As a third-generation in this industry, Matt has been around cars and automotive repair all of his life. He has always taken on the mindset that if you provide the customer excellent work, at a reasonable price, in a time frame that meets their needs, you will be successful. Matt has a business degree in Management and Organizations from The University of Iowa as well as a degree in Automotive Technology.

They sold me an old refurbished battery as brand new which has died twice one month a few months after purchase. after it died the first time they told me there was nothing wrong with the battery- they do not warranty their products - but offered to charge me a lot more money to figure out what is wrong with my car.

My car broke down while I was visiting Chicago and 6 hours away from my home. Matt and his crew repaired my alternator and battery. My car drove back to my home without putting me in any danger. I went to the garage for a flat tire repair (screw puncture) and found them to be prompt and professional. However, later that evening, I saw my low tire pressure warning come on once again. Upon inspecting my tire, I found not only a shoddy repair job to the puncture (poorly applied string plug, rather than a cemented rubber plug), but also a lug nut that was barely on the threads (you can see how far it's sticking out relative to the other lugs). I didn't even bother bringing it back for them to correct the puncture given how careless this was.

This is the first time I have ever experienced auto-repair that I am confident is honest. Matt is a good guy. I have taken three different makes/models to him over the years. I never need to worry about the quality of their work or the prices. They are extremely flexible about finding time to work a car into their schedule too. Skip the dealer BS and bring your car here!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Matt Tefke is an absolute angel. After receiving the diagnostics and very pricey estimate from another auto shop for a failed transmission, I decided to get a second opinion. After hearing how knowledgeable and informative Matt was over the phone I immediately had my car towed to him for a second look. Thank goodness I trusted the right guy this time, because it turns out my car was in fact under warranty, something the initial auto shop denied and that the issue was not the transmission but the powertrain!
He essentially saved me thousands of dollars! If you are having car troubles, do not walk, RUN to Matt Tefke at Fulton- Desplaines Garage. Honest and professional! I cannot thank them enough.
