I will never go back here! One of the mechanics failed to place a pivotil piece on my front tire after taking my tires off. Thankfully my husband and I purchased my daughter a brand new car the same day otherwise it would have been her driving this car back to school. After driving the car for about 10 minutes we heard a strange noise and pulled over.

We didn't see anything so we started driving again and heard the noise again. At this time my husband got out to see if he could see anything. He screamed for me to stop because my front tire was literally about to fall off. We called Elkins right away and of course they were closed. My husband proceeded to change the tire and saw there was nothing holding the tire in place.

We had to get the car towed back to Elkins and wait until the next morning. When my husband called to explain why the car was back at their shop, the manager stated that they KNEW the piece was missing and it was neglect on their part. EXCUSE ME- WHATTT?! I AM COMPLETELY DONE! Never again! Thankfully we didn't get on the freeway or else who knows what kind of condition we would be in. There should definitely be an option for zero stars!

Went there a couple years ago for an inspection, and had no issues. To be fair, there's little to be bragged upon for being able to complete a "pass/fail" inspection. A year ago we contacted them about getting a quote for some routine maintenance on one of our vehicles, was told to email them with details about what we want. Emailed them, and never received a response back.

Ball dropped on a run of the mill routine 100k maintenance bundle. Now i've contacted them recently about having a leak down test performed on a vehicle. They first told me they were booked out for weeks and to call back in a week. I found nothing odd about this, as this sounds like a particularly relevant possibility. I called back the second time and was told they wouldn't simply perform said test without first beginning with a standard diagnostic at $119/hr.

Although a bit on the higher end of hourly rate, i found nothing wrong with that either, and asked if I could book an appt. Was told again, they were still overloaded and to call back in a week. Called back today (third call) and spoke with self identified service manager, and explained I wanted to have a diagnostic test performed. After a couple questions from him, he said he was familiar with my situation as he spoke with the last person about it after my second phone call.

I was then asked if I had taken the vehicle to any other shop before!? It may just be me, but this was literally one of the dumbest questions i've ever been asked, as unless the vehicle is fresh off the factory floor with zero miles then of course it's been to another shop. After answering that I had it serviced at different shops previously, i was told that this isn't something they would really bother getting into!

I asked no further questions, as I'm not begging any business to take my money for services performed. I will point out, that after this conversation i looked on their website to ensure that they advertised being a full service shop, and sure enough they advertise what I would decree to be everything from one bumper to the other. However it would seem that at best, they are a glorified inspection station, as performing anything beyond mindless "lego" type parts replacement is beyond their ability or at least want.

After reading some of the reviews online, i see that at best they seem to have a recurring theme in their negative reviews, and at worst have real problems. This is especially apparent in the responses they have for the negative reviews, where they seem to almost verbally attack the commenter for having a negative view of them. I for one would rate them no stars if I could on horrible communication, and lack of professionalism. Good luck to them, but no thanks on my part.

The most trustworthy folks you can work with for your automotive issues. Eric and Michael are both straight shooters, people I depend on for an accurate and honest diagnosis on our vehicles.

I took my car in for a alignment. What a difference that made. I noticed immediately, when making right turns. The owner and management team, has integrity.

I had brought my Subaru directly to the dealership for some issues and left with more. They had me bring it back since car was basically stalling upon acceleration and said they could not find an issue. Brought it to Elkins and Michael the manager was wonderful. He was honest that without an error code, it was going to take some time. In 24 hours he had called me 3 times to ask several questions and tell me what they felt it was.

Upon removing parts, they found parts used by Subaru were not the ones recommended and had basically started to corrode sooner than they should and that was causing the misfiring. I cannot say enough about the communication, support and professionalism. I will go back for sure.

My car broke down for the first time and i'm in college so it was a very difficult process getting ahold of AAA and figuring it all out. Once it got to Elkins it was amazing. It only took 2 days to finish and the car runs amazing now. Thank you guys so much! Service: General repairs & maintenance

Took my work van in just for a ticking sound. Although van was ticking my van still drove perfectly with no other issues. The owner stated that replacing the lifters in the engine will solve the ticking sound. This company replaced the lifters and caused caused the engine to lock up. Owner said he will now have to replace the entire engine due to now locked up. Charged me $4000 to replace the engine.

After he replaced engine he told me that now the van is stalling and will not pick up speed normally. He then blamed it on the catalytic converters. I took van to another mechanic and had converters changed and the van still does the same thing no change. The new mechanic as well as Ford dealership diagnosed issue is that it is something wrong with the engine install that was done.

They advised me to return van to the person that installed engine. I returned van to Elkins and owner said that the issue is the muffler. Muffler? Ridiculous. On top of that he cut my brand new catalytic converters that were welded in and did not weld them back. This company is unreliable and incompetent. They had my van since June and made it worse than it was when i brought it to his shop, Worst mechanic ever
