The skill and experience levels of my people cannot be found in most shops. We can maintain your vehicle as well as repair it when it is broken. We do most repairs on most vehicles. Maintenance is integral in our plan to keep your car going as long as possible.

Greg's Automotive is the BEST repair shop around! They are honest and do great work! They ask you what is going on and look into it and get back to you with a spot on diagnosis and don't try to upsell you or lie like dealerships. I have a warranty with a dealership, but if the issue is not covered by the warranty (aka free) I will ALWAYS give Greg's my business because I TRUST them! Mr. Greg and his right hand man, Service manager Mark are so nice and easy to talk to!

I was recommend Greg's shop by a close friend and was not disappointed! I called to have them check out my starter in the morning and they had me in the shop and starter replaced all within a few hours. Good work and friendly service. Would recommend.

Very glad I went to these guys with a pre purchase inspection on a used car I was looking to buy. They found a possible transmission issue and even the idea of a bad transmission turned me away from the purchase. The car was already very over priced and they told me it's not worth it to buy at the price I was going to pay, especially if possible tranny problems. Couldn't be happier with the diagnosis, and will definitely return to these guys when needed.

Really cool and good customer service, walk in for smog certificate on my 740 volvo wagon, Alex a good smog tech she took care of the smog and performed the test like a pro. definitely recommend these folks to anyone in need of secure service.

My brakes needed repair and I asked my dad to help me find a reliable place. He did some research and found Greg's Automotive because they had really good reviews. Dad said phone service was quick and helpful right away. Made the appointment and dropped off car. They called as soon as they checked out the car. Told me I only needed the front brakes and rotors which we kinda already figured.

They were even able to get my wheel locks off without me having the key. They did not try to upsell anything just what we needed done. Very informative on break down of cost estimate. Even was willing to put a card on file to charge later so my dad could drive back home an hour away. I will definitely be coming back here for any future service/work on my car.

Failed a smog at a different shop. Brought my failed vehicle to them. The tech advised me I passed the smog after they did there test. He called me in to explain what the shop before did and how they incorrectly pinched one of the hoses wrong. Since then all my vehicles go to them for test. Thanks guys

My family and I have been using Greg's for years and have always been happy. This time they were able to fix my vehicle quickly and inexpensively. The dealer was going to charge me more than 3x what Greg's did! They also spent time educating me on my vehicle and maintenance and prevention. I will definitely be coming back. Took my car here to get it ready for smog, mark made me feel like choice was a no brainer, he said the problem would get handled and it did. My 1998 Acura Rl has misfiring on the whole right side of the engine, took it to acouple shops to handle the cylinders and 1500 in nothing. I took it to gregs, and when it was released the misfiring was gone. My cars been running pretty smooth, and the best part about this place is marks customer service, and the mechanic. These guys are great, my cars are coming here now

Greg's is the best. Mark is great and always nice, personable, and accommodating. They are always fast and efficient and reasonably priced. The first time we went to Greg's, they were recommended by AAA. That was about 15 years ago and we won't use anyone else. Thank you Greg's.

My first time experience with Greg's Automotive was fantastic. Mark at the front desk was polite and courteous. He helped me along with what work needed to be done and how much time it needed to be in the shop. I already knew the issues that needed attending and was never up sold on anything more. The work was top notch and clean. I would recommend Greg's Automotive to anyone who needed work done. 10 stars if I could.

FYI, this is my first ever Yelp review. My family and I have been coming here forever (10+years). Whenever we need work or maintenance for any of our vehicles, this is the place to go. I have referred numerous friends here over the years. Marc (Serv Advisor) will do whatever he can to save you money, all the while making sure your really need the work and it's done right the first time!

You may not always want to hear the bad news, but if he says it needs to be done now, you better believe him, if not he will let you know you can go another few thousand miles.

Was looking for a good deal in an oil change, charged me $35 less than the Jiffy Lube next door and they were able to take my car in on the spot. While they were changing the oil, they found that my car was leaking coolant but unsure where. They said they needed to find the leak but I couldn't get it done that day. I ended up finding the leak and fixing the part myself, however, I wouldn't have known where to start without their recommendation to repair the leak. Long story short, these guys will only fix what needs fixing, won't up charge you for ridiculous things. Shout out Gio and Austin.

Can not thank these men enough. We needed a repair done to our battery terminal at the last minute. They walked over to where my car was parked and then helped me get it to the shop since it needed a little more work. Very kind group of guys working here! Very inexpensive! In one month I took my car in 4 times to get checked because it was overheating and each time they said couldn't find anything wrong with it- But my car kept overeating. weird but okay. I paid for this very problem to be solved and it wasn't solved. Where's my service? They finally found a problem once I broke a head gasket for the second time (no warranty?) Interesting because they couldn't find anything wrong with it literally ONE DAY PRIOR and "it should be running just fine" or so they said.

Maybe it's because I'm a woman that they ripped me off? - I'm not sure. They paid for my rental car but only for two days which wasn't helpful considering they took over a week to fix my car. Mark is unprofessional in the sense he isn't willing to help or satisfy his customers! Big waste of my time, energy and money! If you don't have money to just throw away on your car, I'd look some place else for services.

I made an appointment to bring my car in and after a full day and a half of having it they still hadn't even looked at it. So I told them not to bother, that I would pick up my car and take it somewhere else since they obviously didn't have time even though they said they did. I picked it up after hours and my windshield had a crack all the way across it that was not there when I dropped it off.

I called to talk to them about how this was possible and the "Service Advisor" Mark was extremely condescending and rude. Now I have to replace my windshield, because they won't even bother to call me back or consider that it could be their fault. If I could give negative stars for their customer service I would.

I have a number of cars, and have had Greg's work on all of them (with the exception of my 356B). Honest, prompt, communicative - they stand behind their work and do a great job. Zero hesitation in going back - starts at the top (Greg) and ripples across his entire team - thanks guys! p.s. - the Ranger with the 'bark' acceleration enhancement (aka stuck throttle).

Not at all happy with Gregs automotive. Charged over $1000 for parts that I found, by part number, for under $600. Retail! That was 4 weeks ago, now my daughter's car has broken down after oil "spurting" all over the place, but the mechanic can't find the source. An oil change was done with the previous service. Could it be that the filter wasn't tightened properly.

Now they want $3600 for a new engine. On a Kia Spectra 2006 with 140,000 miles on it. There is now supposed a crack in the radiator, which caused overheating. I am out of the country for my father's funeral right now, so a little frustrated at not being able to be there in person to look at it myself. Greg, what calibre of mechanics do you have that can't trace the source of a massive oil leak?

Came in for a Smog earlier in the year and wow, just overhearing the way he talked to his employees and customers was extremely off. I was glad to get my car back and leave as quickly as possible. The owner made me feel extremely uncomfortable when trying to conversate with me. He then tried to show off to the customers in the lobby by yelling at his techs and calling them names.

He assured us this would get them moving but one tech came in visibly irritated with the way he was being spoken to and the owner threw a hissy fit and said something about not needing him for the shop and that he could quit if he wanted. Really not something to discuss in the lobby with several customers. I personally don't think ownership or management know how to conduct business in front of paying customers.

I think belittling your employees doesn't make you look smart or professional. I also noticed on my smog receipt (which I can provide but will not post per my own privacy) that I was overcharged by $5. Not a big deal but pay attention to your receipts and quotes. *Greg states I have never been a customer - I have a processed payment receipt and invoice to prove it. THANKS!*

The. Cleanest bathrooms for a auto shop. Yes, I know. Why am I reviewing a bathroom!? Cuz that says a lot from an automotive place! Very friendly, quick and effective service. I was originally going across the street for my auto service but found they are way more expensive and rude. Came to ask price and fell in love with the friendliness. Check them out. You can also walk to Starbucks while you wait. Way to add a plus!

I went in to have two aftermarket headlight assemblies installed as one of my originals was broken. After installing, they told me the high beam in one light didn't work, they changed out bulbs and it still didn't work. So I paid them, called the place that had sold me the headlights, they were great at sending me a new set at no charge, I made another appointment and had the new one installed, paid again and drove home.

Before I trashed the old assembly I trouble shouted the malfunctioning assembly and found a broken filament in the bulb. I feel ripped off of the $100 dollar installation fee. I won't be going back.

The other day I was at Costco and a man backed into my truck while I was buckling-in my 3 year old daughter. He hit the bumper with enough force to lift the truck and make a very loud noise. He didn't see that I was there and drove off. Fortunately, there were many people around who took pictures of his plate. The reason I am writing this is because I needed the number for Greg's Automotive to replace my bumper and looked it up online.

It brought me to Yelp. I was surprised to see the negative ratings. My father has been using Greg's for years. He is extremely mechanically knowledgeable. He has replaced engines, transmissions, etc. He is just older now and wants someone else to twist the wrench for him. Since moving back to San Diego in the Mount Helix area, I have used Greg's to work on one of my vehicles.

I am a die-hard researcher and found that Greg's was very fair priced. Being a researcher, I looked at all the reviews to figure out the narrative of this and hoped to find a common thread. I did. There are a clear themes with the negative posts. First, those who were disgruntled wanted the cheapest price for parts. Shops with integrity don't use the cheapest parts.

If anyone young is ready this, please learn two things in life that will save you money, time, and frustration. Number 1, you get what you pay for. If it is cheap in price, it is cheap in quality. Number 2, if it seems too good to be true, then it really is. People make livings off of scamming others by thinking they can't pass up an unreal deal.

There was a final theme that was related to customer service. I don't know how much credence I put into this one. The language of the posts leads me to believe that it may not be as described. Either way, I am paying for quality work, not therapy. I felt compelled to write this because I appreciate how Greg followed-up with his staff about the experiences and even implemented changes (battery issue).

He replied, when appropriate, with integrity. I know how to twist a wrench and repair things. I have also made my fair share of mistakes in trying to get bargains. I will continue to use Greg's. By the way, I have never met Greg and have no affiliation to the company. I just always feel compelled to call BS when I see it. The internet can be cruel.
