I used to think these guys were good mechanics. Until a couple years later I started having to get the parts that they installed replaced by better shops. When I took my Subaru to the dealership for a serious unknown engine problem, they helped me find out that these guys had put an AFTERMARKET TIMING BELT in my car. No wonder they're so cheap. But a timing belt? Really?

Its a 50$ piece of rubber. Buy the OEM so the repair actually makes sense. I also let them install a new clutch kit on my vehicle and that is already showing signs of wearing out after less that 40k miles later. There were other instances where parts that they installed broke days after the job had been done. They fixed those issues for no additional charge but had they been ordering proper quality parts then it would have never happened. I hate that I had been using them so long for so many repairs. Who knows what else I'll have to get redone next. Local isn't always better sadly.

I had East Carolina replace a rear bearing on my Toyota Tundra. Shortly after I got the truck back my brakes started giving me an issue. I was having to press the brake pedal almost all the way to the floor to stop. The truck is a 03 so I figured it was about time to have them looked at. I procrastinated and finally took the truck to Firestone where they informed me I had a faulty seal associated with bearing I just had replaced. Fluid was dripping down onto my brake pads causing them slip instead of grab the rotor.

So I contacted East Carolina. One month after the warranty expired. They agreed that the seal was "defective" but I would have to pay for the labor since I was ONE MONTH over the one year warranty they offered. Like $400. Everyone knows they are sending those "defective" parts back and getting new ones for free. So they're still making money at the end of the day and I'm paying for their labor once again.

I'm a small business owner and I would have, without hesitation, made the situation right. One month wouldn't stand in the way of keeping a customer, much less get a terrible review. Needlessly to say I'm finding another mechanic. Oh and btw.make sure to check your lugnuts after you get your vehicle back. Every one of mine were hand loose and one was cross threading resulting in a post coming off when I had to deal with a flat tire.

It seems to take a good bit of time to fix my vehicle there what should be a day or two sometimes would take a week or more

I have gone to Eastern Carolina Automotive multiple times now with my Subaru, my son's Mazda and my other son's Jeep. We have had oil changes, diagnostic work, and repairs done. Each time we have worked with Chris Roach, and each time it has been a 10/10 experience for my sons and I! Chris is very knowledgeable and seems to genuinely care about his customers. He always goes above and beyond to ensure that we are happy with the services rendered! I highly recommend East Carolina Automotive for all of your automotive needs!

They were reasonable with pricing and had quick turnaround. I normally go to the same mechanic but he was backed up for a month and several other places were way overpriced which showed in their reviews. These guys were able to get me in the next day and within 48 hours of me calling them the work was finished. I had both of my front wheel bearings replaced. Looks like I have a new mechanic shop.

I had the pleasure working with Allen. He is wonderful! I only drive older cars and am happy to have found this place. I had my cats replaced and he had my jeep ready the next day. This tells me this shop has a great working relationship with part shops. Fair price, great communication, excellent service. You are in efficient and capable hands when you drop your vehicle. 10 stars!

I was very pleased with the service. They had wifi and a nice clean waiting area. I was greeted with a smile and a joke as soon as I walked in the door. They were very proficient and thorough. The mechanic did not stop working on my vehicle until the job was done 100% right. The owner made sure I knew what was going on as they accomplished each task while I waited.

I was very pleased. Very nice staff and place. Would recommend to anyone. Even though the guy spent a couple hours on my car (not his doing, the alignment was messed up) but the price was surprisingly very reasonable!
