Where to begin. oh yes, Lou and his amazing team have save me and my partner over $12k in the past year. Lou has integrity and his knowledge in the industry is excellent. I know that my car is in great hands when I bring it to E&J for any service. Lou is able and ready to answer and explain in detail what the service and cost entail with no hidden costs. I can't thank Lou enough for his honesty and integrity when trying to help you even if it's not doing the sale through his business. Lou and team, you guys are the best!

Not going back! They Do not appreciate smart people that do research and call out their old school scheme of making you pay and go back, get another issue (that the car didn't have until it was in their possession) and then go back again. Quality work so far but not a peace of mind. And as another person here mentioned - I got severe scratches on my mint, recently buffed car and they didn't assume responsibility. PAY MORE - GO TO THE DEALER! I SAVED $650, $250 OF WHICH NOW I HAVE TO SPEND REPAINTING THE BUMPER! RUDE AF!

Luth took care of cars problems quickly and on budget. They are very knowledgeable and recommend starting with the inexpensive and quick fix and don't try to upsell you. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back for any future work needed.

E&J has been taking care of my 2005 Honda Civic since it was brand new. They are knowledgeable and honest. I trust them 100%. The same owner, the same manager, the same head mechanic, for the past 16 years. If the owner Lou does not answer the phone, the manager JT does. I cannot say enough good things about these guys.

I've never done a review for anything and I'm not even out of their parking lot and I felt the need to write this. They have done work on my Range Rover and Mercedes. Great guys who know what they are doing. A+ service go see for yourself!

These guys are the BEST! I have never had a problem with them. I used to go to dealerships but why? Dealers do the work but are constantly trying to upsell you more. E & J does what needs to be done in a very timely manner, with more than fair pricing and are extremely helpful and courteous. Really great guys to work with! I will return and tell anybody I know that this it the "place" to take your car.

The best testament to my loyalty to E&J are the friends and neighbors I send to Lou & JT. I have been servicing all my vehicles here for many years. On my most recent visit I needed to be directed to a GM dealership for specific service. Having a history of bad experiences with dealer service I was skeptical where to turn. Lou set me up with a GM dealer service adviser who took excellent care. Its this level of customer service and care you cant readily find today. Going above the call in this situation is one example of why I am loyal to E&J.

Lou and the crew are true professionals! I have had nothing but great a experience at E&J. My husband and I have both our cars serviced here and I love that I have a local place to go to that I can trust. They do great work, an honest job and very expediently all at a fair price. Thanks E&J!

Honest guys, great work. Never had an issue and never feel like they are trying to pull one over on me. Had an issue with my car right after they fixed some other stuff and they were quick to come get it from my house and fix it promptly without question. Was happy to find them when there are so many shady mechanics out there.

I found E & J when my Mini was rear-ended by a very newly licensed driver whose parents didn't want to work through insurance. My employer highly recommended the shop, which told me all I need to know; she's been a happy patron for years. I was concerned that bypassing insurance would be off-putting to a body shop; it's just trickier working with individuals & their personalities (and expectations), sometimes, than following routine insurance procedure.

But they were both reassuring to me and very accommodating to the parents footing the bill. The work was done well within the estimate, was done in a timely manner, and was done beautifully. I was kept abreast of progress along the way, and the customer service was exemplary from beginning to end. Naturally, when my daughter's car was hit-also by a new driver whose parents wanted to bypass insurance -we went right back to E & J. Again, an absolutely outstanding experience.

She has hit-and-run damage to the other side of the car that will be addressed next-and we know it will be done perfectly. I don't typically write reviews, but car repairs and maintenance are tricky because they involve things about which I, at least, know nothing, and it's important to find someone you can really trust. I've never quite found someone I trust implicitly with *every* aspect of auto care. Now I have. I can't recommend this shop highly enough.

I have been visiting Lou and the gang at E&J for at least 20 years. They have always been high quality, reasonable, and always on time. I started when my car went out of warranty and 2 cars later I keep coming back. Services: Battery, Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change, General repairs & maintenance, A/C installation & repair

Came here to see if they could check the coolant levels on my VW Atlas after getting an error that it was too low. The dealership couldn't get me in for a few days and suggested not driving my car until then. E&J took a look right away and added enough coolant to get me through to my appointment. Super helpful staff and convenient location if you're in the North Center/Lincoln Square area. Will definitely be coming back for regular maintenance.

Based on a reco from a friend (thank you Tom!) I went to E&J Foreign Cars for a service and tailgate problems on my old, but much loved Mercedes SUV. Lou & JT took great care of my car, communicated with me regularly and fixed it up fast. I have done my homework and from experience know the market value for the cost of repairs on my vehicle. They guys at E&J proved to be honest, fair and trustworthy. I am so happy to have found a reputable place for service - thanks guys!

Getting your "baby" serviced for the first time, outside of a dealership can be scarey.bc who do you take her to? The options are plentiful. That's why I am glad to have found this place. They were upfront with the estimate, expectations, knowledgeable in maintenance care that needed to be done vs. recommendations from manufacturers/ dealers.

I had my rear brakes, wheels rotated and wippers replaced.all for a decent price. Even though its 30 mins from where I live. EJ will be my baby's repair shop. Thanks again for the great service

I am a first time patron of E and J and have to give Lou and JT the highest marks. Great customer service, attentive, honest, professional and incredibly thorough. I will definitely be back!

I've had German cars for over 40 years and in four different states, and I have been blessed with some exceptional private shops to work on them.but these guys are the absolute best by a very large margin. From the first intro call: fair, professional, friendly, honest, and exceptional at their craft. They work hard to find the best option for you and actively seek to save you money and solve your problem.

I came to them with multiple issues on my 2008/168k mile GL450.and they were amazing at fixing the problem with high value solutions. Quick too. Found the problem, called me to discuss, and fixed it.all within eight hours. I've had VWs, Audi's, BMWs, and Mercedes' from northern Indiana to St. Louis, Louisville, Evansville and Chicago--and nobody has been better than E&J. I can't recommend them highly enough.

In short, E & J and Lou are now on my contact list for whenever I need a repair for my ML or BMW. Just returned with my Mercedes after E & J tossed on a trans pan which saved me approximately $600 bucks short of what my dealership wanted to charge me. I had plans to throw on these parts myself and when I discovered there would be a couple difficulties in attempting this as a DIY job I found E & J on Yelp and he not only agreed to do the job but, was able to do the job with my parts.

These guys did everything right including airing up my tires and reminding me my registration sticker was to expire, what shop does that for their customers today. Like I said I will be back, and a big shout out to Yelp because I want to support businesses like this one because they know what it means to earn a customer' loyalty.

Let me preface this review by saying that I have a car that perhaps no one in their right mind should own as a daily driver: a 1994 Mercedes E320 Cabriolet. In fact, this is my second. And they've reliably hauled me from Chicago to Florida and Wisconsin and back several times, without a problem--often at speeds far exceeding the recommended limit (these old W124s seem to like 80 mph).

And the reason for this is E&J, and Lou, Mike, JT and their great team. I'd say they treat my car like they'd treat their own, but it's actually better than that. They treat my car like it's the car of an old friend. No BS. No up-sell. Just great work at a good price. Thanks for keeping me on the road guys. More years to come, for all of us!

Brought my car here for a thermostat issue, brakes, alternator and other general maintenance (oil, filters, etc.) Service was quick and cost was reasonable, but when I got my car back there was significant scratching on both of the front right quarter panels. If you claim to be an import shop, at least have the courtesy to put protective covers over my quarter panels.

Will not return because when I am paying $3,000 for service on my $100,000 car I expect the attention to detail to be there. Decent if you have an import that's a little rough around the edges.

Great experience with Lou and his team at E&J. They saved me a lot of money that I would have blown at the dealership and fixed my car quickly and efficiently. Even went out of the way to research and locate used navigation system for my Tiguan that saved me well over 1,600. I highly recommend them for all Volkswagen needs.

I have never found a more reliable and trustworthy car place in my life. I have a 2005 Jaguar S Type. I had been taking it to the dealer until the last two years, when I discovered E & J. My red light went off in the car. Being pro-active, I took to Howard Orloff who informed me it would cost $15,000.00 just to take the engine apart to find out the cause.

I took it to E & J, who checked it out, and said they could find nothing wrong with the car. Two years later, the light never came on again, and I have had no problems with the car. Recently, I took to E & J for an oil change. The trunk was no longer able to open without using the key. They repaired it, and now I can open the trunk again without using the key. Howard Orloff told me I needed a new motor. My car runs like a brand new car. Mint condition. I would highly recommend them. Incredible!

Lou and the guys are pure professionals, I knew it when I walked in and saw a late model Porsche 911 with the entire drivetrain pulled. I brought them my soon to be classic 1991 BMW 850i to have a few electrical issues taken care of. Now that we straightened out all the bugs, it's time to start working on performance upgrades. We have a very old BMW x5. With 14 years and less than 100k miles on it, it's still going - but not going as strongly as it used to. At least once every 6 months we bring it in to E&J for an issue. And every time, it leaves the place repaired and working well again. The team here is great. They're always polite, always friendly, have offered to come jump the car when it doesn't start, clean up the car while it's getting fixed, and generally do a great job.

Old fashion customer service with excellent technical capabilities! I brought in my Mercedes E550 to repair a broken front strut. This is not an easy part to find so my broken strut was shipped to Florida for repair. These guys kept my car for 3 days and didn't charge me any per diem. They called me within a few hours of receiving the repaired part letting me know I could pick up my car.

They kept their word on the estimated price too. These guys are honest and excellent with high end luxury cars. Not to mention they are keen on constant communication with the customer. Great experience. I'd highly recommend!

What can l say that has not been said about Lu or his employees at E and J. Customer service is everything! I went to 3 different places looking for someone to take a look at my car that was making a weird sound and it was troublesome, l went to a place where this Muslim guy seem to have an attitute and basically told me he did not had the time. (It was Friday) 2 other places also seem to not be interested in my small problem, so finally l called Lu.

Upon arrival he knew who l was and was incredibly nice. I left the car and he did a through search for all things wrong. Found the problem, fix the problem and the car is running great $1100 later. Yah, there were some serious things wrong with the car that needed attention. I will laways go back to E and J and absolutely recomend them for their honest work and great service! Thank you Lu. You are awesome!
