How is this place still in business? Oh yeah that's right, the owner/crook used to be a service writer for Lakeside Toyota. Obviously they get a kickback for sending people to this crook. I brought in my own parts which were all OEM parts from the stealership. It was roughly $1,700 in parts. Greg, the crooked owner charged me an additional almost $2000 to change a timing belt, water pump and valve cover gaskets.

He did a terrible job. He misplaced parts that he insisted were necessary. One being the almost $10 dollar a piece bolts that hold the valve cover on (I believe their are 26 in total) He lost them and stacked up a bunch of washers to replace them. So then I started to question everything that he's done. I brought in ngk iridium spark plugs for him to change and when I pulled one out, I found that he changed them with $1.50 a piece copper Bosch plugs. Oh, and this was a first for me considering I've always done my own tune-ups on my car.

He said that the spark plug wire set from the stealership doesn't come with the one that goes to the ignition coil. Also, he gave me back a box of parts that I gave him to put on and even though this was all just routine maintenance my car has been running terribly ever since I got it back from him. And, it is now leaking oil. Great job, crook.

All other reviews that seem to give him raving reviews are obviously fake. Be warned, never bring you vehicle to this guy! Also never trust a guy with a Jesus fish on his pay-up hand and building!

Initially took my car in for leaking oil, they were easy to schedule with and got me in ASAP. Unfortunately the part that was replaced broke and started leaking again. Kyle had already reached out to me to check on the condition of my car, so it was easy to bring it back in. They replaced the part completely free of charge since the original piece broke. Extremely fast, professional and reliable. Highly recommend

My fiance attempted to get his tires changed here but because he and the owners son were fighting they made him go get his tires changed elsewhere. totally disrespectful in my opinion. i DO NOT recommend this place. such an inconvenience and so immature. they also charge super high prices for work you could go get done elsewhere.

GT Automotive are my go to guys (and gals). Two years ago, when I first went to them right before a big road trip, I told them in my naive youth "charge me whatever you want but I need to make sure this car is safe to drive 1000 miles". They could have made anything up to make a quick buck but when I picked up my car they said all I needed was an oil change.

And that's when I knew. Since then, I take my car to them for everything and I recommend them to everyone I know. They are super friendly, quick, trustworthy, and always get the job done. I won't go anywhere else. Thanks GT :) Editing just to add that GT is still awesome! even three years later!

Garrett was incredibly helpful. Nice and friendly and informative. Even though they couldn't work on my car, because apparently it had been worked on badly befire I bought it. I appreciate it all the information and helpfullness that he showed. Thank you for the help.

Greg the owner is really nice! I called and asked for an oil change and he said come on in. Usually you have to make appointments in advance for this, but he was so kind to let me come right away. They got the job done so fast I was shocked. I'd be coming here regularly for my car if I lived here but I live in Brooklyn. I definitely recommend having this shop as your go to mechanic.

Shady business. Maybe I just had a tech with a bad day, but poor communication. Watch out for a guy named Angel. Don't let him touch your car. The rest of the guys seemed fine. I guess just like in a restaurant it's all about who's cooking that day.

We are relatively new to the area and as anyone knows finding an honest mechanic is not easy. We found our place and it's GT automotive. They do high quality work at very fair prices. One of the things I like the best about GT is that I can do the research and buy the part and they will install it for me. So no worries about having the part price inflated to increase the bill. The only downside is that they are only open Monday through Thursday, but that's a small thing when you are getting honest quality work. I highly recommend GT Automotive!

I have been using GT Automotive for a few years and have found them to be reliable, exceeding good at repairs and very trustworthy. I have gone there a few times expecting to have replace certain parts only to be informed that no, I didn't need to spend all that money on the parts, that it was another (invariably less expense) problem. They are absolutely the best!

It's hard to find an auto mechanic that you can trust to not only fix your vehicle but to be fair and honest on pricing. Above and Beyond Just got my 2002 Toyota Highlander back from GT Automotive. They did everything I asked them to do and then some. Not only did they complete the job in a timely manner but I feel the prices were reasonable for the work performed. Not only that but I got the SUV back looking strangely much better than when I brought it in. I asked Greg if they had cleaned the tires (which I remember still had some spillway mud on them) and he said they had done not only that but had cleaned the rest of the outside too!

What an unexpected and pleasant surprise. So, for all the above reasons, I know where I'll be bringing my vehicle the next time it needs fixing--to the professionals at GT Automotive.

When I moved to New Orleans over a decade ago I didn't know any reliable places to get work done on my car. I am so glad someone suggested GT Automotive to me. I even prefer to take my car to them to get my oil changed rather than those "quick" places because I know that they're not going to try to sell on me on everything under the sun. If they do see something that's a concern, they'll let you know without it feeling like your talking to a pushy salesman. GT is the ONLY place my family and I will bring our vehicles. Greg and the team are personable, professional, honest, and fair.

Used to bring my car there until prices started to get jacked up on me for minuscule things I would have them do (I guess they figured I kept coming back so I had money). Nope, was just being drained from GT Automotive. I scheduled with them to only be rescheduled 3 different times (mind you I live 30 minutes away) and finally I was the one that didn't show up for the third time.

My friend did the work for me that was "very labor intensive" and quoted at $300 in 45 min while I was in one of my classes. These guys are clowns. Also had gauges installed that stopped working shortly after installation. By the way those car wash cards they give for Pelican Point are expired or don't work. lmao gotem.

These guys are awesome. The short version is that they're fast, honest, reliable, and know what they're doing. They get you in, get it fixed, and get you back on the road before you even know what's happening. I should have written this review a year ago when they first pulled my car out of the figurative fire, but I wanted to wait and see how things held up. I'd gone to a different place to get my spark plugs changed and they messed it up horribly. Took it to GT the next day and they replaced all the spark plugs and the burnt out solenoids.

It worked flawlessly. I went back today to get my oil changed. They fixed me up with a synthetic blend for way less than any of the local oil change outlets charge. The only, ONLY thing I wish was different was that I wished they had someone working Saturdays. It's tough to take time getting to the shop on weekdays when my wife and I only have one car. But taking the time to send it to these guys, even if it puts me out of commission on a weekday, is more than worth it.

DO NOT bring your vehicle to this place. I thought that I trusted them with my first repair. I brought in my car for another issue several months later and they broke an important piece of my vehicle. They agreed to fix it at a rate twice the amount of another shop. When I tried to explain that they had already charged me more than other shops for the service itself and broken an important piece on my vehicle - they were misogynistic and duplicitous. They berated me by saying - "We helped you." No, you repaired my car at an elevated rate and then proceeded to verbally chastise me on multiple occasions.

New to town and was trying to find an honest mechanic I could trust. Selected GT Automative because of there many reviews and high rating in stars. Great customer service from the moment I called to when I picked up my car. Never felt I was being ripped off or oversold. I would recommend to anyone!

I had really high hopes for this place. Recommended by Lakeside Toyota (only Toyota car dealership that services vehicles in New Orleans), I was hoping I had finally found a mechanic for my old car. Unfortunately GT is not the place. I had a screw that was loose in my front end. It was causing my entire front end to rattle every time I turned. Loudly.

Like so bad, you hear me coming miles away. Since my car is my office- and it was around the holidays- it was an emergency. They told me that my front end was broken. I had gotten it replaced 6 mths prior. They convinced me that that mechanic never replaced it, so they told me they would do that for me. Also suggested other repairs. It ended up costing me over $2000.

As soon as I drove it off the shop, my brakes stuttered every time I stopped. Immediately drove it back. They told me it was an ABS problem and would cost around $2000 to replace. And since it was an ABS problem and not a brake problem, it wasn't "essential." It sounded like utter bullshit so brought it up to a mechanic in another state I trust.

That mechanic told me that none of the work they did on my vehicle was even necessary. And the brake stuttering? Someone had broke one of my front brake sensors and tried to superglue it back into place. The car wasn't recognizing the faulty thing, so my ABS kept on kicking in. Never again.

The guys at GT automotive are awesome. They always take care of my car and don't try and up sell. I trust their advice fully and they are super reliable.

I read all the great reviews and took my car in a few weeks ago. Battery wasn't charging and I specifically mentioned that I figured it was the alternator. They took a week checking it and said they couldn't find anything wrong. I picked it up Friday for $120 and it wouldn't start Saturday morning. Took it to my old shop uptown, they diagnosed and replaced the alternator and I had it back in two days. Greg and the team are nice guys and I had high hopes, but I should've just stuck to my shop uptown.

Maybe it was an off week, but I won't be bringing any of my vehicles back there. Also, just a heads up, replacing 2 tires is about $50 cheaper at the shop uptown and $20 cheaper at Costco.

Greg and his team are fantastic. There could not be a more honest person then Greg. He stands behind all of his work. I would highly recommend using GT Automotive.

As good as it gets for sure. These guys are true professionals. High quality technicians on staff. Drop by for maintenance and you will see for yourself how cool these guys are. I used a Groupon voucher for a deluxe oil change. I knew going in that their will be some add ons. They told me that I needed a transmission flush. Greg took me in the back to show me the machine and to explain the process and why it's important. I trust them with my car. It's hard to find people to trust, especially when it comes to automotive mechanics. I trust these guys.

I have been taking my car to GT Automotive for years, and will continue for years to come. They are very helpful anytime I need to put my car in the shop for a fix or maintenance or just need an oil change. Oil changes are done quickly, and if any repair work needs to be done they usually only need a day or two to get everything fixed. More often than not they only need one day, especially if I drop it off when they open. Just a tip, it's always better to call ahead and let them know why your bringing your car so they can be better prepared to help when you arrive. Keep up the good work!

Even with major repairs, I have received my vehicle back in a timely manner and repairs were done at a fair price.
