We used Gene's recently to replace the transmission in our relatively low milage Chevy truck (a known issue with our make and year)He was very patient and informative as we asked questions. I feel confident it will work better than factory now Service: Transmission

I contacted Gene and told him of my possible transmission leak. He told me to bring it over to avoid messing anything up. Said he would do what he could to help me out. Arrived at the shop and my truck was taken into the bay within 10 minutes. Gene shared what he found to be the problem, told me it's being repaired and I'd have my vehicle back in a bit.

The cost of the repair was shockingly reasonable and even if it wasn't Gene and his wife were willing to work with me. This man and his team has been a true blessing to me. I am back in my truck with comfort and confidence thanks to Gene'a Transmission.

MIRACLE WORKERS! It was so sad. so very, very sad. For many years I searched to find someone who could fix my 2005 Jeep Rubicon whose Performance Computer Module died. and a replacement was not to be found - not a dealer and not at a Jeep specialty shop. But Genes did it! They brought her back to life and consistently checked in with me the whole way.

They've been in business FOREVER so they have tons of professional knowledge (and sources for PCMs). I always support local businesses - particularly generational ones. Gene's is superior. Ask for Michelle - she is the best!

Wonderful owner. Knows what he is doing. We were coming from NC heading toward Maryland when the car mysteriously stopped working. The owner worked to find out what was wrong. When he realized it wasn't the transmission, he called and found us someone who could fix our issue. This was on a Friday afternoon when no one else would take us. This has to be the nicest, most honest and knowledgeable mechanic we've ever met. I would recommend everyone to use this place

My transmission had went out so I looked up Gene's and they had me out in a couple days. But about 3 months later it went out again due to a faulty fan clutch that a company sent them. They made sure they took my truck back immediately and had me out in a few days free of charge. If you are having transmission problems I 10/10 recommend.

Genes would be my regular transmission and auto shop if I didn't live several states away from Virginia. "Charles" (whom I believe to be the owner) and his wife were a pleasure to deal with along with the other employees I met. I suffered an unfortunate breakdown on I-95. My cars computer went haywire, the transmission was spewing fluid and the car was vibrating frantically. Charles made me feel comfortable that he would see it repaired properly. Communication was great. The price was reasonable. I was very pleased with the service. Thank you Justin H.

You are my new go to auto shop and I will be bringing all three of my vehicles to you from now on. I should have listened to the bad review when I inquired with Charles Roberson (owner of Genes Transmission), I didn't and got taken for a ride. He charged $3200.00 for my cvt transmission, 2 months later transmission went out again, confirming with 2 other transmission shops. I took to it him to fix my car under his 1 year warranty. He yelled and said how do I know you didn't blow it up! Threw my keys off the counter and said he wasn't going to look at my car.

He said he didn't know what he did to my car when he rebuilt it. He did look at my car and took to another shop to tell me it wasn't transmission it was exhaust and was going to charge me $290 to repair. I could go on and on but long story short I've never experienced being ripped off in my life and never experienced any business like him. BAD EXPERIENCE!

So if you value your money don't take it to him. He doesn't know what he's doing and he doesn't mind stealing your hard earned money. I should've ran when he told me 1 thing about transmission and then told me something else the next time I spoke to him. If you value your hard earned money Genes is not the place to go if you want the job done correctly and honestly. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Genes transmission tried charging me 3500.00 to install a 2100.00 transmission then tried to tell me that my 2006 Ford Freestyle was a glorified paperweight then tried to say let them buy it from me. They switched their story so many times it set my head spinning. They sound like con men to me. I do NOT advise going to this shop for any reason! Let the buyer beware these guys will try to take you for everything you're worth. I found a shop willing to do a trade for a much more reasonable price elsewhere.
