The place is clean, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. I went there for a smog test, they did a thorough inspection, found where the leak was, fixed it and I was out in no time and on my way to renew my registration. Services: Air conditioning, Exhaust, Smog certification

I purchased a used Toyota Highlander from a Subaru's dealership in Kearney Mesa. The transaction was pleasant at first. The front bumper started to pop out about 2 months after. I knew the car previously had a minor collision and they had to fix the front bumper. I thought it was fixed completely and legitimately. I was wrong. The dealership even told us to contact them within 90 days if I run into any issues.

I called them and they were giving me the run around for a couple of months and then pointed the blame towards not coming any sooner and that the warranty was on for electrical comments. Needless to say I did not return to them due to their horrible customer service. My husband did his research and locate this place for me to bring the car in for both an oil change and to see if they can help us with the sensors/bumper issues. Made an appt. and they were able to service my car as scheduled.

They helped me look at the bumper and explained the situation. Long story short, the issue has to be fixed at Toyota directly. They tried to fix the bumper but the alignment was off due to the crappy job done by Subaru's place or wherever they had it fixed last. I really appreciate that they try to help me the best that they can. After the oil change, they went through and explained everything clearly to me regarding the service and their recommendations along with the costs. David scheduled me and Jorge was the one that helped me.

I don't know much about car maintenance but they were able to explained things in a way that I made it easy for me understand. Service was quick and pleasant. I highly recommend this place : and I definitely will return for other services.

After having an AWFUL experience at another shop that I had used for years, I heard about EAT. They are friendly, very knowledgeable and they do great work. Frank and Dave at the front are both good guys as well.

Great local service provider. Owner is knowledgable and doesn't pressure you for add'l services. The explained exactly what they found and how to extend the useful life of my car. In fact. I took both my cars there for major tuneups and felt that they did a great job.

I ran over something small on the freeway, which resulted in damage to a part under my fender. I wouldn't normally bother to review an auto repair shop but am doing so because I'm impressed by the owner's speed of service, accommodation of my needs, and most of all his honesty. He fixed my car in one day, picked me up from my workplace, and didn't try to upsell or overcharge me. He even applied a discount of which I'd been unaware. I'll definitely patronize this business again if I have need for repairs.

So far so good. George and the crew are reliable. They don't try to upsell and save you money when possible. Definitely would recommend.

Friendly, professional, fast - more interested in making a long time customer over a quick buck. I'd definitely be back. Reasonable and open book.

These guys kept my old beater running for so long and all the work they did was exceptional and reasonably priced. My only complaint might be that they were busy recently when I was trying to get an appointment but still definitely 5* establishment and I'm glad they are doing well in these challenging times.

Good experience thus far. Today was only second time receiving service. Looking for a shop I will stick with for a lot of years and I hope this is the one.

I like Escondido Auto Tech. They fix my chevy Tahoe very good. My light on the engine was on. They run test and know that it is bad sensor on my exhaust. They replace sensor and now the light go away. The price are good and people are honest. If I have more problems. I will bring to fix.

Referred to them by AAA for a smog test. Made an apt, in and out! Business is clean and has a comfortable waiting area. George is amazing and very helpful! He reminded me that AAA takes cash or check. Saved me an extra trip!

Escondido Auto Tech was awesome. They were able to take my car in last minute and checked out what I needed. I went in for an oil change and to get my brakes checked. He offered that I take my car into the dealership since it was still under warranty so I could save money. I'm happy to give my business to them and will continue to do so in the future. Glad to have found a trustworthy place!

They are helpful and will tell you what's up. I always feel better when there is a business that tells you about services you may need and which ones you have more time to wait. I like that they are not pushy and just do the job you ask for. I will be back.

These folks put me at ease on my first visit. My anxiety be pretty high at car places so this is a proud feat. They communicated in detail so I felt informed about my car's condition. Will absolutely be back.

My daughters 2014 Ford Fiesta broke down on her this weekend and I noticed the alternator belt had snapped. Based on Yelp reviews I had it towed to Escondido Auto Tech. The reviews held up. Even though the car got there late in the afternoon (waiting 5 hours for the tow company), Frank and the team at Auto Tech got the job completed by the end of the day.

Even more impressive is their work ethic. When I picked up the car the amount due was MUCH less than the quote. Frank said he got a break on the price of the belt and passed that along to me, the customer! OUTSTANDING and HONEST! When I showed amazement, Frank said "that's how we've been doing business for over (30?) years and I'm not about to change it now." I would without hesitation recommend Frank and the folks at Escondido Auto Tech for any vehicle maintenance needs. Great service, great results, great people!

Friendly, professional, fast service. Needed a SMOG check at a STAR Certified station and picked E.A.T. based on Yelp reviews. I called & we made an appointment the same week. They had me in & out within the promised time and even applied a $10 coupon without my asking. Will definitely come back for all future SMOG checks & any other work that may be needed down the road. I came out of my Yelp review-writing hiatus to give them a well-deserved 5 Stars. Highly recommend!

Still here but so far things seem fine. My free AAA summer check up found a few items that needed attention. Kind of expected something to be found. Ive been scammed in the past, ( or i should say they tried to scam me while living in new york). Hoping the nice people I'm meeting in California are kind and trustworthy. So far so good. Im planning to come back here.

My car got towed via aaa bc of a flat tire and Frank was very helpful even though they don't do tires. He's very honest and polite. I would rather pay them to do my next car service over bmw. Highly recommend!

My car would not start and I had gotten a quote from a different mechanic that seamed unreasonable. I called Escondido Auto Tech and George was so eager to help me. I told him I already had another quote and he worked hard to give me better deals. He was so nice and honest I would definitely recommend this place!

They have made electrical diagnoses when I was out of town and on the road which helped me get back home. They have also made a job site ignition repair on my truck. I first met Jim the owner as a teenager in the 80s when he was managing a tire business. He is an icon in this business and had a great team. I've come here before for several repairs and oil changes-- can't believe I haven't left a review yet! Not only are they prompt, communicative, and professional, but their prices are fair and their work is outstanding. Today I wanted to stop and say thank you for particularly thoughtful service. I had brought my car to a dealership for a factory recall issue, and while I was there, they insisted I needed to pay $400 to replace a cracked upper radiator hose.

Not only had I not seen any sign of that issue, but that quote would be reasonable for replacing ALL the hoses in my car. I called Escondido Auto Tech, and they were able to fit me into their schedule. I explained the problem, and no more than 5 minutes later, the mechanic was back to tell me: no hose replacements needed, though they were showing mild signs of age and could use replacements eventually.

He was baffled at the dealership recommendation and sent me on my way-- not even charging me for his time. Big thanks to Escondido Auto Tech. Makes such a difference to know you have a mechanic you can trust.
