Hillen Tire & Auto Service

Great service and good people. I bought my tires through TirePros and got an appointment for. Ext day install. I also a had them check alignment, rear shocks (which my dealer wanted to replace) and a low speed suspension noise. They found a minor leak in one shock, and advised against replacement. The suspension noise turned out after their inspection to be just one of the tires having a flat spot.

They did the alignment (I got a printout of before and after values) and I was back in the road. They could have chosen to "find" and fix the shocks and other things and instead weee above board and customer focused. They get my future business.

Disappointed with service. Had 10:30 appointment to have 2 tires replaced. Waited 3hrs with no direct explanation or concern for the delay. Heard customer service rep tell others service was backed up because a tech left the previous Fri. One person makes such an impact. Maybe management should adjust work load. No brake check, no report on tire tread of existing tires, no check on psi of existing tires ( which were too high). At check out was told "sorry for the delay". Really!

I had a relatively complicated need - dealer where I bought my car was bringing original tires from my car and rims were coming from a third party. Phoenix was great at keeping an eye on my order and keeping me up to date when rims were late. Tires were mounted and balanced perfectly and price was really reasonable. They paid special attention when a screw was found in one of the tires and after examining we agreed a patch was not required. Highly recommend you use them for any kind of service!

I have been going to hillen tires for a very long time for all my mechanical needs. These people are very honest and do a great job. My mom recently took her car there. And the owner of the business advise my mom to not get repairs on her vehicle anymore and it wasn't worth spending the money. I thought that was so honest and ethical. I really appreciate it. My mom did get rid of her car and bought a new car.

Had a great experience at Hillen recently replacing a tire that lost a battle with a giant screw. The moment we showed up, Phoenix at the front counter pulled out a free soccer ball for my toddler. Then we were up and running again quickly. Definitely recommend them! Service: Tires

I ran over a nail right when I got off of work- of course when all tire places also close. I got extremely worried when most tire places were booked until the next evening. The next morning I called Hillen @730 am & they answered immediately & understood that without a tire I clearly can't get to work. Despite being fully booked, they squeezed me in & the manager Brian even did the work for me, since his guys were busy already! I was informed that I need new tires soon & they didn't make me feel pressured at all. I got to work by 9 still too. Will definitely be going back to get my tires replaced!

Just moved here and needed a truck inspected and minor work done. I feel liked I really lucked out choosing Hillen. The place is nice, clean and comfortable and the people were professional and very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure I knew what to do switching tags and made suggestions that went beyond the work I had done. Looks like I found my go to shop for auto work.

Best place in town for any service work. I've been using them for over 10 years and 7 different vehicles. I have recommended them to many friends. Brian is great! Always a straight shooter. Their work is fast and top quality.

I needed an oil change and found Hillen Tire and Auto. They were able to get me in right away. The owner and employees were polite and friendly, and the establishment was clean and comfortable. My service (oil change and tire rotation) took about 90 minutes. I am a happy customer, and will return the next time I need these services, or others they may provide. I'd recommend this business to car owners who care about their vehicles.

I had a flat tire and thought I just needed to have it repaired. I was surprised to hear that I needed 4 new tires. Brian showed my husband and me the cracks in my tires, that would have resulted in a blowout. I am very grateful that they didn't just repair the tire, but checked to make sure the others were safe. I will definitely use Hillen in the future!

I've been coming to this place for a few years now. The service is always great the mechanics do a great job. And the owner is very honest and upfront. They always help me out when I'm in a bind. Highly recommended.

Brian and staff are wonderful! We had some questions about my BMW failing the inspection and he was super clear with next steps and what the state rules are. This was helpful as we just had a to clean a few things up and the car passed on the next visit. I also appreciated them allowing me to have my tires delivered and they put them on. My wheels didn't see a scratch.

This cannot be said for a lot of tire places especially down in the Towson/Lutherville area. We're car people so going somewhere new is always scary but we needed that inspection before we PCS'd (Military move). If we were going to still be living here I would absolutely use them again.

I had the absolute best experience with Hillen Tire Pros. I had a flat tire I drove on way too long and Brian was so helpful and understanding. Fast forward two months, the air pressure in my tires were off, I called and they said stop on by anytime! They checked and added more air in my tires and sent me on my way! Highly recommend this knowledgeable kind and helpful team!

Took my car here to get it diagnosed. They said they would call me before doing anything. When I went to pick it up they charged my $170 because they did an oil change without asking and diagnostic time. I've never heard of a car shop charging for diagnostic time when you take it there with a problem.

Hey, they were able to fix my car problem without trying to upsell me on this ten year old car! They always do great work and they have someone on the phones who sounds professional and not bothered by everything. It's surprising how many auto shops do that. Anyway, they're my car shop of choice for most things. I may try to make them my shop of choice for everything, at this rate. They're solid dudes and dudesses.

The management and staff are total professionals and the most friendly and courteous people you'll ever want to meet. I truly thought I was going to have to wait for several hours before the work on my vehicle was completed but this was not the case at all.

Fast, reliable service and good prices. The owners will tell you what you do and don't need to do for your car. Their advice has saved me money on unnecessary repairs and also created a more reliable vehicle for me.

Went in to have one of my tires checked out to see if I had a nail, or foreign object in my tire. Tech got my car inside the shop to find that I had a screw inside my tire. Service writer approached me to tell me that the price of the tire, other charges came to $302 for one tire. In return, I said never mind, that price is a bit much, and I can beat that price somewhere else. I went somewhere else, and got the tire plugged for $15.

Not pleased w service. Recently had new tires put on both cars (>$3000). One of the tire pressure monitors on my car was damaged and the shop has been unable to correct it despite my brining it back twice. It still does not work correctly. I am told I need to bring it back when the error is active. Unfortunately the error goes on and off intermittently.

The same thing happened on my wife's car and she has since taking it back multiple times. They have offered to quote me a price on replacing both monitors that they damaged. Don't plan to give them any additional money. The fifth tire on my 2018 jeep (brand new full size spare) was ruined during removal and blamed on tire rot and armor all (tire was two years old and not rotted and I don't use armor all).

No apology or compensation. Just passed the buck. They also tried to charge me $150 over the estimate I received on my car tires. I still ended up paying $60 more. Didn't feel like arguing. Definitely won't go back. Ashame as owner seemed like a standup guy.

Have gone to them twice. Once for my state inspection and most recently to get a general once over before a cross country road trip. They were super communicative and clear about what they recommended getting done and pricing for each. They got my car in the day after I called and had it done the same day. My car sounds so much happier!

We where driving to PA and had a tire start to go out on us. This was the closest auto spot. We where so upset and over the day, but honestly the customer service from Phoenix was so professional and kind. They got us in super fast with no appointment and took excellent care of us. We appreciate this business so much.

I cannot speak more highly of Brian and Hillen Tire. Brian has always been extremely honest, transparent and overly helpful. Most recently, I wanted to replace my rims and tires and Brian spent a ton of time walking my through everything I needed, including pointing me to a third party website where I could purchase the most affordable new rims. Brian was patient with all of my phone calls and emails as I peppered him with questions.

When it came time for the install, Brian stayed an hour after closing time on a Saturday to make sure he could get my truck completed that same day even though they were slammed with other projects that day. Before bringing in two wheels for mounting and balancing I asked if they could install the tires without scratching the rims to which they agreed. Dave did an amazing job with the rims and they are pretty much spot free from any scratches or blemishes. Even offered me some bags to put the wheels in and helped carry them out. Will be back. Thank you for the great work.

This place is awesome! I have been bringing my SUV in here for almost 2 years now for oil changes and have had my tires replaced. Very reasonable prices and friendly customer service. They complete jobs when they say they will. I have never left feeling unhappy with the work that was completed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Needed a flat tire checked, same tire they had patched a few months earlier. Was expecting to have to replace the tire but turns out it was just a faulty valve. No charge! The service here is matches only by their courtesy and professionalism. They have my business going forward!

I saw some poor reviews so I wanted to add my 2 cents. I've been going to these guys for about 10 years for tires and some car work. In addition to basic work such as oil changes they have also replace a clutch and wheel bearing for me. Overall, I would say I have been quite happy. I feel the prices are fair and the work is good. They even saved me a bunch of money when my catalytic converter died at 70k miles.

I figured I was out of warranty and would be shelling out $1k, but they suggested I take it to the dealer since emissions components often have longer warranties. They were right and the dealer fixed it for free. So, I think the honesty level at this shop is high. I know there is often high mechanic turnover in this business so maybe some folks had bad luck with a particular mechanic. If that happens at this shop, talk to Brian the manager. He has always been strait with me.

Fast, friendly, & fair! These guys did great work on my car, and I will be returning to them for all my future maintenance needs!

Used them as a recommended installer from tirebuyer.com they were great and reasonably priced. I later (months later) got new tires and rims that I was installing myself. When I had an issue getting one of the lug nuts off I took the car up to them and they not only got the lug nut off but they also put the new tire on for free. I don't live in the area anymore but I still drive the 30 min to use them.

Good service, but make sure you reserve your tires before you go. I wasn't aware of this so I showed up to get new tires and was told they would not be available until 2 days later. This was after calling the weekend before to see if they had them in stock. The person I talked to said yes and that I didn't need to do anything other than show up with my car. I even explained that I would be coming the following weekend and was told that wouldn't be an issue.?

This place has wasted my time for the last time. Not only did they have my vehicle for three days for a State inspection and repairs because their employees do not communicate properly between each other but after the repairs were made they failed my vehicle for window tint. Fine. I was told exactly, "Just bring it back after you get the tint of the windows and we will give you the Inspection certificate." I drove the car back and was told I could get my certificate because the inspector was not there.

I live 30+ minutes from Hillen Tire and this wasted my time. I was not told to call ahead or schedule an appointment. I was simply told to bring the car back and get my certificate. This is highly unprofessional. Never again. Hillen Tire & Auto will never get another single, solitary dollar of my hard-earned money. My time is worth more than that to me.
