The Foreign Aid is a locally owned and operated automotive repair facility. We have been specializing in European auto repair in the Grand Valley in the same location since 1989. We realize that the technology of the automobile changes almost daily, and so we use the latest computer diagnostic equipment and our technicians attend continuing education classes in automobile diagnosis and repair.

We pride ourselves on using the highest quality original manufacturer parts in our repairs and services. Over 50 years of experience in the industry and the latest technology in diagnostic equipment combines to make the repair of your vehicle as quick and painless as possible.
Services
The Foreign Aid offers full scheduled maintenance per factory recommendations, but please keep in mind that for the longevity of your vehicle we have found that some of the factory recommended intervals are entirely too long, for instance "lifetime fluids" such as transmission fluid and coolant still need to be replaced periodically due to contamination.
At The Foreign Aid we've always put a priority on having the best equipment in Western Colorado for servicing your fine European Automobile. We took that a step farther in 2015 by acquiring an Autologic diagnostic system for BMW and Mini Cooper cars. Autologic allows for faster, more accurate, more holistic service of your car.
Looking for the best BMW service in Grand Junction? No wonder. If you're a BMW owner you've got a stake in a proud heritage. In fact, we're almost at the 100th anniversary of BMW (which stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke, or Bavarian Motor Works for the English rendition). BMW started out as a producer of aircraft engines, then motorcycles, and only after about 12 years did it begin producing automobiles successfully.
One of the most respected auto marques in the annals of motoring, Mini Coopers have come a long way from their beginnings as the vision of Sir Alexander Arnold Constantine Issigonis, a Greek-British car designer whose ground breaking design of the Mini would earn him the enduring legacy of the automotive world.

Coming into the shop the owner was dealing with a difficult customer who didn't understand an issue with a car that the customer had personally been working on. The owner spent several minutes advising the customer on how to replace a part on his car without damaging it. He was clear with his intent to help his customer. The owner is old school, direct and wants to provide the best quality service possible.

I personally own a roofing company and he gave me great advise on a part of my customer service that I was just not doing effectively. I appreciate the lesson he had given me and I suggest his services if your looking for a high quality repair. He does a thorough job of inspecting the vehicles that enter his shop and providing resolutions to his customers dilemmas from what I had seen.

We were in Grand Junction for only a short period of time and needed to get the oil changed in our Sprinter van. Foreign Aid managed to squeeze us in, had the right oil and filters in stock (other shops in town did not), they were cheaper than other places, and even gave us a loaner car! Would recommend - they are nice, honest folks. Thank you!

Honestly could not recommend Foreign Aid at all. After 6 weeks, I still didn't have a definite idea of what was wrong with it. At the 6 week mark, I just took the car, (with a trunk full of parts that had not been replaced, and no clear idea of what was wrong with the car.) Every time I would contact them, I'd hear a rant about how manufacturers shouldn't tell people to go 10,000 miles on an oil change. (This had NOTHING to do with the needed repairs, and I have my automobiles serviced regularly.) Or a tirade about not being staffed. So disappointing. The one bright spot was Betsy, the office manager, who tried to make this work. Would never recommend.

Incredibly rude. Politely asked if the owner could help with a stuck trunk and he not only would not help because "it was a rental, " but also swore at my friend and I because we were "from California" (we're actually from the East Coast). Ultimately telling us to "get the f$$$ off my property." We left feeling very uncomfortable. Please avoid at all costs.

I'm not sure who the person these previous reviews are describing, but it was certainly not the man my friend and I just encountered. The owner was rude, short and refused to even take a LOOK at our car, stating that he is "backed up 3 weeks out". We had a simple issue with our trunk that could've only taken a few minutes to solve. We would highly advise you take your business elsewhere.

CUSTOMER'S BEWARE Quotes are inaccurate and always charged more and hidden costs added in. Honestly they are as big a Rip Off as Alpine Autohaus! Will take our BMW to Denver or Salt Lake and never use either again. After my Review I was called by owner and Harrassed for my review. Our 1st dealing with him he quoted 250.00 to repair Seat Belt Issue and when finished we received a 650.00 bill as he charged 400.00 extra to reset the Computer which Steve Never disclosed or even bothered to call and say he needed to do such.

This last incident he parked car over a sheet of ice and when his 2 employees tried to help us get car so we could load it, He Told his employees to "Get the F of his lot"! And it was up to us to get car off his parking lot that was a sheet of Ice! Known him since the 80's and this is how he Treats returning Friends/Customers!

Steve was awesome. My Land Rover was overheating outside Green River UT, so we had it towed to another shop in Grand Junction and the keys were dropped in the After-Hours Box. The next morning, I found out that the shop my vehicle was towed to was out of business and the key was locked in the building. I live a couple of hours from Grand Junction, so I was struggling to get the keys and get my vehicle to another repair shop.

I called Steve and he was able to get the key from the out of business shop and get my vehicle to his shop where he repaired it, all within a couple of days. It saved me from having to make extra trips to Grand Junction and took all the stress away of trying to figure out what to do. The vehicle is running great. Thanks Steve for going the extra mile!

I brought in my 2004 BMW 325cic (manual) initially for an oil change and quickly learned that my clutch was on its last legs and needed to be replaced. The Foreign Aid Team helped me get in and out in no time, and the car has been running great ever since! Steve is a great guy and took the time to show me what had happened to the transmission and showed that he clearly knew his stuff. Betsy was very kind and made the whole process very smooth. Overall, I had a great experience and I couldn't have chosen a better place to bring my car! You can tell the entire team has an deep appreciation of foreign cars and knows them inside and out.

A little while back I had some issues with my Mercedes. Steve went out of his way to fit me into his schedule immediately and went to every length that he could to possibly help me. He even made me a burger when it was lunch time! In the end Steve wasn't able to help me with the problems I was having with my particular vehicle, (Sprinter) but if your vehicle is one that he can work on I highly recommend him. Thanks Steve!
