Glenn Lenhard began working in the automotive industry in 1973, shortly after graduating from Olympia High School in Rochester, New York. He has worked at independent automotive repair shops and larger dealers in the Rochester and St. Petersburg Florida regions. In 1979 he opened Bay Imports in St. Petersburg and continued that business until 1991.
Our facility was originally built in 1985 as a space to detail vehicles for sale at the 3445 Car Store. When we moved into the property in 1999, we found a photo of an early MGB sitting in front of the building! You could say that our building has been involved in giving British classics a new lease on life from the start.
At Glenn's, we don't know what will present itself on our doorstep each morning, be it an MGB, Jensen Interceptor or one-off custom-built piece of racing history. That's why we love coming to work every day. Here are some of the exceptional and unique restorations that have inspired our team of experienced craftsmen and mechanics.

Glen and his team are trusted experts. I have an 05 Jaguar XJ8L and I always feel that I am in great hands when I need to bring it in. There is no other place in St. Pete to go if you have an older British vehicle

My beautiful Alfa Romeo had several problems and my previous mechanic sadly, is no longer with us. I knew that Glenn has an sterling reputation and he has been helping Alfa owners a lot. He and his mechanics, particularly James, took care of all the repairs in a very satisfactory manner. They are meticulous and the charges were reasonable. Now, I am planning to return in the near future to address other things that are pending. I recommend them without reservations. J. Cardenas, St. Petersburg, FL

I love these guys gals. I just bought a 75 MGB. I brought it there to be inspected and to get an oil change. They were extremely professional. The checked out great and I've been driving "Maggie Bee" ever since. We set up a follow up appointment for sometime in April. I called them today to let them know I had some concerns about the car and wanted to come in earlier. Bing bang boom, Glenn and Brian set me up to drop off the car on March 10 @ 900. Now if you own an MGB, you would know that a place like this would be extremely busy. Thanks to Glenn and Brian for making my appointment earlier! Shelley Simes. See you /10

Bar none, Glenn's MG Repair and Restore is amazing! When I bought my 54 Sunbeam Alpine, I was told, you gotta contact Glenn's. So glad I did. British cars can be a real challenge, but when you make it a 66 year old car, it makes it "interesting". Other mechanics said, I can check on line for info, but Glenn said, "yeah, we can do it". And, boy of boy, they have!

We did 2 phases for the car.1: make it mechanically sound, so I can drive with full confidence. 2: add the oooh ahh to the car.refinish with new chrome, gorgeous interior additions, engine cleaned for viewing, new top and tonneau cover, etc. Both checked off big time! So if you are looking for an auto mechanic shop that has been there and done that.contact these guys!

After going to three different mechanics Glenn diagnosed my overheating issue in my Land Rover Discovery in minutes. His trained eye, friendly demeanor, and amazing shop are nothing short of five stars. After I told him I was a Land Rover nerd he even brought me to the back where they had a Series II he let me check out. Very honest and personable guy. If you have something British and you want it fixed right, go to Glenn's MG.

Trust I may not like what I always hear but I trust them in this world of ups and downs and let's face it just doesn't feel like you can trust anyone. I've been with Glenn for 20 years maybe more. And I trust them.

I recently relocated my 1965 Griffith 200 from Chicago to the Orlando area. For the past 20 years, I have trusted only one mechanic to service my car. I had the engine and transmission rebuilt prior to my move. Fortunately, when my car arrived in Florida the rear master brake cylinder began leaking. I say fortunately because this issue is what took me to my new service team, Glenn's MG & British Car Repair.

Not only did they make the several repairs/improvements I requested, but they discovered that my fresh new engine was not getting enough oil pressure. Needless to say, starving any engine of oil.much less a fresh rebuild.is a very bad thing. This discovery likely saved me from a major engine failure and thousands of dollars in repairs! As a person who prefers driving over wrenching, I am truly grateful to have found my new pit crew! To Glenn, Gail, James, Cory, Brian and the rest of the amazing team at Glenn's MG.THANK YOU!

Brought my Jag XK8 to him on 10-1-19 for repair estimate because it was running bad. Was told it had multiple problems and what needed to be repaired. Had faith that this would be an honest job since we met at the Jaguar Club meeting. Paid over $1700 and in 3 months its running bad again. I called to ask advice but he said the engine was tired. 8 spark plugs cost $18.45 each = $147.60? Intake hose o ring $55,25.?

I have my 1971 MGB back from Glenn's for 4 weeks now. It had extensive work done, from the engine to the rear axle. I cannot be more pleased with the work that Cory and Glenn have done. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't drive better now than when it was new! Well, maybe almost as good!

I brought my MG in for some interior work after hearing about Glenn's reputation of being one of the best MG mechanics and restoration shop in the country from many people including MG owners all over Florida as well as Jack Kurkowski, former registrar of NAMGAR and a founder of the Hoosier A's in Indiana (pictured in the photos posted with my car).

I was so impressed with the place and after going over the car with Glenn I decided to do some other cosmetic work and some much needed mechanical work. He not only did the work, but the care taken and the above and beyond detail he did in doing the work was fantastic. Glenn, his wife Gail and everyone at his shop were fantastic to work with. I wouldn't take my British car anywhere else. BTW, he had many other foreign cars there too, so I believe he does them all.

I have been taking both my TR6 and Spitfire to Glenn for fine tuning, mechanical, and body repair for years. My experiences have always been positive and with a favorable outcome. All of Glenn's MG and British Car Repair Shop staff is professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. This is a family owned and run business and it shows! Both Glenn and his wife Gail are also members, and socially active, within several local British car clubs in the area. They are respected and are a functional part of our big LBC community. I would recommend their business to anyone.

Glenn's MG repairs has been very helpful in getting both my MG and Triumph on the road and keeping them running. Glenn and his mechanics: James, Cory and Chuck are very helpful and knowledgeable about British cars. The shop always has a large supply of parts at a reasonable cost, And they are always ready with how to hints and free advice when I am working on a project. This is one of the best British Car shops in the country.
