Our Master Mechanics are licensed and ASE certified, meaning they are well trained and qualified to perform repairs that others cannot. Jeff has been selected as co-chairman of the Automotive Program's board for Chippewa Valley High School.
Garfield and Canal offers full service brake system, pads, rotor replacement. To determine whether you need new brakes or not, you'll need to look and listen. You can check for wear by looking at your brake pads through the spaces between the wheel's spokes. There should be at least inch of pad pressed against a metal rotor.

Finding a good auto repair shop is a challenge. I have taken my older model car there several times and I'm always satisfied with the work done. I'm also very sensitive to how I'm being spoken to being a female in a male dominated environment. Jeff always explains the work to be done and gives me options.

(HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DONT BRING BUSINESS TO THIS PLACE) The driver that was sent to do the tow had the wench cable hooked up wrong on the car an it aggressively rolled off the flat bed at a way to high of a angle on flat bed damaged my car an our house then also denied that it was there fault an they said to me many times that it's my fault that they couldn't hook up the cable correctly. believe your supposed to hook the little j on the holes that come with the car on the frame from factory or to the control arms. These guys don't know what there doing that's why.

Called my insurance company to have my car towed to get it repaired and was having an awful experience! I waited 1 day 1/2 and 3 towing companies before it was assigned to Garfield and Canal towing services. They gave a time of 90-105 min and showed up with no extended times or delays. The driver was polite and professional. Thank you for your service!

If you want your car fixed and you want great customer service DON'T come here! This so called "mechanic" will take your money and not fix your car That incompetent fool couldn't fix my problem I had with my engine light being on as soon as I got the car back from him the engine light came back on. a complete waste of my time and money if I could rate zero stars I definitely would!
On top of not fixing my car that man has the worst attitude imaginable! How are you giving me, the Paying customer a major attitude because he doesn't know how to fix my car? Make it make sense

Very professional and super speedy service! AAA left me stranded in the Detroit flood of 2021, and Garfield and Canal came and picked me up next day, within 2 hours of me calling, when AAA said it would take 20 hours. Towed my car from Detroit to Clinton Twp for a very reasonable rate, and had repairs done within 2 days. HIGHLY recommend! DO NOT call AAA if they're busy. These guys will take great care of you

Early in the morning we accidentally locked our keys in our car with the engine and air conditioner off with our baby buckled in to her car seat. While we were freaking out I called Garfield & Canal, and were assured they would be to our house quickly. That was an understatement. In less than 10 minutes from hanging up the phone a nice gentleman had our car unlocked and the AC on for our daughter.
The baby never knew anything was wrong. To top it off we weren't even charged. I won't be going anywhere else for service or roadside assistance again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Called at 12:16 on a Saturday. I live 0.9 miles away from tow company, I live 0.5 miles away from tow destination. called and said ok 1.5-2 hr. I called back after 2 h 20 min 2:39pm and they are apologizing and saying a lot of accidents in the area they say 45 more mins. 2hrs later it is now 4:12 and I call back to them say the driver is 10 mins out on his way.
I would of been on hearing ok we will get your car in 4h. but to string me along and through out the day, I will be choosing another company. i did not ask, they did not offer any discount for my situation.unless I receive a significant discount for my last transaction or potentially upcoming tow I'm really happy to go somewhere else.

The dishonest service manager at this shop will really screw you over if you let him. He'll lie to you and say something needs to be replaced when it's really perfectly fine. I'm a mechanic myself and he still tried this on me. I'm sure he does the same thing to every other customer. But since I've been a mechanic for nearly my entire life I was able to call him out on his lies.
He didn't know what to do at that point, so he just refused to finish the job and won't refund the money that they were paid. Pretty much strong armed robbery if you ask me. Jeff, Thanks for showing me who NOT to bring my vehicles to for repair. I hope more people become aware of the con artist you are. I'm sure you'll screw over the wrong person and learn the hard way eventually. What goes around comes around buddy.
