Great people. They help me in a pinch and installed my battery. The price was perfect. Cannot say enough nice things about this repair shop.

Dan's Auto Repair is very reliable. However, they are on the pricey side. But cheaper than the dealership. They do good work and have warranties. The turn around to get your car back use to be fairly quick. However, since Covid they are extremely busy. I would recommend. The staff is friendly as well. We have been going here for about 3-4 years. Never had a problem.

I brought my Mazda CX-5 in for an oil change and new tires. I came home with 1)a service light on, that they should have reset 2) an oil leak from them failing to put a cap back on properly 3) a rim leak on one of the tires. It cost over $100 to fix their mistakes. DON'T GO HERE.

If my car was going to stop working somewhere, I'm glad it did by Dan's. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had me back on the road as soon as they could. Great service.

I had to take my truck back to get new service repair. Electrical wiring related to fuel pump replacement free of charge wasn't expecting that regained my trust and service. Confident about traveling worry free thanksTom for getting me back on the road. keeping it "Real is Rare" And Dan's auto repair did that for me can't speak for anyone else!

BAIT AND SWITCH This place is a scam. I was initially quoted 2200$ for repairs that were supposed to be done the next business day. 4 days later, they say they misdiagnosed and it was a different part causing issues and charged me $2900 total. Classic bait and switch. When I finally received my vehicle back, I had to take it back in because they broke my key fobs. Lastly, they said it was 2900 out the door and that would repair everything. Now my check engine light is on and they told me I need to bring it back so they can squeeze me for more! In times like this, don't turn to Dans Auto Repair in Novi.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value Since having a simple valve cover gasket and thermostat housing changing I've found no less than four bolts missing, and the car is right back to leaking coolant from said housing because of it. Wasting several days of time 100% will never return or let them touch my car again

Great repair shop! We have been utilizing Dan's auto for years.they are always professional and most importantly, very honest and helpful. So many places try to get you to buy a bunch of extra services or parts.dan's auto never does that. As someone who doesn't have expertise in vehicles, I really appreciate knowing that I can always trust the folks at this shop to not only be truthful but also provide highest quality repairs. Highly recommend!

My sister car was making a grinding noise so we took it here and they said it was okay and nothing was wrong. A week later we brought it back because I knew it was the breaks and rotors grinding. They patronized me and spoke down to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. here is a picture of a new break pad and the break pad she had on her car that they said was "just fine". clearly I don't know what I'm talking about.

I would not recommend this place. Either the tech that looked at her car making that grinding noise is lazy or incompetent. Either way? Fire them. How can anyone who knows anything about cars, say this is just fine to drive on?

Being new to Novi, I wanted a fair and dependable mechanic. I will preface by saying the office people are warm, down to earth, knowledgeable, they charge a fair price, and are salt of the earth type of people. I'm not sure about the actual ppl who work on the cars, tho. 2xs I have fixed cars and it turned out the issue was completely something else. 1st: My steering wheel wouldn't turn.

We replaced a part. When I received it, it still wouldn't turn. Now I know I have to dbl check their work So went back in and they had to replace another part.it was a misdiagnosis 2nd: I brought in my car bc it made a lot of noise. They fixed the snorkle. A week later my car is making more noise and I'm stranded in the middle of Detroit. 3rd: I replaced my timing belt a year ago with them, they say the thing that holds the timing belt just went "bad".

I appreciate they telling me I need another oil Change and battery replacement bc when my car went dead it looks like it caused a host of other problems. I usually try to give a few chances but 3xs in a row tells me, it's time. I love the office ppl but in the end, the mechanics are the ppl doing all the work and it seems really careless. Doing it right the 1st time is the best way to do work. It seems like the mechanic is just guessing and not doing a thorough job.

Brought my car in to have Alternator replaced. At that time I told them my Timing chain (GM LS1) had been inspected by another shop and needs replacement but I did not want the work done as I did not have the money at the time. They went ahead anyways and inspected charging $150 to tell me my timing chain was bad, suprise. 2 weeks later I brought it in to have it replaced, they had the car two days then called to tell me their mechanic is sick, cant do the work, and I needed to pick up my car. So the $150 in diag, the $190 in car rental for the 2 1/2 days while they had my car wasted. Taking it somewhere else. Do not go here.

I have been going to Dan's for over ten years, since I moved to Novi! They have been great to work with! I called a couple of days ahead for routine work. They give me an honest opinion When the work will be done. The estimates have been reasonable and very honest. I strongly recommend them to anyone for anything as simple as an oil change to transmission work.

I thought I would try this shop because it's close to where I work and it looked like it's been around for a while. I brought my 1999 Chevy Suburban in for some simple brake work and when they were finished my car had more problems than before. When I got my car back (the first time) I could hear a screeching sound when I applied the brakes and a clicking sound when I came to a complete stop and the car pulled to the right.

They also replaced my steering gear box (which is a whole different mess/review). On my 4th or 5th visit I drove the car with one of their advisors and he claimed not to hear the screeching. Later, they tried to tell me the noise was coming from the U-joint (which was recently replaced), but the noise was clearly being caused by the brakes. I have taken my car back there 7 times now and counting. All-in-all I have spent over $1,800 at this shop and they STILL HAVE NOT FIXED the work they did. Now, I am going to have to pay to get the work done right at a different shop.

So, I am not feeling good about spending $881 on my car. Then after I got my car back the CEL came on again and the then said that it is yet another issue that I questioned. I have NEVER paid this much I'm labor costs in my life. Live and learn. Looking elsewhere for all my future auto repairs. You should do the same. They were lucky I allowed them to work on my car at all.

Being new to the area, wishing my family and friends had more options for me to investigate. Oh well. $89.50 an hour is outrageous. Especially if your CEL is still on! Only reason they get 1 star is so I could post this.

I have been taking all of my Vehicle to Dan's for years. Never have I received such reliable services. They are reasonable with their prices. They are never pushy about what needs to be fixed on your car but they take the time to let you know what is needed, so that your car is up and running in great condition.

Dan's is the best! I've been taking my cars there since I moved to MI, 6 years ago and would never go anywhere else. Mike & the guys are great! They are honest and fair and go out of their way to help their customers.

I've been going to Dan's for years, generally when my vehicle is out of service. They have always done a competent job of repairing whatever was wrong at a decent price. If you live fairly close, they provide a ride to wherever you need to be. The last time I was there with a '98 Mustang, there was a minor problem with the part they ordered, but it ended up being fixed the same day. Generally a very honest repair shop in my experience so far.

DISASTER! DO NOT GO TO DAN'S AUTO REPAIR! They misdiagnosed the problem with my car which resulted in me being stranded. I originally told them I probably need a new alternator. After hundreds of dollars of "diagnosis" they said it was just a short circuit and sent me on my way. When I was stranded on Friday evening I called Dan's Auto but nobody picked up.

I had to get it towed to another Auto Repair place which fixed my problem - I needed a new alternator. When I came in to discuss what happened with Dan he refused to reimburse me for anything I paid him and screamed at me until I left his shop. From the very beginning the entire staff was rude to me and acted like they did not need or want my business. I do not recommend Dan's Auto Repair!
