In 1978, Ernie Bleil, a retired Whitehall Police Officer, revamped a former gas station and opened Ernie's Brake Service. Ernie, who was dedicated and determined to provide good, honest, personalized automotive repair service, started the business with his son Bill by his side. As the business began to grow, so did the size of the shop.

We are a full service automotive repair facility for all makes & models (both foreign & domestic) automobiles, vans and light trucks. We also offer fleet service. Our shop is over 45,000 square feet and we are able to handle all of our customers' repair needs under one roof. The importance of keeping fleet vehicles working properly is imperative for a company's bottom line. We understand this, and we do our utmost to make certain that the necessary repairs are made with as little down time as possible.

One of the best ways to keep your vehicle running and in tip top shape, as well as keeping your money in your pocket, is to do routine maintenance. Check fluid level with engine running and transmission in park. If low, add the type of automatic transmission fluid specified in the owner's manual and/or on dipstick.

Amazing service! Was able to be squeezed in early in the morning for an inspection. Showed my video of the noise coming from my vehicle. Mechanic checked twice and nothing that was immediate problems or any at all. He could've been dishonest and gave me an imaginary issue with my vehicle, and taken advantage of specially with the video I showed. But I wasn't and I also wasn't charged for the inspection either! It's very rare nowadays to find a HONEST, trustworthy repair shop. Thank you men for all that you do!

I took my 1973 Mach 1 to Ernies. What started as a blown head gasket turned into a new engine and headers. While it was there we sent my Fmx transmission to his specialist. Bill, the owner, worked on it himself in between his normal customers needs. It was a big job ND he did gret! My baby is back and better than ever. I plan on taking my autos there in the future

We were on a family vacation and on our way home when the alternator decided it was going to go out. Luckily we were close to our hotel when this happened. The next morning I started calling several places hoping to find someone to fix this and get us back in the road. The owner of the shop said to come right in and he would do whatever he could to get us back on the road. I cannot thank the owner for his ability to get us in without an appointment and able to get back home. If you are in the Columbus Ohio area this is the place to go.

Too expensive, I don't think the mechanic price labor according to other mechanic prices, It seems that he prices according to how hard it's goin to be for him. Especially if he hasn't worked on your car type often. I have a friend who is currently utilizing these services. And almost everyday something else is wrong with the car since she got it back. I don't know if it there fault I just don't think they are really fixing her car. And I don't think they know exactly what is wrong with it. Be careful

I've been coming here for years. It was recommended to me by some who has came for years as well. In fact, her dad started coming here when Ernie was the owner. It's now owned by his son Bill. I have never felt him being dishonest with me and the prices are exceptional for honest work. Bill will go out of his way to save you money while other mechanics will just start replacing parts that don't need it. I'll continue to use Ernies automotive for many years to come.

I have not been in this place of business for years now. I will say this about this establishment. Owner is the most honest man I have ever dealt with in his business I would highly recommend Ernies. Truly this place is built from Refferal great work and won't over charge or play games if your vehicle doesn't need it he won't say it does. Thank you Ernies for always being up front and honest company. Wish there where many more like you.
