Since 1970, the community has turned to our second generation, family-owned auto repair facility for their complete auto repair needs. We are centrally located in the Herndon, Ashburn, Lansdowne areas. We have a combined 100 years of repair experience in our bays and a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty. We provide Virginia State Inspections, loaner cars, local shuttle service, and free WIFI in our comfortable customer waiting area.
Lights on your instrument panel fall generally into two categories: Critical Warning lights & Service/Informational lights. The lights can be Red or Yellow, and the color will indicate to you the seriousness of the situation. If you see a Red Light, pull over immediately, refer to your owner's manual and address the problem immediately!
Adam Wallace has owned and operated Gill's Automotive in Sterling, VA since 1987. Over the past almost 30 years, he has established a reputation as one of the best auto repair shops in the Northern Virginia area, previously earning the title "Best of Northern Virginia". I have been a satisfied customer of Gil's since around 2016ish, and I even drive out of my way to do business there now, since I live/work farther away. I will continue to drive out of my way to do business with them because they are honest, trustworthy, friendly, and professional. Prices and labor are very reasonable for this area, and they often give coupons as well as loaner cars for longer repairs.
I have owned two different cars since 2016 that have been serviced by Gil's, for both small and major repairs, and I am convinced that it is due to their excellent technicians and care that my last car lasted for 15 years! When it was time to get a new car Adam took time out of his day to give me advice on my next car. Both Barbara and Adam are wonderful and incredibly helpful if ever you have a question about car maintenance. If you need a trustworthy place to bring your car, I can say with 100% certainty that you will be in excellent hands here.

No matter what our problem is with our 2008 Ford Focus, or even if it is a routine oil change, they are kind courteous and accommodating. Excellent knowledge of automobiles and reasonably priced. They do offer loaner cars if needed. They are so very customer service oriented. They have one of the most cleanest mechanic shops I have ever been to. Both my daughter and I are more than pleased with the kind and friendly customer service. We have used Gills for years now and do not plan on going anywhere else. Highly recommend them.

I would start with "Thanks Adam and team"! This was my first visit to the workshop. There was issue with engine light staying on. Gone now. Fixed within reasonable time. As I understand, they also reached out to Nissan as part of their diagnosis process. Glad, Costco chose them as one of the recommended service station. Good luck for the future, Adam!

They were great, ordered my tires and got them installed in just a few days. Gave me a free loaner while they did the install and looked into a problem I was having which turned out to be a recall item. They printed the info I needed for me to easily follow up with the dealership and have it fixed. Highly recommend them, very cordial and honest!

This might be the first time that I went to a car shop and was treated with so much respect and consideration. They were professional, kind, explained everything very clearly, were not pushy, and did the job well at a fair price. I will definitely bring my car back to Gill's in the future. Maybe the search for the "perfect" Car Shop is over!

Gill's is always great. I have been using them for 5+ years now and they are always friendly, prompt, prices are reasonable and they take good care of my car. I never feel taken advantage of and they only recommend what actually needs to be done-they're very trustworthy. They are serious about customer service- I definitely recommend Adam, Barbara and their team to anyone for maintenance or repairs!
