We have 11 repair bays with one dedicated solely to Virginia State Safety and Emissions Inspections. It's frustrating if your car, truck or SUV does not start every time you turn the key; a faulty alternator could be to blame. I went in for my state emissions test and heard back that afternoon that it didn't pass. I did have a check engine light on, so this didn't shock me. They did a diagnostic test and I was sent a report with details of the problem areas and then they called me with the pricing. I explicitly asked if the cost of the diagnostic test charge would be taken out of the cost of the repair and I was told NO, the diagnostic test charge is separate from the $900+ cost of the repairs (he gave the analogy of going to the doctor and needing to pay for the exam plus and medications/treatments they give you).

That seemed like a high starting point so I called other places for their estimates. My dad then called Bradham to get the full rundown of the issue and he was told that the $900+ repair cost DOES include the diagnostic test charge. When I spoke to the same guy both my dad and I spoke with before telling him I was going elsewhere for repairs, he told me I misunderstood HIM and the $900+ repair cost would include the diagnostic test charge.

Auto shops can charge customers whatever they want for repairs, so they choose to try and make some extra money off me. I just happened to catch it (thanks for the descriptive doctor analogy!). It's difficult to find honest auto shops where I, as a young woman, am given the same pricing my dad would get. I'm not getting repairs done here and will not take my car to this shop again.

My car is always serviced on time, as promised. The staff is friendly know what they are talking about. Service needs are always broken down so you know what needs attention now, and what can wait (if you want to put it off). They even drive my wife home!

This garage is very professional and completely transparent in their process! I took my car in, on clearly a busy day for Bradham, for a whirring noise that I wanted fixed before taking it on a long drive. An hour after dropping my car off, I had a text and email link with detailed results of their inspection. This included things that are "Good, " "Needs Future Attention, " and "Needs Immediate Attention." Each item on the list included the condition, recommended action, and notes on the issue (sometimes also a picture of the specific part of my car), as well as informational videos on the importance of various parts/what they do.

On top of that, I got a call not long after reviewing their results link, and Scott personally explained what was needed, patiently and thoroughly answering all my questions - turns out I had more than one item on the 'to-fix' list. Because of the amount of information they provide, it's easy to research the cost of the parts and typical fair service charges; I'm confident that I'm not being overcharged for their services - such a relief for an inexperienced recent college grad that's tight on funds!

The customer service at Bradham was beyond excellent. We had a very unique situation in which our car had (unbeknownst to us) transmission issues on our way to Alexandria/DC on a short vacation - 4-hour drive. We arrived in town and it turned out that we unexpectedly needed an entire new transmission on a car that wasn't worth the sizable expenditure. Nick and others at Bradham were so kind and gracious to us and helped us figure out what to do every step of the way despite their not making much money from the interactions (beyond cost of diagnosis).

If it wasn't for them, we would have never know what to do or what was exactly wrong with our car. They did all this amidst and intensely busy two days in which they squeezed us in without even knowing us or having any prior relationship. If I lived in that area I would use them for every aspect of auto repair and maintenance. They exhibit expertise and care, a welcome and rare combination. Steve

I'd taken my vehicle to the dealership service center a few times and as the problem persisted and repair fees piled up, I knew it was time to take it to a place with some specific electrical expertise. The problem was what I expected (despite what the dealership kept trying to sell me), and the Bradham techs actually handled the repair (refabricating a positive battery cable that is no longer available as a part). Very thorough and clear communication throughout the process. Even got it done a day early. Seems like a well run shop.

You want to bring your car here! I always feel confident in their honesty. I've trusted them for about six years now. They do things right. They are not the cheapest, but I've found through the years that while price is important, it is definitely not the most important thing! It is worth it to know that this establishment has been around for many years. And I feel comfortable knowing that they do not try to tell you that you need repairs that you do not need.

5 stars for this auto shop! I had a vehicle that kept cutting off at the light. I was planning to junk it, but I decided to give Bradham Automotive a try! They ran a number of tests on the vehicle and was about to fix it in less than 24 hours! Ended up saving a fortune! Very respectful and professional! Seen the high ratings of this company so I was pretty sold on them doing my work on my Jeep. Brought my Jeep in to get serviced. Spend 4K on the 4x4 system and other small Things. Jeep's timing was off. Apparently no one knew how to put the engine back into timing. All they did was rotate the oil pump drive assembly. Which is not what you do. It's not a distributor!

You have to have the computer relearn the OPSA but I kept bringing it back and one of the technicians got a attitude and asked "why was it moved" because it wouldn't start after I turn it off. Then even put marks on the OPSA To see if I moved it. The timing never got fixed and I had to take it to another shop where they told me the computer has to relearn the camshaft.

Great now I have to pay for someone else to fix the problem. I also had a fuse problem with my 4x4 air pump. I'm guessing the same tech asked why was the fuse out of its place? Gezz Idk I didn't pull it out. Then wrote "why" on the service ticket. It's a wire going to a fuse. Things happen and they fall out. They also didn't ask me to move my light switch and now I don't have a switch for my rear light because of the air pump and front locker switch. Witch is understandable but they still could have called me to ask what I want to do with the rear light switch.

Now I have a light on the rear bumper and no switch. Thanks guys For someone that spent 4K here you would think I be treated differently and spoke to on why the timing was off etc. I even called and told them my timing was still off and they didn't seem to care. I just wanted what I paid for to work. That's all. I don't ever write anything like this but I figured I write something so maybe someone can decide if they want to bring their vehicle in or not. Nick and his team were wonderful. I brought my car because it was shaking on the highway and his team was communicative and thorough. When the fix took longer than they thought it would, they stayed late and came in early so that we would still be able to take our road trip. So glad they were able to fix our car - it now feels like a new ride!

I brought my car in because I was having a recurring alarm issue. When I brought it in, I mentioned I was also having issues with the power locks, and that I thought the two might be related. Bradham tried several times to re-create the issue and to diagnose it, however, they could not find the problem, after leaving my car at their shop three times.

I asked if they could just disable the alarm because it was becoming a nuisance to my neighbors, and they could not. They finally replaced a broken door latch (which I had suggested on the first visit), which solved the problem temporarily, but a couple months later the part failed and the alarm issue came back. I brought it to a Mazda dealer, where they were quickly able to disable the alarm for $150 -- significantly less than what I paid here, and what I was told by Bradham was not possible. John was friendly and willing to continue investigating, however I just couldn't sink any more money into ineffective repairs.

I had a straightforward and professional experience taking my car here. The service manager Grace took the time to explain her recommended services over the phone as well as why they were being recommended, which I appreciated and helped me prioritize the issues. I received an email with pictures of my car from various angles after the general inspection, which was nice to have. Online appointment booking was a plus too. Overall pretty solid.

I've taken my 1979 land cruiser FJ to Bradham multiple times and every time has been a great experience. The entire team is professional, honest and they do great work. I thought I could trust Bradham. I have been a loyal customer for years and have never had a complaint about their customer service. In September, I had a costly repair. On a recent trip out of state, I went to my long-time mechanic to do routine pre-winter maintenance. I was told the car was not safe to be driving due to the rusted out frame (pictures below).

This is something that would have been a building concern for many months, if not years, and never once was I informed of this issue by Bradham, which has now turned into a serious safety hazard. The recent maintenance at Bradham was, in fact, performed immediately next to the rusted frame. I am extremely disappointed that due to either incompetency or questionable business practices, Bradham performed maintenance without addressing an underlying concern.

Customer service is great! Needed a tire repaired and they did it quickly and expertly. I thought I would need to replace the tire but was told the tire was still good, no need to replace! They could have sold me tires I didn't need but they were honest! What a pleasure to do business with! This place won my business and I will definitely recommend to my friends! Thank you!

I had just moved here, and while pulling my restomod into my house my new steering gear box blew a seal. It was a weekend and I live next door - so I rolled it into the parking lot and had to show up unannounced Monday morning. They were amazing. Fast, courteous, and communicated with me at every step. The pricing was fair, and they didn't add or invent things along the way - they even let me add a part or two during the fix to help my steering system out. Big fan, I'll be returning. this is that "quality shop it takes forever to find". I just got lucky and found them my first night in town.

A little uhappy with this place. Everyone is very nice which helps with the sting of how much money you are shelling out for your car to get fixed. Went in for a lot of issues that I knew would cost an arm and leg only cause I was going to be doing some traveling and wanted to be safe. They fixed everything and was very good with explaining things to me which I was appreciative for.

I didn't appreciate that my gas tank was almost empty and no one said anything when I picked it up. The real unhappy part comes after I did my traveling. I came to back home Va to get my inspection (from another car repair shop) and received a rejection because something that I had gotten fixed from this place was broken. The parts that were broken are what I dropped a large sum of money on to get repaired so I would be safe while traveling.

So to find out that, those parts were broken really made me upset. I called them back and got the parts replaced for free. Which was the only way I was going to accept the repair.

I've been going to Bradham for almost 6 years now. I will never take my car to any other place. I've so often heard that people have to pick 2 out of 3 options which are important: Price, Quality, or Service. That's thrown out at Bradham: you get all 3. Every time. My family moved to the NoVA area this summer and one of the most daunting tasks when arriving to an unfamiliar area is finding a mechanic you can trust. When our import was due for a 75K check up I did my due diligence and brought it to Bradham Automotive. From the very first moment, Josh and the team at Bradham were consummate professionals. Josh kept me updated on the diagnostics, tried to save me from needless expenses where he could, and took great care of my vehicle. I am a novice when it comes to cars, but will always highly recommend the team at Bradham for any automotive needs.

Need a front alignment for an older vehicle and was shocked how few shops now offer the service. I live in Southern MD but, after spending far too long on the phone trying to secure an appointment for the service, I decided to look at Yelp. There was Bradham Automotive with all their 5-star reviews. 5-stars? For an auto shop? Really? Impressive. I phoned and the lady who answered was lovely. Secured me an appointment in a timely manner and quoted me a reasonable price.

Shop itself is very clean. They don't have much of a waiting area, but I was more than comfortable during my time there. Coffees and water are offered to guests and there are outlets to charge your devices. It's also in a nice little area of Old Town, so walking around while your car is being serviced is also easy enough. Owners are wonderfully nice and straightforward and professional and community minded.

They try to give a lot back. I appreciate that in a company. My car was done in far less than the quoted time and at the quoted price. Can't get better than that. I'll be back.

Update: I went to Bradham for a couple years after posting my first review and still couldn't be happier with them. Since my first review I'd gotten all my regular maintenance and some unexpected fixes done there. Grace and everyone else on the team there is wonderful. Once I brought my car in suspecting a flat - tire pressure was low and I saw a large screw head in my tread.

They lifted my car up, pulled it out and found that it hadn't punctured anything (YEAY). They didn't charge me a thing. They're fair and honest with their prices and do a great job. I've since moved out of state - I'm sad I have to find a new mechanic, I don't think I could find one as nice!

Warranty repairs, do what customers request, use the coolant customer provides, not blame, yell at, dismiss, rebuke, lie on, disparrage, patronize the customer when they express dissatisfaction at mistakes made from not honoring or respecting requests. in addition, just saw this clause in my contract that means you can deny any warranty claim as you see fit -- PROVIDED BY LAW, THE SELLER (above named dealership) HEREBY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.

I had a very pleasant experience with Bradham and the general manager. I made an appt online, they responded promptly. My bf dropped off the car and they offered him a ride to the metro. My car was at 35k miles and I knew I probably needed some maintenance in addition to an oil change. Their philosophy is honest, but a bit old school, in my opinion.

Modern cars are marketed to require little maintenance over a lifetime (100k), with avg driving conditions. Bradham suggests maintenance, a transmission flush, for example, that you will not find in your owners manual. So, it's up to you. Do you want to maximize the efficiency of your car? Keep it for more than 100k? Prevent future issues, albeit rare and unlikely with average use and standard, regular maintenance efforts? Personally, I'd rather keep my $200, but I didn't feel mislead about the transmission flush.

The GM explained their rationale for everything with patience. They treat cars like Olympic athletes. My little Corolla is more like a mall walker, doesn't need the best to get me from A to B.

The folks at Bradham Automotive are helpful, friendly, and honest. Josh is the best! Even offered to drive me to work when I had to drop my car off. They explain everything and give you a breakdown of what you're paying for. You don't have to wait ten years to have your car looked at, and they're quick and reliable. Best mechanics I've dealt with in a long, long time. Highly recommend!

Beyond awesome service and staff! I brought my car in for the emission test (at sort of the last minute :) ) and Juan remembered my call from the previous day. He and the rest of the staff were really nice and. friendly, and my car was done in no time. They also got me a quote on some other service I needed, and it was really fairly priced. I'll be bringing my car back for service, for sure!

First time taking my car to Bradham, excellent experience! Everyone I spoke to was friendly and professional, the location is super convenient, the waiting area was nice and clean, and the service to my EcoBeast (Fiesta) was sound That gets 5 stars from me! I took my Ford Explorer to another establishment that provided "Free" Car Inspections. When I picked up my truck, they told me that the Brakes passed, but barely and were in need of replacement. They also said that it was due for 120k mile major service which I new and the total cost to fix everything was $1,600.00. I decided to get a 2nd. opinion and took a recommendation to go to Bradham to see what they said.

The mechanic, J.R. stunned me by telling me the brakes didn't need to be replaced yet and that I had at least another 10-12k miles left before doing it. I went ahead and had J.R. and Bradham do the work and it saved me over $1,000 and they had all the work done before I asked to have it ready. Based on this initial experience, I would highly recommend both J.R. and the Bradham Automotive team.
