Bill, Joy, Rich, Carrie and the entire staff of mechanics are extremely helpful and honest. They do great work. We trust them. We take both vehicles there (F150 and an Accord), so they are knowledgeable. They address every concern and stand behind their work. 5 stars! The first time I went there, all I needed was an interior bulb and my rear windshield arm replaced, both of which I supplied (I didn't have the parts or I would've done it myself). The service technician was less than friendly. The owner was condescending. And neither of them instilled much confidence. Not only did they complain (a good deal) about the difficulty of removing my old rear wiper arm, but they didn't even set the new one correctly.

The rear wiper arm I supplied came with a wiper blade, which the owner adamantly argued with me about-see further details. When replacing the arm didn't fix the issue I had with the blade not touching the rear windshield, instead of investigating to fix the problem, all they said was that I needed to get a new wiper blade. Not only did they not return the one they had replaced, which was new and a relatively high-quality one, but they turned me away and said I needed to fix it myself.

You would think, if they were a reputable shop, they could have replaced it and charged me for a new blade, if that was all that needed being done. But I guess that must be beneath them. After I replaced the wiper blade again, it still did not work, so I went back. They were condescending again, but eventually the issue was fixed-they finally installed (and charged me for) the type of wiper blade I needed, because apparently what I was providing was not correct.

The second time I went there, I wanted them to look at my brakes because they were making noise, and mount some new tires I had purchased. I know the noise I was hearing was from my brakes, because it only occurred when I was breaking, and really only when I would slow down while backing out of my parking space (and they needed to be checked anyway).

They said the noise was from my exhaust pipe creaking (not the brakes), and charged me for an oil change, as well as not checking the brakes, and of course charging for the mounting and balancing (which was fairly expensive). I needed an oil change, so fine for that. The third time I went there all I asked them to do was replace my battery-it had been not holding a charge very well.

They tested it, said it was fine, charged the battery, charged me $30 just for testing it, and sent me away. My battery continued to not hold a charge and I needed to get it jumped twice. They could not get me in, even for a simple battery replacement, for almost a week. I thought maybe I had a parasitic drain, since they told me the battery was fine.

So when I was able to get in, I asked them to test for a drain. They tested it again, no drain, but then told me my battery was bad, even though it "tested good" before (it's an interstate battery-about 2 yrs old). They sent me an estimate of $230 just to replace the battery. I was adamant that they were overcharging me and had to argue with the service lady on the phone, even though I thought I had built up somewhat of a rapport.

I even needed to name-drop the people that had recommended this shop to me (people I have been going to church with for almost 20 years, and have been taking both of their cars there for a very long time) after my previous one of 20 years went out of business, in order to get a little respect or to at least be taken seriously. They ended up charging me $40 for the parasitic drain test (which of course did not end up being the problem-it is still a mystery, nor did they ever figure out the problem, or explain what could possibly be the issue) and a battery insulation, and $90 for a "bottom of the line" battery, which they said was the least expensive that they could install, and gave me a warning that with this "low-quality" car battery, they could not guarantee it's quality, or any sort of warranty (not that they offered me one at all anyway).

Since they were holding my car hostage, I paid them so I could get it back. I will never go to this mechanic again. Between the overcharging, and the poor customer service, I would far rather take my chances at pretty much any other local mechanic in my area.

I've taken vehicles in to the Car Hospital probably 10 times by now. Every time they've delivered great honest service with excellent follow-up. They have a dynamic team - only place I've received comparable customer service is Chick-fil-A. After numerous questionable car repair experiences else, I have to say that it was a pleasant surprise when I took a chance on the CAR Hospital. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, fair, and thorough. Most importantly, I was concerned my car would need to spend the weekend at their shop due to it being the end of the week (meaning I would be without my car over the weekend).

They were quick to complete a diagnostic test, send me follow-up information of the findings with pictures, and offer an estimate for repairs. Best part, they completed all the work before they closed shop for the holiday weekend! I cannot state how impressed I am with the entire team and I am glad to have found a credible place for my vehicle maintenance. Thank you!

Bill and his crew are very knowledgeable. The price for the oil change was good as I did not feel overcharged like I have from other places. I was also given estimates on upcoming recommended services to keep my vehicle in good working order. Something I appreciated. Received a follow up call asking if I had any issues and/or questions about the service(s) performed. I highly recommend the Car Hospital to anyone!

I'm very impressed with Bill White's Car Hospital! So impressed I'm actually writing a review! They deserve the recognition. The work they did on my car was satisfactory and fixed my cars issues but the customer service they provided had a lasting impression. They were able to send pictures of the diagnostic codes, everything that would need to be fixed and how much for each fix, and I was able to approve which services or not approve from the link provided via phone. Staff was nice and friendly. They even sent a handwritten card and a scratch off post service and called to check on my car! Very happy with this business.

They have excellent customer service. My son's catalytic converter was cut off and they replaced it with one that contains less precious metals and painted it orange to help deter theft. They also have four pick up boxes with combinations so you can pickup your keys and the repair bill after hours. They were prompt, courteous and took the time to address all my concerns.

Bill White provides very high quality service at a reasonable price. I feel that Bill has his clients interest at heart. His recommendations for service are based his honest assessment of the what is wrong. The owner, Bill, is there most days and oversees all work. Try them if you are looking for a mechanic. I go to school at NIU and have had car troubles on a couple occasions. Both times Bill White's has been incredible. Their work is excellent with customer service to match. In both instances they took the cars at the last minute and were very quick at repairs. They additionally gave me a ride to and from the location since I didn't have any friends available!

I have used the Car Hospital for years, both for my business and personal cars. Bill and his team has always been superb in all they have done for me. Just recently is a great example. My wife has a lease car. She blew the back tire on a car that only has 6000 miles on it. She took it to the dealer and found out the tire isn't covered if you hit a pot hole or something and they then tried to sell her 4 new tires because it would drive funny. but then they put a little doughnut tire on and we didn't notice a driving difference even with that.

So I told them to just order one tire. after a week no one called us for an update. When I went to check on it they told me they where short staffed and the tire is not in yet. So. I told my wife lets call Bill. Bill White got a tire and had it ready for me the very next day and the tire cost less! That is what always happens when dealing with the Car Hospital. I always leave there happy.
