Besa Quality Auto Care In 1989, Rod Besa started his automotive shop at first working on all kinds of cars but soon realized that the amount of information, tools, and equipment needed made it difficult to offer the best services. So Rod and his wife Patricia decided to specialize in European vehicles, mainly Audi, BMW, Land Rover, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Mini Cooper, and Porsche.

Scheduled Services per factory recommendations, using quality parts and fluids that meet specifications for your vehicle. Advanced diagnostic equipment to perform accurate tests for engine management, electronically controlled brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and several other vehicle systems. Engine repairs ranging from simple oil leaks to more complex work such as cylinder head gaskets, valve jobs, timing chains, etc.

If you need any type of repair, I would definitely recommend bringing your car here. Everyone is very friendly and kind. They have the best prices in the city and are also super quick!

I have been taking my higher mileage Land Rovers for maintenance work to Besa for 7 years. Rod consistently gives me top-quality service and solid advice on how to keep the vehicles running well. He's knowledgeable about the ins and outs of Land Rovers and that gives me a lot of trust.

Adding a five star update for Besa. I brought my LR home from the recent service. Check engine light popped on a few miles later. I brought it back to Besa and they diagnosed and resolved the issue quickly for me (unrelated to the original service.) Thanks again!

This shop is top notch and Rod is a pleasure to deal with. Rod and the crew helped me address some big repairs (head gasket) and several long-standing issues (oil leaks, power steering noises) with my beloved Discovery II. Rod did the job right, and stood by his work. He was patient with my many questions and responsive to my input. He made sure I understood what was going on, and now--6 months or so out from the work at Besa--the Disco continues to work perfectly and I'm left with nothing but thanks and appreciation for Rod's hard work and expertise. If you have a Land Rover in the Bay Area, Besa is as good as it gets. Thanks, Rod!

Family owned business. They did a 75,000 mile service on an Audi SUV, and were fantastic. Well priced, easy to work with. Besa is a family run business. The staff and mechanics are very knowledgeable and transparent when it comes to the diagnosis and repair suggestion for your vehicle. I truly only trust my car with Besa Auto. I know they are honest and always give me the best advice and the best service on my car. They just saved me by replacing my radiator that suddenly broke. They did it quickly and at a reasonable price. Their communication was clear and friendly-something really appreciated in that stressful time. I can't recommend them enough- do yourself a favor and go here.

I had Rod service my Landrover Discovery for many years and could always count on competent service, quality work and sound advice. I recently brought in our son's used Toyota for a general tune-up, brakes, etc and was reminded of the great work Rod does on any car. I highly recommend Besa!

Besa is AWESOME. Two of my family members have given great reviews and I know why. They are thorough, honest and they truly care about your car. I had taken my car to another shop, who only diagnosed I problem correctly. But it was Besa who found that I needed another alternator belt and had a leaking hose on top of needing an alternator. The other place never mentioned those problems and in fact said that the negative battery cable would need to be replaced as well. These people have my business for life. They received my car at almost 11am and were done by 3:30pn. You rock, Besa!

Besa is great! After calling various auto repair shops, including Pep Boys, Besa gave me the best offer. Not only that, they are located right across the street from my job! Bess Quality Auto Care is the place to go for foreign car maintenance and repairs. I'm a loyal customer of almost 6 years. Rob is reasonably priced and always gives honest suggestions. I have taken my 2007 Range Rover to Besa since it passed the factory service warranty. I now have 220k miles. Rod says if I take care of it, it will go 300k plus. Fingers crossed. Besa does a great job. They are quick and exceed their promises.

Rod and his team are great. I've been taking my 2010 328i to his shop for the last 2 years. They are trustworthy and they get the job done for a fair price. I've saved a ton taking my car here rather than a dealership.

Don't waste your time, this is one of those mechanics that thinks he's too good to do certain jobs. You could find quality auto care in plenty of other places. If you live in Oakland or somewhere else take your car to another place someone that actually will service the community that people live in.

I've been taking my cars to Rod since before Besa Quality Auto Care existed. In the early years, when I was pinching pennies, he would often help me decide on affordable repairs (what can I get away with?) that allowed me to still have money for food at the end of the day. Today, he is my default mechanic and I trust him implicitly. When I lost my wedding ring in my car, my mother thought I was crazy to trust my mechanic to find it. But I did. And they did. - 100% Loyal Customer for almost 30 years.

Rod, solid guy didn't upsell me what I didn't need. Very friendly and got me taken care of. They had a lot of Range Rover inside their shop which made me more confident bringing my P38 over to get some repairs done. Will be back for other items!

Really good people, always follow-through, never leave you hanging. I wish they weren't closed on weekends, but it's probably the reason they're able to be so nice. I've been going to them for over five years and would hate to take my car anywhere else.

Great customer service from the person answering the phone to the auto tech. Called for quote today for a 4 wheel alignment at 125$ for my 02' Disco. Not bad, not great but fter talking to other shops I'm going to Besa, My decision is based on my experience with working on my own Land Rover. These trucks need specific tools and someone who knows them and I feel most comfortable taking my baby to Besa. Thanks for the quote! See you next week!

I gave Besa 2 stars primarily for the customer service prior to actually getting your car serviced. Re the repair service specifically, I would give them 4-5 stars. However, the folks at Besa who answer the phones, make appointments, provides direction/answers questions regarding service prior to your car actually being serviced are the worst that I have come across in the Bay Area.really!

If they actually pick up the phone, they will prove to be inadequate at best. It's unfortunate for the owner, because he has a bunch of bozos running the "front" and they are doing him a huge dis-service.

If you have a range rover, I highly recommend Besa for your range rover repairs. The owner, Rod is very knowledgeable, professional, and honest. In a field not known for it's honesty, I very much trust Rod and wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

I can't honestly comment on under-the-hood work or cost, but I can tell you that the owner is willing to help out a gal in distress. I don't know about you, but when my dashboard starts flashing unexpected warning lights, I panic. I'm a car idiot (one of the many things I'd like to be an expert in one day), and wasn't sure what this particular warning light meant.

I passed Besa Auto Care and asked if they could help me out. The owner was super friendly and fixed the problem without even charging me. He gave my car a once-over, provided advice and info, had one of his guys check my tires, and I rolled out of there 5 minutes later. Warning light off. Hey presto. One good deed deserves another, so I hope his good karma (car-ma?) is returned to him!

I have been going to Besa Auto since it was at the other location I can no longer remember exactly where that was and over the years the service has ALWAYS been amazing, high quality, timely. I have an old car but its my baby and while on the outside it doesn't look as fabulous as she once did back in 1997 when I drove her off the lot, her insides are still fabulous and amazing thanks to Rod and Steve at Besa Auto (as well as the rest of the team there).

I am a single woman who doesn't know a lot about cars but I know Rod cares that I have a safe, working vehicle first and foremost. His repair recs are never based on just wanting to make money off of me and as I mentioned, my baby is pretty old so he could if he wanted to. Today I stopped by unannounced to see if he knew someone who could fix a small repair for me today, immediately so my holiday weekend fun could begin, he had a Mechanic pop my hood, replace a hose in 5 mins and sent me on my way free of charge. I've recommended countless people here over the years and no one has complained. Can't rec this shop enough! Thanks Everyone at Besa, you guys rock!

I saw the great reviews on Yelp, so I called them up and told them my just-purchased used Toyota Highlander had an after-market alarm system that was malfunctioning. I asked if they could restore the original factory alarm system that was still in it, and they said no problem, bring it in. So, I brought it in, and they called me 6 hours later and said sorry, they can't fix it, and I would need to bring it to the (notorious) Downtown Toyota dealer just up the road, to have the factory alarm reconnected.

They had already made arrangements with Ronaldo at the Toyota Dealer, in my name. "That will be $65, please." "Why can't you fix it?" "Well we can fix some aftermarket systems. Land Rovers and so on. But this one needs to be re-coded. If you want to restore the Toyota system you need to go to the Toyota dealer just up the street." Why did they tell me they could restore my original alarm, then take my money and tell me they couldn't restore it? $65 to tell me that I needed to go the Toyota dealer. Never again.
