Larry and his crew are honest, caring, and competent. I suppose over a long time there will be mistakes and occasional disappointments, even legitimate ones, from customers. But my experience has bee uniformly positive. I have a very old vehicle, and the challenges in keeping it running are many. Yet, the staff at Automotive Clinic have never taken advantage of me, nor have I ever felt as thought they did.

They advise me on what has to be done, what can be delayed, and what doesn't have to be done at all. As a long-time customer, I trust Automotive Clinic and hope they will be there for many more years, for me and others looking for solid service with integrity.

Larry wanted $476usd plus tax for an inspection to see why the car was overheating! No thank you, I am not stupid! this quote and the other bad reviews made me leave. I found out the hose and w/ a coolant flush it fixed the issue for 30usd. Larry is a very argumentative old guy who no longer cares about cars or costumers only mone! retire dude!

This is a repair referral company, not an actual auto shop. I really needed a mechanic urgently over a weekend and spending the time to contact these people and finding out that they just farm me out to other shops felt misleading.

I got referred here by another auto shop for a knock sensor repair.just as Larry and his team suspected, a rodent chewed through the harness! so it needed to be replaced. Called the shop and explained I needed to have my issue fixed before Monday so I could return to work on time. Larry, Sampson, and Josh went the extra mile for everything. They stayed past operating hours, found the part I needed from another shop, and sent me on my way the same day.

I have taken my cars for service at Automotive Clinic for 20 years, Even after moving out of San Francisco I still bring my car to them for service. I trust Larry Nasey and his team to do good work and also to be honest about what my car needs. They take pictures of what they find and show me. They're simply wonderful people, both professionally and personally.

My 2016 Nissan Murano developed transmission problems on a Saturday afternoon such that I could not drive the car the 100 miles home. Frantically looking for an open AAA shop, Larry at Automotive Clinic was open and close to our location. He checked the car for codes and gave me a tentative opinion. I left the car and got a ride home. After confirmation on Monday, he held the car until I could get it towed home on Thursday. Larry was honest and straightforward with his assessment and opinion.

He explained my options and frankly made a very stressful situation tolerable. I cannot say enough good things about this man and his operation. If you want to an honest and straightforward small business owner to deal with, Larry and the Automotive Clinic is your place. Thank you, Larry.

My car arrived at Larry's shop at 5:30pm on Saturday afternoon. After I asked very nicely to get the car serviced that night, the team stayed late to make sure the job was done. Larry, who has owned the shop for 35+ years, was running around to get the parts I needed. At one point, he raced over to a nearby shop to get something I needed -- begging the other shop to stay open until he arrived. I am truly blown away at the quality of service and customer dedication everyone had. Oh - and the prices were very reasonable. I will be returning.

Automotive Clinic is amazing! This is the 3rd time I've used them and once again, they've knocked it out of the park. They're friendly, have integrity, do amazing work & consistently exceed expectations. Special shout out to their car detailer, who made my car look brand new with a technique called Clay Bar. My car is 15yrs old & was showing the wear & tear of that. My car looks brand new. Bravo! Highly recommend taking your car to Automotive Clinic. You won't be disappointed.

My first experience with Automotive Clinic went smoothly, and I'm thankful that my a/c issue was just a matter of being low v. a leak. They open at 7am and close at 6pm. Helpful when you have an 8am-5pm job. Easy access to public transportation. Larry was extremely helpful and informative. I appreciated his calm demeanor. I will return for future service!

There are few people in any field of business that surpass the professionalism of Larry and his team. I have using them for over 20 years and have never experienced anything short of total satisfaction. They certainly don't need my help to build their business, but I'd like to go on the record by expressing my appreciation. This car shop is terrific. Aside from the convenience of being near home, these folks are responsive, honest, competent, polite and eager to please. I NEVER feel taken for granted. I realize some reviewers might have come by here on a bad day or been dissatisfied, and I'm not here to dispute their sincerity. I can only say that my car is challenging to say the least. It's an old, but very well maintained car.

It requires a lot of patience and skill from the mechanic and technician that simply isn't required in many of today's cars that produce computer generated diagnostics. Getting parts for my "oldster" car is also a challenge, and they've never lost patience or tried to take advantage. They also work with me to keep the cost-shock of repairs to a minimum. Larry, the owner, is also a savvy and quiet fellow with a terrific, dry sense of humor. I hope they will be in business forever.

Im so lucky that this mechanic is in my neighborhood. I was able to drop off my car the morning after my initial call and they were done within 48 hours. My oil change and check up came with a detailed, emailed report of every component they checked with pictures, condition and recommendations, if any. They didn't try to upsell me on anything, no unintelligible problems that needed immediate fixes, just clear and honest work. They're trying to go paperless so I now have electronic copies of the report and receipt. Larry, the owner, is a little hard to clearly understand over the phone but I assure you he is a competent, friendly, local and honest dude. Again, Im so happy that this place is around the corner from my apartment.

My car maintenance is going to be a BREEZE while I live by this place. Ah, their website promotes a car wash, which I didn't receive, but they did change the batteries in my key fobs, which was a nice touch.

Honestly very thankful that my car was towed here of all places. I originally had an oil leak, and when they checked it out, found several other issues and explained them to me thoroughly. They're super knowledgable and were concerned about my safety and function of the car. I walked out understanding what my options were, and they even let me hold the car in the shop while I figured it out. Please support them!

It's so hard to find an honest shop that does good work. I'm incredibly glad I gave this one a try. I've never had a better auto repair experience than here. I had an intermittent strange sound problem. As an owner of many mediocre used cars I knew this would be a tricky problem to solve. Another shop couldn't figure it out previously.

These guys spent a long time both talking with me about it and driving the car with me. They got me in and did a quality fix quickly. They also sent pictures of the problem. I suggested throwing money at the problem by just replacing shocks. They could've easily made more money by running with that but didn't. I couldn't be happier with this service.

I had a very good experience with Automotive clinic. They fixed my radiator on time and on budget, and even replaced my brake lights for free. Very professional outfit that I enjoyed dealing with. I would highly recommend them!

All of it is true. These mechanics know what they're doing and they will fix your car. They will also charge you an arm and a leg while they do it. I came out feeling mixed.

Omg. I am SO GRATEFUL to these guys. I live way out in Walnut Creek, and was in the marina today. Got in my car, started it up and I got an alert that my car key battery was low. Immediately I got really nervous. Because when you take the key out of the fob, it works to open the door. but there's no ignition area to insert it so WTF. Like if I drove somewhere else and then tried to start my car, would I be stranded? Help.

I have no idea how to replace it. So I called a bunch of locksmiths who were not helpful at all except for one. Who told me to go to Walgreens and try to figure out the battery and use a screwdriver to replace it myself. Which made me anxious to even think about. Like what battery specifically? So then I started calling around for nissan and of course they're closed because it's 6:15 the night before thanksgiving. Luckily, I found this spot and they were still open and said they could help me.

I went over, they found a new battery, replaced it for me and were as nice as can be and super, super affordable and kind. If this is how they are with a car key fob, I would imagine they would be great at all of their other services as well.

Larry is honest, fair and knowledgeable. He knew my (now former) car had about 6 mos left in her and he was thorough in seeing her through to the finish line. Also gave me great advice on buying a new car.

Don't bring your car here for a diagnostic. Their charge is nearly $200 and they scoff at you if you refer to your AAA membership. They give you a song s dance about how difficult It is to diagnose vehicles made in the mid 2000. The manager mumbles and makes wise cracks. Forget it.

These guys are awesome and really saved the day for us. My wife's car broke down at 4:00 on California St and our tow truck driver couldn't figure what was going on. He recommended a tow to Automotive Clinic (it's now 5:15). We fully expected them to say "we can't work on it tomorrow", but they quickly diagnosed and luckily it was a quick fix. Both the gentlemen at the desk were super helpful and very personable. I would absolutely recommend bringing your car here!

If you have an American or Asian car, these guys will likely go a great job. Derek and Larry are good guys and genuinely care about their customers. However, after being struck by a careless driver, I took my car to automotive clinic for the insurance-backed repair. They had to repaint my door, and there were multiple issues with the paint job. I had to come back 3 separate times to get it fixed. But, they admitted the mistakes and the final product looks good.

My only other gripe: you'll need to bother them to know when your car is ready for pickup. In all honesty, my Audi is just too nuanced for the average local repair shop. Give these guys a shot though if you live in the neighborhood.
