This is the only shop I'll bring our vehicles to. Great work by honest mechanics for a fair price.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I took my son's Envoy XL to them to have the ac repaired on 5/22/2017. I told them it was working, but blowing hot air and I thought it must have a freon leak. They asked if I had a diagnostic run on it to determine what was wrong with it. I told them no. So, they recommended that I have one done. I agreed.

They called me and told me that it wasn't the ac. It was the clutch fan motor that needed to be replaced. They quoted me $260 for the parts & $300 for the labor. When I picked it up the bill was nearly $800! A couple of days later my AC stopped working. They claim to be honest and reliable but this place is the complete opposite. I do not recommend anyone to come near this place.

What a great family owned and operated business! These mechanics are trustworthy, thorough, and kind. They never seemed rushed when listening to my vehicle's issues or explaining what they found, yet they always get things done quickly, sooner than I expect! If you're looking for a mechanic you can trust, that won't try to swindle you out of an extra dollar, you have found the place.

After seeing their commercials on TV we took our 95 Lincoln there for an estimate on repairs. They charged my mom $65 for looking at the car but did no work and then told us they could not get any Reliable Parts for that vehicle it was too old and we should just sell it it could not be fixed. The parts they said it needed which they couldn't get were like $600 online.

We took it to another shop and they fixed the problem for only $80. And they told us the parts HRM recommended it needed we're fine and did not need replacing. There's definitely something funny going on there don't take your car there. Their attitudes were a far cry from what their commercial seems to represent

Kevin and the technicians are very patient and knowledgeable, they addressed all my questions and concerns. I am far from expert with automotive but they made it better for me to understand what needs to be done with my vehicle. I am highly satisfied and would go back in the future! I gave them 4-stars four years ago but I'm not certain about how things are now since Bill left. Does anyone know where he works now?

I tried these guys once and I am happy with the service. Very polite, straight forward and timely. Will use them again.

Good experience for mom and I. I went in convinced mom's car needed a new alternator due to symptoms. They insisted on an alternator system test first. It passed the test. They said it was not the alternator. It turned out to be a bad new Interstate battery purchased from NTB Port Royal Rd, Springfield.

I've been a customer for almost 20 yrs and Honest and Reliable describes HRM well. The dealership recently quoted me $900 in needed repairs. I went to HRM for a second opinion and they said the issues were not a concern and my vehicle was fine to drive. Thanks HRM!

It's always an experience filled with uncertainty when trying to find a decent mechanic. I tried HRM for the first time and have found an auto repair shop that gives good, friendly service for a fair price. I knew of one problem with my car but mentioned another concern I had. They fixed the known problem right away but assured me there was no additional work the car needed. I appreciate their honest analysis and will keep coming back.

Easily the best shop in the area and one of the best mechanics I have ever been to. I have been going there for about three years now. There have been times that I have taken my car in to them swearing that work needs to be done (used to work on my cars a lot when I was in my teens) and they would check it out and tell me, "Nope, everything looks good." About a year ago my alternator started to go so I took it in and had them replace it.

Pick it up a day or two later and go on about my business. About a week later some warmer weather hit and I noticed the A/C wasn't working. Called Tim up, and he assured me that even though he was really busy he would get to it. Sure enough, he checked it out and the A/C not working was due to a connection on the new alternator. He fixed it, no charge.

I also had a wheel bearing replaced there back when I first got my car. They replaced it and it started acting up again 15 months later. Even though I was three months out of their "shop warranty" they still fixed it, free of charge. I have more stories like that about these guys so I won't keep going on. I won't go to another mechanic for 50 miles.

Honest, trustworthy and great mechanics. So glad too have found this place as we're new to the area and finding a good mechanic is tough.

This place is incredible. My husband randomly found this place and has been a couple of times for regular maintenance. I recently got new tires at Walmart and they has a huge sign that said "Walmart does not check tires for safety". Um, red flag? I googled the type of tires and saw all good reviews, so went ahead with the purchase. Though there were no issues after the tires we installed, with the holidays and unexpected weather season coming soon, I'm not one to take chances.

I mainly communicated with Kevin, who answered the phone when I originally made my appt (which I eventually cancelled because I wasn't able to drop by car off). I called them last minute and asked if I could just come in and wait. He said he'll make it work and allowed me to come in 30 minutes after that call. Seriously?! Can't get better than that.

I arrived and was greeted by Kevin again, who was (again) very nice and courteous. I was there 15 minutes tops, he even asked me if I wanted something to drink. He came back and told me that they lifted the car and checked the gauge (I have no idea what this means :/) and he said everything looked fine. I asked if I need to check out or anything and he said "nope, just make sure you come back again". Wow!

Do you know those other dishonest companies out there would have taken advantage of an unknowledgeable gal like me, but not these guys. They really live up to their name and I will definitely be back! Thanks HRM!

I have been going to hrm for many years and have always received the best and honest service around. Bill and Tim are awesome and always helpful.

I didn't get anything fixed on this visit, but customer service was excellent. I'm in the process of moving and my check engine light came on. I stopped at HRM on my way out of town for a second opinion from another shop in DC. Bill checked the Comp codes and assured me that I shouldn't have to worry about the failed sensors, and as long as my car was driving ok, I could continue rolling on. The other shop wanted me to replace both.

I drove in here with some small trepidation. The building is old but well cared for but the look and feel of this place isn't "slick" and I love good marketing. As soon as I walked in the door however I was greeted professionally and enthusiastically by Tim. He made me feel welcome. I was in and out (needed headlamps replaced for my TAHOE) within 30 minutes.

The most impressive thing for me was the testimony of the other three patrons at the shop who each just LOVED the place. One guy has been coming here since 1991! Finally on checkout these guys have APPLE PAY! How cool is that! I guess you can't judge a book by its cover! IN THE WORDS OF Arnold Schwarzenegger "I'll be back!"

When the air conditioning on my truck went out, my friends recommended HRM to me. The staff was friendly and professional. We briefly talked about the symptoms and what the issue may be. I dropped my truck off in the morning and received a call 4 hours later. Over the phone, I was given the rundown of what was found, what is needed to fix the issue, the amount of time it would take, and of course the itemized total for everything. Sadly, the amount was much more than I had intended to spend.

So I decided to postpone the fix. When I picked up my truck that afternoon, without even asking for one, I was given a print out itemized list of charges in the event that I brought my vehicle back to HRM. My co-workers, who are a bit more mechanically inclined, looked at the itemized list and prices. They said that the prices were extremely good and that the overall cost was quite fair for that amount of work that needed to be done.

When I get a break in my busy work schedule and can set aside the funds to fix the air conditioning in my truck, HRM will most certainly get my business. Overall, I am quite satisfied with their service.
